☀️ A.M. 1 Peter 4:9-19
9 - Show hospitality to one another without grudging. 10 For as each has received a gift - use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace. 11 Whoever speaks, be as one who speaks the oracles of God. Whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God gives. This is in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion age to age. Amen.
12 Beloved, don’t be surprised at the fieRy trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. 13 But rejoice, as you share Christ's sufferings, you also will rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. 14 If you’re insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. 15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, as a thief, or as an evildoer, or a meddler. 16 Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let them not be ashamed, but let them glorify God in the Lord’s name [onoma - name, character, fame, reputation, cause]. 17 For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God. 18 - “If the world hates you, know it has hated me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would accept you as its own. But because you’re not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, the world does not accept you. 20 Remember how I said to you, ‘A servant isn’t greater than their master.’ If they persecuted me, they’ll persecute you. If they kept my word, they’ll keep yours.
21 But all these things they’ll do to you on account of my name, because they don’t know he who sent me. 22 If I hadn’t come and spoken to them, they wouldn’t have been guilty, but now they have no cover.
23 Whoever hates me hates my Father also.
24 If I had not done among them the works that no one else has done, they would not be guilty, but now they have seen and hated both me and my Father. 25 And the scripture written in The Law is fulfilled, ‘They hated me without a cause.’
