GospeL Verses ~ Luke 7:11-23

11 - Soon Jesus and his disciples were on the way to Nain, while a great crowd was following along. 12 As they drew near to the town gate, there was a young man who had died and was being carried out, the only son of his mother. She was a widow, and a large crowd from the town was with her. 13 And when the Lord saw her, he felt sympathy for her. He said to her, “Don’t weep” 14 and he came up and touched the bier. And so the bearers stood still, and he said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” 15 And the dead man sat up and started talking, and Jesus gave him to his mother. 16 Fearful amazement seized them all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has risen among us!” and “God has visited his people!”

17 This report about Jesus spread through the whole of Judea and all the surrounding countryside. 18 And the disciples of John reported all these things to him. And so John 19 called two of his disciples to him and sent them to the Lord, to say, “Are you the one who is to come? Or shall we look for another?” 20 When they came to Jesus, they said, “John the Baptist has sent us to you, saying, ‘Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?’” 21 In that very hour Jesus had healed many people of diseases, plagues, and evil spirits, and on many who were blind he had bestowed sight. 22 So he answered, “Go and tell John what you have seen and heard - that the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up.” (I’m convinced this is a slice and example of GWT ‘day’/age.) “The poor have good news preached to them. 23 And blessed are those not offended by me.” (Though of course some will rise into GWT judgment ‘day’ initially, as portrayed in the rich man and Lazarus parable and in the outside of the vision narrative of Rev.22 - the inner, outside of the light darkness and gnashing of teeth, but will progress, to weeping, beating self up.. to heartfelt remorse - imagine the heartless cruel ones, despots, traffickers.. for some, gut wrenching remorse. Which is just as it should be. GWT ‘day’ being a day of closure for all, and all things.. Surely?)

From New Testament Letters

     (In the Order Believed Written)

                ~ Hebrews 11:17-21 ~

17 - By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac. (A portrayal of the heavenly Father and Son, lest we take it lightly, and a test for Abraham.) And he who had received the promises, was in the act of offering up his only son, whom he was to receive the promises through! 18 For God had said, “Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.” 19 (Logically then) he considered God was able even to raise him from the dead, from which, figuratively speaking, he did receive him back.

20 And by faith Isaac invoked future blessings upon Jacob and Esau. 21 By faith Jacob, when dying, blessed each of the (twelve) sons of Joseph, while bowing in worship over the head of his staff.
