JOHN 14 12-21

     05/14 - GospeL Verses

12 - “Truly, I tell you, whoever believes in me will also do the works I do, and greater works than these they will do, because I’m going to the Father. {Greater works, further reach, and don’t forget during his long second advent.} 13 Whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so - the Father may be glorified - in the Son. 14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

15 If you love me, you’ll keep my commandments/instructions/sayings. 16 And I’ll ask the Father, and he’ll give you another help [par谩kl膿tos - from par谩 - from close-beside, and kal茅艒 - make the call, properly, a legal advocate who makes the right judgment-call because close enough to the situation, someone giving evidence that stands up in court] to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit {Presence (with us)} of Truth (the Father, who is Life), whom the world can’t receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.

18 “I won’t leave you as orphans, but will come to you. {At the end of that age, at Pentecost, and later, as fully present at the culmination of history, this unavoidable, all important contrast, a slow gehenna crucible, entropy/imperfection.} 19 Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you’ll see me. Because I live, you will live also. 20 In that day you’ll know that I’m in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. 21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, are those who love me. And those who love me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and I will make myself known to them.”

2 Corinthians 10 1-6

01/04 ~ From New Testament Letters

馃晩️ (In the Order Believed Written)

1 - I, Paul, myself, urge [parakale贸 - kaleo - to call to - para - (one's) side; exhort, entreat, encourage, comfort, urge] you, by the meekness and gentleness of Christ - I who am humble when face to face, but bold when I am away! - 2 I beg of you that when I am present I may not have to show boldness as I count on showing to some who accuse us of walking according to the flesh. 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh (carnal nature of disputes, division, aggression, wars) but are God’s divine power to destroy strongholds {of untrue and damaging things}. 5 We destroy arguments and every so called high and lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obeying Christ. 6 Thus being in readiness to vindicate concerning every disobedience, when ones obedience is fulfilled and complete. {Our thinking conformed to Christ, the logos personified, and to the written logos, pre translator errors of course, errors due, surely(?) to their partial disbelief. Then we can know.. and bring gentLy to others awareness.. gentLy over time. No need, imo, for unnecessary division, accusation, etc. As we are “not battling flesh and blood, aka, other persons, but the battle is with powers and principalities which Truth defeats. The sWord of Truth’s tip can separate true thread from not true.. A tapestry with no true thread becomes a mere pile of unraveled threads. We don’t need to use the sWord as if to slice and dice.. only with patience, the doctrines. While being very mindful of our brothers and sisters not yet liberated from all unTruths. Especially as none of us are totally free of anY unTruth.. Truth is the iron/unbreakable (measuring) rod, so spending time in an untruth is a waste of time.}

GospeL Verses ~ Luke 9:46-50

46 - Jesus' disciples were arguing about which one of them was the greatest. (lol) 47 And Jesus knew it, so he had a child come and stand beside him. 48  And he said to his disciples, “When you welcome even a child because of me, you welcome me. When you welcome me, you welcome the one who sent me. And whichever one of you is the most humble, that one is the greatest.”

49 John said, “Master, we saw a man using your name to force demons out of people. But we told him to stop, because he isn't one of us.” 50 “Don't stop him!” Jesus said. “Anyone who isn't against you, is for you.”

                ~ 3 John 1:1-8 ~

1 - From the church leader.

To my dear friend Gaius.

I love you because we follow the truth. 2 And I pray all goes well for you, dear friend. I hope you are as well and strong in body, as you are in spirit. 3 It makes me very happy when the Lord's followers come by and talk of how you are following the truth. 4 Nothing brings me greater happiness than to hear that my children (in the faith) are obeying the truth.

5 Dear friend, you have always been faithful in helping other followers of the Lord, even the ones you don’t personally know. 6 They have told the church [ekkl茅sia - from ek - out from and to, and kal茅艒 - to call) – properly, people called out from the world and to God - an (the) assembly] about your love. They say you welcomed them gladly and sent them on their mission in a way God's servants deserve.

7 When they left to tell others about the Lord, they decided not to accept help from anyone who isn’t a follower. 8 We should support people like them, so we can have part in what they are doing to spread the truth.

        WeeKly BooK oF Revelation

18 - “To the angel of the church in Thyatira write: ‘The words of the Son of God, whose eyes are like a flame of fire, and whose feet are like polished bronze. 19 ‘I know your works, your love and faith and and your patient endurance, and that your later works are greater than your first. 20 But I have this against you, that you are tolerating the woman Jezebel (an Old Testament violent worshiper of the Baal of ancient Zidon). She calls herself a prophetess and is seducing and teaching my servants to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols. (This isn’t the leftover meat the poor bought in the marketplace, but is a joining in the decadent feasts of ‘the gods’.) 21 I gave her time to repent and turn, but she refuses. 22 Behold, will be a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of her deeds, 23 and the children (and, or fruit?) of her struck dead/abolished [abolished by death]. And all the ecclesia will know that I am he who searches minds and hearts, and I will give to each of you according to your own works. 24 But to the rest of you in Thyatira, who do not hold to this teaching, who have not learned the deep things of Satan, as they say, to you I do not lay upon you any other burden, 25 except to hold fast [krate贸 - be strong, prevail, hold fast] what you have until I come. 26 The one who overcomes [nika贸 - conquers, prevails, subdues] (the lower self) and keeps my works to the end, to them I will give authority over the nations, 27 and they will rule with a (measuring) rod of iron (unbreakable Truth) as when earthen pots are shattered in pieces, even as I myself have received from my Father. (Truth will totally shatter untruth.) 28 And I will give to them the morning star. 29 Whoever has an ear, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches [ekkl膿s铆a -from ek - out from and to, and kal茅艒 - to call — (to) the called out].”

GospeL Verses ~ John 6:30-40

30 - They asked him then (day after he fed 5000 with five loaves and two fish) “What sign do you do, that we may see and believe? What work do you perform? 31 Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, as it’s written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven.’” (He had told them they were looking for him because they had been ate with satisfaction. Guess he was right.) 32 Jesus then said, “Truly, I tell you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but my Father. And he gives the true bread from heaven. (You cannot separate the metaphor from the literal and vice versa.) 33 For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives Life to the world.” 34 They said to him, “Sir, give us this bread always!” 35 Jesus answered, “I am the bread of life. And whoever comes to me will not hunger, and whoever believes in me will not thirst. 36 But I have said to you that you have seen me and yet you don’t believe. 37 All the Father gives me will come to me (Jn.3:35 - The Father loves the Son and has given all - “pas” all - into His hand. Translators changed all to all things, still true, but!!) And whoever comes to me I will not cast out. 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do my will, but the will of he who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose none that he has given me, but will raise it [autos - he, she, it] on the last day. 40 For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks upon the Son and believes in him should have unfading life, and I will raise them on the last day.”

…Jesus said he “will draw all” (Jn.12:32) and said - “All those in the tombs/graves will hear His voice and will come forth” (from the graves/tombs) “some into the resurrection of life (into THE millennium). And some into the resurrection of judgment” (Jn.5:28-29) which elsewhere He calls agelasting correction [“kolasin aionion” oR “eonian correction” Mt.25:46, the completing of drawing all.]

From New Testament Letters

     (In the Order Believed Written)

                  ~ Romans 12:1-9

1 - I (Paul) appeal to you therefore, brothers (it was a man’s world, what can I say? the greek word actually means “of the same parentage”). By the mercies of God! - present your bodies (and your self) as a living and sacred sacrifice to God, which is only reasonable. (Logical!) 2 Do not be conformed to thiS world/age. But be transformed by the renewal [anakain贸sis - renewal, change of heart and life, from anakaino贸 - to make new, which is from an谩 - up, completing a process, which intensifies kain艒 - make fresh, new, properly, a new development/renewal, achieved by God's power] of your mind, that you may be able to discern what is the will of God, and what is good and acceptable and perfect. 3 For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of their self more highly than they ought to, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has given. 4 For just like our body has many different parts, and the different parts or members, don’t all have the same function. 5 So us too, we believers, though many, are one body in Christ. And individually, we are members one of another. 6 We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, so let us use them. If we prophecy, it will be in proportion to our faith. 7 If our spiritual gift is in serving, let us do so. The one who teaches, by his/her teaching. 8 The one who encourages [parakale贸 - para - with and kaleo - call] by their encouraging. The one who gives and contributes, in generosity. The one who leads, with zeal! And the one who portrays mercy, with cheerfulness! 9 For love should be genuine! Abhor what is evil (harms) and hold fast to what is Good.
