Hebrews 4:12-16 Luke 1:67-80
☀️ A.M. Hebrews 4:12-16
12 - The word of God is living and active. It’s sharper than any sword for it penetrates even to the dividing of soul from spirit, and joint from marrow. It discerns and brings to light the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
13 None of us are hidden from his sight, but all are fully seen by the eyes of him with whom is our account [greek word logos - reasoning].
14 We have a great high priest. {Confessor, able to take the loose ends of life, and our life, and weave them into the beautiful tapestry God is weaving.} Because we have such a high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us - hold fast - {and rest in} our confession [homologia, homo-logia - literally “together-Word”].
15 For we don’t have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses. But he was tested in every respect even as we are, yet without sin [hamartia - missing the mark].
16 So then! Let us, with confidence, draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find the grace that helps us in our time of need. {Which is now and every day.}
(PSALM 68:13 - If you rest (enter rest) like a dove in the sheep’s pasture, you will have wings like silver with feathers dipped in gold.) {Radiant, reflecting light.}
🌙 P.M. Luke 1:67-80
67 - And the baby’s father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying, 68 “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel! He has visited and redeemed his people! 69 He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David, 70 as he said by his holy prophets of old, 71 that we should be saved from our enemies - and from the hand of -> all who hate us, 72 to show the mercy promised to our fathers and to remember his holy covenant, 73 the oath he swore to our father Abraham, to grant us 74 that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear, 75 in holiness and righteousness before him all our days. 76 And you, child [John the baptist] will be called the prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways, 77 to give the knowledge of salvation to his people {those that are his, Jn.13:3 but the word “things” is added/inserted} as the forgiveness of their sins, 78 because of the tender mercy of our God! Whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high! 79 To give light to those who sit in darkness, and in the shadow of death. And to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
80 And the child grew and became strong in spirit. And he was in the wilderness until the day of his public appearing to Israel. {Microcosm.. everything in patterns.. progresses from small scope to full scope, like the adopting and message to Israel, and then the adopting and message to the nations. Smaller scope to full scope, including the advents of Jesus. Why the preoccupation with “missing the mark”? Because it can never work, it’s an “iron rod” / unbreakable measure. God iS Life, and “is perfect” so imperfect is two things, entropy, a process that “doesn’t quit” and an abyss of potential. The best news is, perfect, means the ‘end’ result of all this - greek word “tel” root of tele-scope, means the “end-aim” - can onLy be the veRy best one possible.}
