1 Corinthians 4:7-13

10/31 From New Testament Letters

(In the Order Believed Written)

    By Necessity Paraphrased

7 - So what is so wonderful about you? What do any of us have that we didn’t receive? And if we received it, why would we boast as if we didn’t receive it?

8 Already you have attained all! Already you have become richly blessed! Without us you have become kings! And would that you did reign, so that we might share the reigning with you! 9 Sometimes I think God has exhibited us apostles as last of all, like we are ones sentenced to death, for we have become a spectacle to the world, to angels, and to man. 10 We are fools for Jesus’ sake, but you are wise in Him. We are weak, but you are strong. You are held in honor, but we in disrepute. 11 To this present hour we hunger and thirst, we are poorly dressed, we are beat about and homeless, 12 and we also labor, working with our own hands. When insulted, we bless, when persecuted, we endure, 13 when slandered, we encourage and comfort. We have become, and are still, like the garbage of the world, the refuse of all things.
