GospeL Verses ~ Luke 8:26-39

26 - After that they sailed to the country of the Gerasenes, which is on the opposite shore from Galilee. 27 When Jesus had first stepped out onto land, there met him a man from the city who had demons. For a long time he hadn’t lived in a house but among the tombs, and he wore no clothes. 28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down before him, and said in a loud voice, “What have you to do with me! Jesus! Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don’t torment me.” 29 For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and he was kept under guard and bound with chains and shackles. But he would break the bonds and be driven by the demon into the desert. 30 Jesus then asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, “Legion,” for it was many demons that had entered into him. 31 And they begged him not to order them into the abyss. 32  A large herd of pigs were feeding on a hillside nearby, so they begged him to let them enter them. And so he let them, 33 and the demons came out of the man and into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and drowned.

34 Now when the herdsmen saw what had happened, they ran and told everyone in the countryside and in the city. 35 So people went out to see what had happened, and when they came to Jesus, they found the man from whom the demons had gone, sitting at his feet, clothed and in his right mind, and it made them afraid. 36 And those who saw what had happened told them how the demon possessed man had been healed. 37 Then the people of the surrounding area of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to leave them, for they were under great fear. So he got into the boat and returned to the other side. 38 The man from whom the demons had gone wanted to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, 39 “Go home, and tell everyone how much God has done for you.” And so he went away, telling throughout the whole land how much Jesus had done for him.

From New Testament Letters

     (In the Order Believed Written)

                ~ 1 John 1:1-4 ~

1 John, 2 John and 3 John are letters written by the disciple/apostle John, who also wrote the “Gospel According to John” and the Book of Revelation. He’s the only one of the twelve who lived to an old age, which is when he wrote these letters and Revelation.

1 - That which was from the beginning, which we (apostles) have heard, which we saw with our eyes, and looked upon and have touched with our hands. [After resurrection Jesus said “touch me and see that I have flesh and bones”.] Concerning the word of life. 2 The life was made visible, and we saw it, and testify to it, and proclaim it to you, which was with the Father and was made known to us. 3 That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us. And indeed our fellowship (friendship/visiting) is with the Father and with his Son Jesus. 4 And I am writing these things so that the joy we have may be complete.
