GospeL Verses ~ Luke 9:10-17

10 - On the disciple’s return from being sent out, they told Jesus all that they had done. Then they went on with him to a town called Bethsaida. 11 And when the people learned it, they came to him, and he welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God and cured those who had need of healing. 12 Now the day began to be late, and the twelve came and said, “Send the crowd away to go to the surrounding villages and countryside to find lodging and get provisions, for we are here in a desolate place.” 13 But he said, “You give them something to eat.” But they said, “We have only five loaves and two fish, unless we are to go and buy food for all these people.” 14 For there were about five thousand. And he said to his disciples, “Have them sit down in groups of about fifty each.” 15 And so they did, 16 and taking the five loaves and the two fish, Jesus looked up to heaven and said a blessing. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to pass out to the people. 17 And they all ate and were satisfied, and they picked up what was left over, which was twelve baskets of broken pieces. (Without him we are all baskets of broken pieces.. Basket cases! In one way or another, and in many ways.)

1 - See what kind of love the Father has given to us! That we should be called his children, and so we are. The reason why the world doesn’t know (understand) us is that it does not know him. 2 Beloved, we are God's children, but we do not yet know all that we shall be, but we know that when he appears we will be like him, for we shall see [horaó - see, perceive, attend to] him as he is.
