GospeL Verses ~ Luke 9:37-45
37 - On the next day, when Jesus, John, James and Peter came down from the mountain, a great crowd met them. 38 And a man from the crowd cried out, “Teacher! Please come and look at my son! He is my only child! 39 A spirit seizes him, and he suddenly cries out and it convulses him so bad that he foams at the mouth! It bruises him, and will hardly leave him. 40 And I asked your disciples to cast it out, but they couldn’t.” 41 Jesus answered, “O unbelieving and distorted generation (humans) how long am I to be with you to carry you? Bring your son here.” 42 And while he was coming, the demon threw him to the ground and convulsed him. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the boy, and gave him back to his father. 43 And the crowd was astonished at the majesty of God. But while they were all marveling at everything he was doing, Jesus said to his disciples, 44 “Pay attention to these words, let them sink into your ears - the Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of man.” 45 But they didn’t understand what he was saying. It was hidden from their understanding, and they were afraid to ask him about it.

~ 1John 5:14-21 ~
14 - And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything - according to his will - he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us, we know we have the requests we’ve asked of him.
16 If anyone sees his fellow believer committing sin not unto death, they shall ask, and God will give them (repentance unto) life. But sin unto death I’m not talking about. 17 All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin (“missing the mark”) that does not lead to death. (That’s good because we are none of us “perfect” and totally hitting the mark - not yet!)
18 For we know that everyone who has been born of God does noT keep on sinning, for God protects them, and the evil one does not touch them. 19 We know that we are from God, but the world lies in the POWER of the evil one.
20 And we know that the Son of God has come and given us understanding, so that we may know he who is true. And we are in he who is true, through his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and is the enduring life. 21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
