GospeL Verses ~ Luke 3:7-14
7 - He (“John the Baptist”) said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath that is coming? 8 Bear fruits in keeping with repentance. And don’t just say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father’!” (Or ‘I go to church on Sunday’ or ‘Didn’t I give to missions?’ etc.) “For I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children to Abraham. 9 Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees! Every tree that doesn’t bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into a fire.” [Earthly. John the Baptizer was prophesying of 70 CE.]
10 And the crowds asked him, “What then shall we do?” 11 And he answered, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none. And whoever has food, do likewise.” 12 Tax collectors also came to be baptized and they asked him, “Teacher, what shall we do?” 13 And he said, “Collect no more than you are supposed to!” 14 Soldiers also asked him, and he said, “Don’t demand money from anyone by threats or by falsely accusing. And be content with your wages!”

11 - Now if perfection had been attainable through the Levitical priesthood (Heb.11:40) - for under it the people received the law - what further need would there have been for another priest to arise after the order of Melchizedek, rather than one named after the priestly order of Aaron? 12 For when there is a change in the priesthood, there is a change in the law as well.
