GospeL Verses ~ Luke 7:24-35

24 - Then, when John's messengers had gone, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed, that is shaken by the wind? 25 What then? A man dressed in expensive clothes? Behold, those who are dressed in splendid clothing and live in luxury are in kings' houses. 26 What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet! 27 This is he of whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before you, who will prepare the way for you.’

28 I tell you, among those born of women none is greater than John. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” 29 When all the people heard this, and the tax collectors too, they declared God just. They had been baptized with the baptism of John, 30 but the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the purpose of God, and they were not baptized by him. (They, being special, wouldn’t need thAt! To wash away sins and flaws.) 31 “To what then shall I compare the people of this generation? What are they like? 32 They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling to one another, ‘We played the flute for you, but you didn’t dance, we sang a lament, but you did not weep.’ 33 For John the Baptist has come eating no bread and drinking no wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ 34 The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ 35 But wisdom is justified by all its children.” (Verses 28, 29? - “I tell you, among those born of women none is greater than John. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” When all the people heard this, and the tax collectors too, they declared God just..” Truth bears witness of itself.)

From New Testament Letters

     (In the Order Believed Written)

                ~ Hebrews 11:22-33 ~

22 - It was by faith that Joseph at the end of his life [in Egypt] made mention of the exodus of the Israelites and gave directions concerning his bones. 23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents. They were not afraid of the king's edict. 24 By faith Moses, when he was grown, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, 25 choosing instead to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of a sinful world. 26 He considered, to be reproached for Christ, was greater wealth than all the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward [misthapodosia - payment of wages, properly corresponding compensation] (cause and effect, fruit, harvest). 27 And by faith he left Egypt, not being afraid of the king’s anger. He endured for he saw he who is invisible. 28 By faith he kept the Passover and ordered the sprinkling of the blood as God said, so that the Destroyer of the firstborn might not touch those houses. 29 By faith the people crossed the Red Sea as if on dry land, but the Egyptians, when they attempted to give chase, were drowned. 30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they had been encircled for seven days. 31 By faith Rahab the prostitute didn’t perish with those who refused to believe, because she had given a friendly welcome to the spies (of the kingdom).

32 And what more shall I say? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel, and the prophets, 33 who through faith overcame kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions.. (Lk.7:28,29 - “I tell you, among those born of women none is greater than John. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.”)
