MATTHEW 5 38-48

   πŸƒπŸ•Š️01/18 - GospeL Verses πŸƒπŸ•Š️

(Jesus’ “Sermon on the Mountain” continued. It likely is representative of a few or many such occasions? So a sort of summary?) 38 - “You have heard it said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth?’ 39 I say to you, don’t resist evil. If someone should slap you on the right cheek, turn to them the other as well. 40 And if anyone would sue you and take your shirt, let them have your coat also. 41 If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two. 42 Give to the one who asks from you, and don’t refuse the one who would borrow.

     43 You have heard that it’s said, ‘You shall love your neighbor/fellow person, and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say, love your enemies and pray for those who misuse you! 45 So you may be sons and daughters of your Father who’s in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise upon both evil and good, and sends rain on just and unjust. 46 Because if you love only those who love you, what reward do you have? Don’t even the tax collectors do the same?” [Irony, Matthew, the author, was a tax collector before following Jesus.]

     47 “And if you greet only your brethren and friends, what more are you doing than others? Don’t even the Gentiles do the same? 48 You therefore must be perfect” {GOD’s work in us, and “he is faithful to complete the work” of making perfect} “as your heavenly Father” {who iS life} “is perfect”.

     {Perfect - means the question is, what is God doing, and how? And most importantly why.. It also means the ‘end’ result can only be the best, most perfect one possible. (The Greek word translated - the end, more closely means the “end-aim”.) He also, as life/the very life force, lives through all things that ever occur. And he endowed thinking and reasoning ability (to man and angel) anyway! All are bound to stray sooner or later.. Which can never work. Imperfect is entropy, this slow gehenna.) How do you create genuinely able to think and reason beings, aNd, keep paradise/perfection intact?

     “The lion will eat straw like the ox and the bear will graze with the cow” Isaiah 11:7. All creation and humanity will be “sealed” with God’s Spirit/Presence. But first Isaiah 24:20, Rev.10:4.}

MATTHEW 5 13-26

   πŸƒπŸ•Š️01/16 - GospeL Verses πŸƒ

(Jesus continues his teaching while sitting on the hillside, called “the Sermon on the Mountain”.) 13 - “You, are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its flavor, how shall it be restored? It’s no longer good for anything! Only to be thrown out and trampled under foot.

     14 You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill can’t be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket {or under the table} but on a stand, and it gives light to everyone [pas] in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine [“let the light of you shine”] so others see your good works and will glorify your Father in the heavens.

17 Don’t think I’ve come to abolish the Law. Or the Prophets. I’ve not come to do away, but to fulfill. 18 For truly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not a dot of an i, or a crossing of a t will pass from the Law until all of it is accomplished. 19 Anyone who does away with the least of these and teaches others to do so, they will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever shall keep and teach them, will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 Truly I tell you, if your righteousness does not abound - greater - than that of the scribes and Pharisees, you can not enter the kingdom of heaven.

     21 You’ve heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.’ 22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment, whoever insults his brother will be liable to the courts, and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the gehenna of fire. {Gehenna is a valley where the armageddon battle will be fought. To my mind, all fiery judgments are flare ups of this crucible ->imperfection, and its fruit, entropy.}

     23 So if you’re offering a gift at the ‘altar’ {including a gift of thanksgiving, sacrifice of praise, or whole burnt offering of our very being} and you remember that your brother or sister/fellow person has something against you. 24 Go and first be reconciled, and then offer your gift.

     25 Come to peace terms quickly with an accuser while you’re going with them to court, lest your accuser hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you be put in prison. 26 Truly, I tell you, you won’t get out untiL you pay the last penny you owe.

GospeL Verses ~ Matthew 7:21-29

Jesus concludes his teaching (sermon) on the mountain(side) — 21 - “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ enters the kingdom of heaven, only the one who (actually) does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in the day (at the door to “the” millennium/wedding celebration, Mt.25:1-13) ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? And cast out demons in your name? And do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then I will say to them, ‘I don’t know you, depart from me, workers of lawlessness.’ 24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and (actually) does them is like a wise person who built their house on the rock. 25 And the rains fell, the flood came, the winds blew and beat upon that house, but it didn’t fall, because it had been founded and built upon the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine, and doesn’t do them, is like a foolish person who built their house on sand, 27 and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.” 28 And thus did Jesus conclude these sayings, and the crowds marveled at his teaching, 29 for he was teaching them as one who had authority, and not as the scribes.

     (In the Order Believed Written)

            ~ Romans 3:19-23 ~

19 - We know that whatever the law says it speaks to those under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped (every objection silenced) and that all the world be accountable to God. (As opposed to if there were no law put forth.. don’t swear falsely, don’t bear false witness against, etc.) 20 But it is not by keeping the law that any human being will be justified in his sight. But through the law comes the knowing of what sin [hamartia - missing the mark] is. 21 But now the righteousness of God has been shown plainly- apart from the law - which the Law and the Prophets testify of it - 22 namely the righteousness (the pardon and new life) of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction, 23 all have transgressed. ALL fall short of the glory of God. (God is - surely? - Life, and he “is perfect” Mt.5:48, so the result/wage of missing the mark/imperfection is? ..Logically, the - opposite - of Life. So the remedy was built into creation “from the foundation/beginning”. A logical and organized process. “Perfect” makes no mistakes. “Perfect” cannot lose anything.)
