GospeL Verses ~ Luke 7:36-50
36 - One of the Pharisees invited Jesus to a meal, so he went into the Pharisee's house and reclined at table. 37 Soon, a woman of the city, who was notorious, when she had learned that he was reclining at table in the Pharisee's house, she brought in an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, 38 and standing behind him at his feet, weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears, wiped them with her hair and kissed his feet and anointed them with the oil. 39 Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, ‘If this man were a prophet, he would know who and what sort of woman this is, who is touching him, for she is a sinner.’ 40 But Jesus knowing his thoughts, said to him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” And he answered, “Say it, Teacher.”
41 “A certain moneylender had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. 42 When they couldn’t pay, he cancelled both of their debts. Now which one of them will love him more?” 43 Simon answered, “I suppose, the one for whom he cancelled the larger debt.” And Jesus said, “You have judged rightly.” 44 Then turning to the woman he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house and you gave me no water for my feet [it was a polite custom, as travel was by foot and the feet became hot and dusty] but she has wet my feet with her tears, and wiped them with her hair. 45 You gave me no kiss, but from the time I came in she has not ceased to kiss my feet. 46 You didn’t anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet. 47 Therefore I tell you, her sins which are many, are forgiven, for she loves much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little.” 48 And he said to the woman, “Your sins are forgiven.” 49 Then those who were at table with him began to say among themselves, “Who is this? Who even forgives sins?” 50 And he said to the woman, “Your faith (believing) has saved you, go in peace.”

From New Testament Letters
(In the Order Believed Written)
~ Hebrews 11:34-40 ~
34 - By faith/believing the ancients quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, were made strong out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight. 35 Women received back their dead by resurrection. Some were tortured, refusing to accept release, so they might rise in a better resurrection. 36 Others suffered insult, mocking and flogging, even chains and imprisonment. 37 They were stoned, they were tried (slandered, accused) they were sawn in two, they were killed with the sword! They went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, mistreated, 38 of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered about in deserts and mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
39 And all these, though commended because of their faith, they did not receive what was promised, 40 since God has planned something better! That - apart from us - they should not (yet) be made perfect. [1Thes.4:13-18.]
