Mark 11:1-10
[Mt. of Olives is higher than Mt. Zion by about 200 feet. And it’s straight east from Jerusalem overlooking the city. Zechariah wrote (14:4) “In that day, his feet will stand on Mt. of Olives ..and it will split in two from east to west, forming a great valley..”] (There’s been much made of the gospel accounts differing in details, but eye witness accounts always differ, and if they don’t authorities are suspicious. Since we just read Greek doctor Luke’s account yesterday.)
1 - As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent ahead two of his disciples, 2 saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of us, and just as you enter, you’ll find a colt tied there, which no one has yet ridden. Untie it and bring it here. 3 If anyone asks, ‘What are you doing?’ just say, ‘The Lord needs it and will return it soon.’” 4 And so they went and they found a colt tied at a door in the street, and they untied it. 5 And some of those standing there said to them, “What are you doing, untying that colt?” 6 They said what Jesus had told them to say, and they let them take it. 7 They brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks on it, and he sat on it. 8 Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches in the field and spread them on the road. 9 Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted, “Hosanna!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” 10 God bless the coming kingdom of our ancestor King David. Praise God in heaven above!"

~ Galatians 2:11-21 ~
11 When Peter came to Antioch, I (Paul) told him face to face that he was wrong. 12 When he first arrived, he ate with the Gentile believers, who were not circumcised. But afterward, when some friends of James came, Peter wouldn’t eat with the Gentiles anymore. He was afraid of criticism from those who insisted on the necessity of circumcision (for gentile Christians). 13 As a result, other Jewish believers followed Peter’s hypocrisy, and even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy. 14 When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter in front of all the others, “Since you, a Jew by birth, have discarded the Jewish laws and are living like a Gentile, how can you want Gentiles to live like Jews? 15 You and I are Jews by birth, not ‘sinners’ like the Gentiles.” (Sarcasm.) 16 Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For NO ONE will ever be made right (deemed righteous/innocent) with God by obeying the law.” (Life is a Gift, not earned as if God could OWE us.) 17 But suppose we seek to be made right with God through faith in Christ and then we are found guilty because we have abandoned the law? Would that mean Christ has led us into sin? Absolutely not! 18 For if I build up again the things which I have torn down - I - make myself a trespassser! 19 For when I tried to keep the law, it condemned me. So I died to the law—I stopped trying to meet all its requirements—so that I might live for/to God. 20 My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live now by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God. For if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died in vain!
