06-18 - From Heb-3 Lk-1

N.Testament & Prophecy Advanced CU Study, verses paraphrased  [ ] references { } thots

Hebrews 3:7-11  Luke 1:26-38

            ☀️ A.M. Hebrews 3:12-19

12 - Take care, brothers and sisters that no one ave an evil [ponéros - evil, wicked, bad, malicious, harmful] unbelieving heart, which can lead you to falling away from the living God. 13 Instead encourage and exhort one another every day, as long as it’s called “today,” that none may be hardened by the misleading trickiness of sin.

{And imperfection itself, for the word is “hamartia” - “missing the mark” of Life(!) because God is Life and also “is perfect” so imperfect is entropy, a process that “doesn’t quit”. “GOD has consigned all to disobedience” Ro.11:32, altogether at once. A ‘quick’ one and done, because an ant farm is no paradise?} [Hamartía - derived from A "not" and méros - part, share of – so properly, no-share, no part of, loss, forfeiture, because not hitting the target. A target we cannot possibly attain to on our own. And we are all in the same boat.]

14 For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed, we hold our original confidence, firm to the end [telos - end, purpose, goal, completion, fulfillment; from tel - reaching the “end-aim”].

15 As it’s said, “Today! - If you hear his voice, don’t harden your heart as in the rebellion.”

16 For who were those who heard, and yet rebelled? Was it not all those who left Egypt, led by Moses? 17 And with whom was he grieved for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned and fell in the wilderness? 18 And to who moreover did he swear [omnuó - to swear, take an oath] (they) would not enter his rest, if not to those who refused him? [Apeithéō – disobeyed, literally, refuse to be persuaded (by the Lord), not allow oneself to be persuaded, to not comply with, withhold belief.]

19 So we see that they were unable to enter because of disbelief. [But! Jn.12:32, because 1Tim.4:10. Rev.20 is told like describing crests of waves and not much of the in between.]

            🌙 P.M. Luke 1:39-45

39 - In those days Mary went with haste into the hill country, to a town in Judah. 40 And she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth.

4 When Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby in her womb leaped! And she was filled with the Holy Spirit{/Presence of God}. 42 And she exclaimed, “Blessed are you among women! And blessed is the fruit of your womb! 43 Why is this granted to me? That the mother of my Lord should come here! 44 For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy! 45 Blessed is she who believed there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the LORD!”

02-19 - Ro-11 Mt-14

🗝️s New Testament & Bible prophecy study, verses paraphrased [ ] references { } thots

 • Romans 11:1-6  Matthew 14:15-21 and ACTS 17:1-14 separately

           ☀️ Romans 11:1-6

{A little Greek word, “telos, tel” root of telescope, I read years ago in a commentary, was a perfect illustration of how prophecy is fulfilled. Tel, telos is interpreted “end” as in the end, but it more closely means the “end-aim”. And prophecy, like a telescope is fulfilled from smaller scope to full scope at the end-aim of it. Like Israel “all we like sheep have gone astray” as smaller scope, to all humanity, full scope. Prophecy is the same, from ‘smaller’ scope to full scope at the culmination of this unavoidable one and done. Same with the advents!}

1 - I ask, then, has God rejected his people? By no means! For I myself (Paul) am an Israelite. A descendant of Abraham and a member of the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God has not rejected his people which he foreknew {would happen?} Do you know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he appeals to God about Israel? 3 “Lord, they have killed your prophets! They have demolished your altars! And only I am left! And they seek my life.” 4 But what is God's reply? “I have kept for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” 5 So too, at the present time there’s a remnant, chosen by grace. 6 But if it’s by grace, it’s no longer on the basis of self effort, otherwise grace wouldn’t be grace.

            🌙 Matthew 14:15-21

(This reading schedule is the four gospels into two six month readings, so there is sometimes repetition.) 15 - As evening was approaching, the disciples came to Jesus and said, “This is a lonely place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages to buy food.”

16 Jesus said, “They don’t need to go. You can give them something to eat.” 17 They answered, “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish.” 18 “Bring them to me,” Jesus said. 19 He had the people sit down on the grass, and taking the five loaves and the two fish, looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves, and gave the bread and fish to the disciples, and the disciples passed it out to the people. 20 And they all ate and were satisfied. The disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. 21 The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.

The Kingdom of Peace

☀️🌷🦅 This morning I read Psalm 65, in the Contemporary English Version, and then I asked our father “is that a vision of how the kingdom will be?” Then I saw a red headed woodpecker, which I haven’t seen one for at least two years. Call me silly but I took that to be a yes.  Saw a hummingbird too.

“The kingdom”. News folks can get their teeth into. Contributes to a good, solid pair of boots, standing on The Rock of Truth. The bible is a simple story.. of what it is God is doing and how. But most importantly why. And of what it is God is creating.. A sort of paradox being, how do you create genuinely able to think and reason beings (angelos and anthropos) aNd keep paradise/perfection intact? The ‘problem’ being thinking includes at least some power of choice.

Logically, it seems to me, there are two opposite options(?) A Total Ant Farm, no thinking beings thus no choices other than God’s all knowing choices, ever. Or what is needed? Is Total Herd Immunity.. From straying which is to become imperfect - this world and lifetime as the all important contrast, a ‘parable’ of the decomposing ‘apple’ and the worm that does noT quit. As straying from God and His will can never work, because He is Life, and he “is perfect” Mt.5:48. So imperfect - hamartia - “missing the mark” translated sin, results in the exact opposite of Life. And is an abyss of potential.

Which “perfect” is Great News indeed! Life hAs to be perfect. And the ‘end’ result of all this, can only be the utter, best one possible.

“End” in the New Testament is translated from “tel/telos” which more closely means “end-aim”. And(!) I read in a commentary, some time ago, how that little word also portrays how prophecy, and I add the kingdom of peace, progresses. “Tel” being the root of “telescope”. That all is fulfilled in widening “scopes” until reaching full scope. Or, like widening ripples of a pond until teaching full pond. (Think the advents of the Lord.)

When we realize lake of fire is not a ‘place’ but event, and is far from being anything neverending.. We can more clearly see the kingdom - of peace. Misunderstanding lake of fire is hiding a lot of Glory.

Surely during the Lord’s long second advent, he will do the same works he did during his brief first one! A wider pond ripple.. Until he has indeed, “drawn all” (Jn.12:32). But this time with helpers, serving, called reigning. For surely(?) to do his works is to reign.

I think right now, we are still at Rev.7:1,3 - and - 9,4. We are being “sealed” (heart and) mind. The importance of that “sealing up” being revealed in the parable of the ten bridesmaids - Mt.25:1-13. What is the door in the parable to?
