    Paul’s Letter To The Philippians

[Paul’s first time at Philippi - Acts 16:9-40. They developed a strong bond] 12 - Therefore, my beloved, as you have always listened to my instructions for us, so now, not only when I’m there but much more so when I’m not. {For it’s all for and as toward the Lord, not a show to put on. For a happy creation there must be character. The greek root word of catharsis is something like, well katharsis, and it means “to be free of admixture.. no impurity” nothing noxious mixed in.} Work out {and ‘worry’ about} your - own - salvation [sΓ³tΓ©ria - welfare, prosperity, deliverance, preservation, salvation, safety] with fear [phobos - fear, terror, alarm, reverence, respect] {from fear, terror, to alarm to reverence, to respect.. I was going to put a question mark right there.. but I became convinced not to while writing it} and trembling [tromos - trembling or quaking, with fear or reverence; a metaphorical trembling that reflects a deep sense of awe especially in the presence of God] {which Presence is his Spirit (with us)}. 13 For it is God who works in you, to bring about the good pleasure of his will. {His perfect and profound blueprint. Profound in its simplicity and logic. All of it, perfect. God is Life and “is perfect” (Mt.5:48).

14 Do everything you have to do {in life} without grumbling or disputing, 15 so you may be blameless and innocent, children of God unmarred in the midst of a crooked and perverse age, among whom you shine as lights in the world, 16 as you hold fast to the word {message} of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be happy and proud that I did not run nor labor in vain. (In building these groups of believers. Jesus said, “make disciples in my name”.)

           Luke 5:17-26

(Luke’s account in other versions than Mark’s, yesterday’s verses.)

17 And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal. 18 And lo, men bearing upon a couch a man, who has been struck with palsy, and they were seeking to bring him in, and to place before him. 19 And not finding by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went up to the housetop, and let him down through the tiles with his couch into the midst before Jesus. [The houses had  flat roofs with stairways going up to them at the side of the house.] 20 And when he saw their faith, he said, “Man [anthrope] your sins are forgiven you!” 21 Those of the Pharisee party and the lawyers began thinking to themselves, “Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” 22 Jesus knew what they were thinking, so he asked them, “Why do you question this in your hearts? 23 Is it easier to say ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or ‘Stand up and walk’? [Which is easier -- to say, Thy sins have been forgiven thee? or to say, Arise, and walk?] 24 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” 25 Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. 26 And amazement [ekstasis - a displacement (of the mind), i.e. bewilderment, ecstasy] seized them all, and they glorified God and were filled with awe [phobos - (means both) fear, terror, alarm, (or) respect, reverence]. And they were saying, “We have seen extraordinary things today!”

       ~ Hebrews 10:14-17 ~

14 By one offering Jesus has perfected to the end [diΔ“nekΔ“s - from diΓ‘ - thoroughly, which intensifies diaphΓ©rō - to bear – properly, bear all the way across, in an unbroken (non-stop) fashion, to persist all the way, to the (intended) end] those sanctified [hagiazΓ³ - made holy, consecrated, sanctified (made sacred) hallowed, purified] (made whole, lacking what cause’s entropy/decay). 15 The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this with saying 16 "This is the covenant that I will make with them in the days to come, says the LORD, I will put my laws in their hearts and write them on their minds." 17 And adds, “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.”
