11-08 - 1 Corinthians 7 8-23

 N.T. IN A YEAR READING & STUDY [ ]REFERENCES { }THOTS, VERSES R PARAPHRASED

☀️ (Practical matters, continued) 8 - To the unmarried and widows I think it’s good for them to remain single, as I (Paul) am. 9 But if they haven’t self-control, they should marry. For it’s better to marry than to burn with passion.

     10 To the married I give this charge, not I, but the Lord, the wife shouldn’t separate from her husband 11 but if she does, she should remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband, and the husband should not divorce his wife.

     12 To the rest I say (I, not the Lord) that if any brother has a wife who is an unbeliever, and she consents to remain with him, he should not divorce her. 13 If any woman has a husband who is an unbeliever, and he’s happy to remain with her, she should not divorce him. 14 For the unbelieving husband will be influenced by his wife, and the unbelieving wife will be influenced by her husband. Otherwise your children would be unduly influenced, but as it is, they will be influenced by you. 15 But if the unbelieving partner separates, let it be so. In such cases the brother or sister is not bound. God has called you to peace. 16 For how do you know, wife, whether you will deliver to Jesus your husband? Or how do you know, husband, whether you will deliver to Jesus your wife?

     17 Only let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to them, and to which God has called them, a good rule in all the churches. 18 Was anyone at the time of his call already circumcised? Let him not seek to remove the circumcision. Was anyone at the time of his call uncircumcised? Let him not seek to be circumcised. 19 For neither (the physical) circumcision counts for anything nor uncircumcision, but keeping the instructions of God.

     {Note: circumcision was on “the 8th day”. It represents the spiritual circumcision of the heart ..no longer self as first and foremost, etc - The collective circumcision of mankind (and angelkind) will be completed during the 8th millennium of this creation - see if I’m wrong -> Rev.20. But the chapter is like describing the crests of waves and not much of the in between. ..It was a biG bang into the universe as is, then, was set in motion with two outlines running - the week plus one. And within that outline (wheel within a wheel) the ancient holy days of Leviticus 23 as representing Jesus’ two advents.}

     20 Each one should remain in the condition in which they were called. 21 Were you a bondservant when called? Don’t be concerned about it. But if you can gain your freedom, avail yourself of the opportunity. [It was a money or land lending system.] 22 For the one who was called in the Lord as a bondservant is free in the Lord! Likewise the one who was free when called is a bondservant of Christ. 23 You were bought with a price. It’s better not to become bondservants of men.

           Mark 7:14-30

14 Once again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “All of you, listen to me and understand. 15 It’s not what goes into your body (food) that corrupts you, you are corrupted by what comes from your heart. 16 Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear!” 17 When he had entered the house and left the people, his disciples asked him about the parable. 18 So He said to them, “Are you also without understanding? You surely know that the food you eat cannot make you unclean. 19 It doesn't go into your heart, but into your stomach, and then out of your body." By saying this, Jesus meant that all foods were fit to eat. 20 “It’s what comes from inside that defiles a person. 21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 unfaithfulness in marriage, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23 All these evils come from within, and corrupt/contaminate a person.” 24 Then Jesus left Galilee and went north to the region of Tyre. He didn’t want anyone to know which house he was staying in, but he couldn’t keep it secret. 25 Right away a woman who had heard about him came and fell at his feet. Her little girl was possessed by an evil spirit. 26 The woman was a Greek (and gentile/not Hebrew/not exclusively in the covenant - gentiles messaged later) born in Syrian Phoenicia. She begged Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter. 27 Jesus told her, “First I should feed the children—my own family, the Jews. It isn’t right to take bread from the children and throw it to the little dogs.” 28 “Lord,” she replied, “even the puppies under the table eat the children’s crumbs.” 29 “Wise answer!” he said. “Go on home, the demon has left your daughter.” 30 And when she arrived home, she found her little girl lying quietly in bed. The demon was gone.

           ~ 1 John 3:18-22 ~

18 Children, you show love for others by truly helping them, and not merely by talking about it. 19 When we love others, we know we belong to the truth, and we feel at ease in the presence of God. (πŸ—️πŸ₯³πŸ•Š️) 20 Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything. 21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God, 22 and receive from him what we ask, because we obey him and do what pleases him. (πŸ€”Love! To be a blessing/helpful.)

Words That Heal

Christians are supposed to be able to speak and pray healing by praying and speaking in the name of Jesus (as if for Him). And even raise the dead on occasion, and not by using a defibrillator... It seems to me it has to be some sort of speaking to the molecules.. And being the children of God, made in His image, is the key.. All part of God's grand agreement, signed in blood no less! (Such a signature is very dramatic, able to strike the heart of every creature). And the proof, pledge, and stamp of guarantee (old term being "surety") is His Presence with us which is the Holy Ghost flowing through us. The proof of His Presence is our heart crying "Father!" [Hooray! My Father! (Your Father, our Father..)]
...That peace which is like a river and swells up into joy.. But very few of us successfully pray or speak a lot of healing.. or maybe we just don't try, or don't have enough peaceful (que sera, sera) confidence..?
