              Luke 3:1-6

1 - It was now the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius, the Roman emperor. Pontius Pilate was governor over Judea. Herod Antipas was ruler over Galilee, his brother Philip was ruler over Iturea and Traconitis. Lysanias was ruler over Abilene. 2 Annas and Caiaphas were the high priests, when the word (message)  of God came to John the son of Zechariah in the wilderness. 3 Then John went from place to place on both sides of the Jordan River, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. 4 Isaiah had spoken of John when he said, “He is a voice shouting in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the LORD’s coming! Clear the road for him! 5 The valleys will be filled, and the mountains and hills made level! The crooked shall be made straight and the rough ways made smooth. 6 And all shall see the salvation of God.’”

       ~ Hebrews 6:19-7:3 ~

19 We have this hope [ELPIS - expectation, trust, confidence] as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It reaches behind the curtain and into the most holy place. 20 Where Jesus entered on our behalf, as a high priest in the image of Melchizedek, as purposed aionion. 7:1 This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the war with, and defeat of the kings, and blessed him. 2 Then Abraham gave him a tenth of everything he had. The meaning of the name Melchizedek is "King of Justice." But since Salem means "peace," he is also "King of Peace." 3 There is no record of his father or mother or any of his ancestors—no beginning or end to his life. He remains a priest forever [diénekés - carried through, continuous] in imitation of the Son of God.
