Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 10:13-20

13 - “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida!” Jesus said, “For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have turned long ago, and sat in sackcloth and ashes.14 But it will be more bearable” [anektoteros - more tolerable, from anรฉxomai - ana - up, completing a process, and exล - to have] (will be better) “for Tyre and Sidon than for you” (during completion of the process) “in the judgment. 15 And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You shall be brought down to Hades.

16 The one who hears [akouรณ - hears, listens, comprehends by hearing] you hears me, and the one who rejects [atheteรณ - sets aside, does away with] you sets aside me, and the one who sets aside me, sets aside he who sent me.”

17 And when the seventy-two returned, with joy, they said, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” 18 And Jesus said, “I beheld Satan [satanas - adversary] as lightning fall from heaven. 19 And see, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy [exthrรณs - hostility, and deep rooted hatred, resolved to inflict harm] and nothing shall harm you.

20 Nevertheless, don’t rejoice at this - that the spirits are subject to you - but rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

                ~ James 3:1-2 ~

1 - Not many should become teachers, my brethren, knowing we will receive greater judgment. 2 For we all stumble in many ways. But if we don’t stumble in what we say, we are a completed  person, able to bridle the whole body. [Including that unruly member, the tongue! Verses 5-10.]
