MATTHEW 27 62-66

 a paraphrased ‘enter the story’

 ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ•Š️reading & study ๐Ÿ•Š️๐Ÿƒ

     06/03 - GospeL Verses

62 - After Preparation day (prep day for the Passover meal, eaten after sunset/start of a new day) the Hebrew leaders, the chief priests and the Pharisees, went before Pilate 63 and said, “Sir, we remember how that impostor said, while he was still alive, ‘After three days I will rise.’ 64 Therefore order the tomb to be made secure until the third day, lest his disciples go and steal him away and tell the people, ‘He has risen from the dead,’ and the last fraud will be worse than the first.”

65 Pilate told them, “You have a guard of soldiers, go and make it as secure as you can.” 66 So they went and made the tomb secure by sealing the stone, and setting a guard to watch.

Luke 22:7-16

 ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ•Š️11/08 - GospeL Verses ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ•Š️

       By Necessity Paraphrased

7 - Then came the days of unleavened (bread) when it was necessary the Passover lamb be sacrificed. {This is an important and crucial lesson - expressed as in a drama. The sacrifice hAd to be. Is it possible that anything less dramatic could not reach “aLL” - could not appease every conscience, including of the most cruel despots, etc.} [The days: Passover, a “preparation” day, for the meal on First Day of Unleavened Bread, which is the next day (actually evening, as the days begin at sunset rather than midnight).]

8 So Jesus sent Peter and John ahead saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat it.” {I think it was common for some to eat the meal on Passover?} 9 They said to him, “Where will you have us prepare it?” 10 He said, “When you have entered the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him into the house that he enters 11 and tell the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says, Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ 12 And he will show you a large upper room that is furnished. Prepare it there.” 13 And they went and found it just as he had said, and they prepared the Passover.

14 And when the hour came, he reclined at table, and the apostles with him. 15 And he said, “I have wanted to eat this Passover with you before my suffering. 16 For I tell you I will not eat of it again until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.”

 Gospel Verses ๐Ÿ“ฌ⭐️

    Matthew 26:14-19

14 Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the leading priests 15 and asked, “How much will you pay me to betray Jesus to you?” And they gave him thirty pieces of silver. 16 From that time on, Judas began looking for an opportunity to betray him.

17 On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, Jesus' disciples came to him and asked, "Where do you want us to prepare the Passover meal?" [The week - Spring holy week of three holy days (plus the weekly Sabbath, so also three “preparation days”) - was called either Passover, or Unleavened Bread, two of the holy days of the week. And begins with Passover the “preparation day” for First Day of Unleavened Bread, upon which is eaten the Passover meal, which we would think of as evening of that same day, as the days begin at sunset rather than at midnight. So I have come to think when he sends the two for the room, Passover/preparation day is beginning and the sun is setting.]

18 He said, "Go to a certain man in the city, and tell him that the teacher says, 'My time is near. I will observe the Passover with my disciples at your house.'” 19 So the disciples did as Jesus told them and began to prepare for Passover. [Greek to prepare #2090 not #2092 prepared.] (Which day began at sunset instead of at midnight.)

From New Testament Letters

          (In Order Written)

          Peter’s First Letter

        ~ 1 Peter 1:13-25 ~

13 Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope [elpis - expectation] - on the grace to be brought to you - when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. 14 As children of obedience, do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance [agnoia - not knowing]. 15 But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do. (It’s not beyond us, but depends on God’s changing and empowering grace. All of life is sacred. Besides it’s a goal, not yet a completed marurity.) 16 As it has been written: "You shall be holy, because I am holy." 17 You call him Father, when you pray. He judges all people by the same standard, according to what each one does, so spend the rest of your lives as pilgrims with reverence. 18 You were rescued and redeemed from the useless way of life you learned from your ancestors. But you know you were not ransomed with such things as silver or gold that doesn’t last, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. (The sacrifice system to appease - strong in the human psyche - appeases the fragile human conscience and psyche.) 20 He was appointed beforehand to this before the foundation of the world and was revealed in these late days for your sake. 21 Through him you believe in God - who raised him from the dead and glorified him - and so your faith and hope [elpis - expectation] are in God.

22 Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth, have sincere love for each other, loving one another deeply, from the heart. 23 For you have been born again, not of seed that perishes, but of imperishable seed. Through the living and enduring word/promises of God. 24 As the Scriptures say, “People are like grass. Their beauty like flowers in the field. Like the grass that withers, and the flower that fades. 25 But what the Lord has said will stand forever!” This word is the Good News that was told to you.
