Mark 12:28-34
28 One of the teachers of religious law was standing there listening. He realized that Jesus had answered well, so he asked, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” 29 Jesus answered, “The foremost [prote, prΓ³tos - first, chief] is ‘Hear this O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One.’ (One God not many.) 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” 32 “Well said, teacher!” the man said. “You have spoken according to truth that He is One, and there is not another besides Him. 33 To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices!” 34 When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions.

~ Galatians 5:22-26 ~
22,23 - But the Holy Spirit (the Presence of God with us) produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such as this there is no law (required). 24 (For) Those who (genuinely) belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. (Including malice, competitiveness, self first, etc, etc.) 25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. 26 And let us not become conceited, or disparage one another, or be jealous of one another. [King James Version - “Let us not be desirous of vain glory” for it leads to “envying and provoking one another”.] (Competing ..which surely blinds us.)
