            Mark 2:1-12

1 - When Jesus returned to Capernaum several days later, the news spread quickly that he was back home. 2 Soon the house where he was staying was so packed with visitors, as he was teaching, that there was no more room, even outside the door. 3 Four men arrived carrying a paralyzed man on a mat. 4 They couldn’t bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they broke open a hole in the roof above his head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of Jesus! (That’s some good friends!) 5 When Jesus saw how much faith they had, he said to the man, "My friend! Your sins are forgiven!” (πŸ€”This is before Jesus paid the debt, called a “ransom”. To me this proves the sacrifices - Old Testament and New - were not paying ransom to the adversary as if he were stronger than God and God needed to pay him protection or ransom! And the idea Jesus was executed to save us from the Father is not logical, nor God who “is love” needing blood to appease his, barely able to be contained, great wrath. So what does that leave that truly - does - need to be appeased? Could it be the delicate human psyche? The guilty conscience? That is such a monster hiding in the closet of our psyche ever waiting to jump out and sabotage us at every turn?)

6 Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, 7 “What is he saying? This is blasphemy! Only God can forgive sins!” 8 Jesus knew what they were thinking, so he said to them, “Why are you thinking as you are? 9 Which is easier? To say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven’? Or to say, ‘Get up, take up your mat and walk’? 10 But that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins” he said to the paralytic, 11 “I say to you, get up, pick up your mat, and go home!" 12 The man got up, picked up his mat and went out while everyone watched in amazement. They praised God and said, "We have never seen anything like this!"

           ~ Hebrews 10:8-13 ~

8 The Law teaches that offerings and sacrifices must be made because of sin. But why did Christ mention these things and say that God did not want savrifices and offerings? 9 Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10 For God’s will is for us to be made holy through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins. 12 But when this priest, Jesus, had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13 and there he waits until his enemies/hostiles (all hostility) should be placed [tithΓ©mi - to put, place, lay, set, fix, establish] as a footstool (of total dominion and fully conquered) for His feet.
