10-15 - Gal 5 9-15 Luke 20 20-26

8TH ‘DAY’ CU Journal, New Testament In A Year

Verses paraphrased due to ©‘s [ref] {thots}

            ☀️ A.M. Galatians 5:9-15

9 - A little leaven (in this case, untruth) leavens the whole lump! 10 I have confidence in the Lord that you will take no other view than I’ve been writing, and the one who is troubling you will bear the consequences, whoever it is. {Untruth(s) cover the world like a wet, heavy quilt set low over the Earth. Piercing through is like whistling into howling winds?}

     11 But if I were still preaching circumcision/the Law, why am I being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been removed. 12 I wish whoever is unsettling you would go all the way and emasculate themselves!

     13 For you were called to freedom! Only don’t use your freedom as an opportunity for the selfish nature and transgression, but through love, to serve one another. 14 The whole and entire law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall LOVE - your fellow (person) as yourself.”

     15 But if you bite and devour one another, watch out! That you are not consumed by one another! {Bound to happen if the world’s politics comes BETWEEN believers.. the suspicion, accusation, labeling that political power’s do in self interest and political ambition. (Empire versus Kingdom?) And it’s not that we must be viewpoint clones in order for peace, unity, and LOVE to be preserved. To be lockstep would be cultish. We need to always be examining our own heart and fruits. Yes? Otherwise we may deceive ourselves and be misled?}

            πŸŒ™ P.M. LUKE 20:20-26

20 - The leaders watched Jesus. They sent spies, pretending to be sincere {in sheep’s clothing} so they might catch him in something he said. And then they would be able to deliver him up to the authority and jurisdiction of the Roman governor.

     21 So they asked him, “Teacher, we know that you teach and speak rightly, and show no partiality, but teach the true way of God. 22 Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar?” [To deny Caesar was punishable by death.]

     23 But he knew what they were up to. 24 “Show me a denarius,” he said. And looking at it he asked them, “Whose inscription and likeness is this?” They said, “Caesar's.” 25 Then he said, “So render to Caesar that which is Caesar's, and to God that which is God's.”

    26 After that, they didn’t say anything more, and marveled at his answer. They weren’t able to catch him in his words.
