10-18 - LUKE 20 41-47

scriptures paraphrased to post

  πŸ•Š️a reading & study πŸ•Š️

[When the Pharisees, scribes and some elders (leaders, authorities) had come and asked him “by what authority do you do these things?” (Teach the people, and he had overturned the tables of those selling in the temple courts] 21 his answer to them was {a riddle} - “How is it said that the Christ is David's son? 42 For David says in the Book of Psalms, ‘The LORD said to my Lord, sit here at my right hand, 43 until I make your enemies your footstool.’ 44 If David calls him Lord, how is he his son?”

     45 And in the hearing of all the people he told his disciples, 46 “Beware of scribes {authorities} who like to walk around in long robes, love greetings in the marketplaces. Love to have the best seats in the meeting places, and the places of honor at feasts. 47 But who devour widows' houses {do evil} and for a show and pretense, make lengthy prayers. They shall receive a sterner judgment.” {Of course! And ultimately, what judgment works best? Father, creator, God “is perfect” Mt.5:48.}
