Luke 24:36-48
36 As they (Jerusalem and Emmaus believers) were talking about these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, โPeace to you!โ 37 They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. 38 And he said to them, โWhy are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39 Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see, a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.โ 40 As he spoke, he showed them his hands and his feet. 41 Still they stood there in disbelief, filled with joy and wonder.
Then he asked them, โDo you have anything here to eat?โ 42 They gave him a piece of broiled fish, 43 and he ate it as they watched. 44 He said to them, โThis is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.โ 45 Then HE opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. 46 He told them, โThis is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and in his name the message about repentance [metรกnoia โ a change of mind - from metanoรฉล - metรก - changed after being with; noiรฉล - think โ โthink differently afterโ] and the forgiveness of sins/wrongdoing [aphesis - dismissal, release, fig. pardon] must be preached to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem. 48 And you are witnesses of these things.

1 - Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. (I found this version interesting - โGod, having spoken in former times in fragmentary ..fashion..โ) 2 But in these last days (the fifth and sixth days) he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. 3 The Son radiates Godโs own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he upholds the universe by the mighty power of his command. After making purification for sins [hamartia - missing the mark] he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven. 4 Having emerged as much superior to the angels! And the name he has inherited is beyond excellent to theirs.
