30 - A little while later, when at a table with them, Jesus picked up the bread, broke it, blessed it and gave it to them. 31 And their eyes were opened, and they recognized who he was. And then he vanished from their sight. 32 They said to one another, “Didn’t our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road? While he was opening to us the Scriptures!” 33 And they rose that very hour and returned to Jerusalem and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, 34 who told them, “The Lord has risen indeed! He has appeared to Simon!” 35 So they told them what had happened on the road, and how they recognized him in the breaking of the bread.

20 - But you, beloved, build yourselves up in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit. 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God while you are waiting for the mercy [eleos - mercy, pity, compassion, covenant loyalty] of our Lord Jesus unto enduring life. 22 Have patience with those who doubt, 23 save others as if snatching them out of fire, and to others show mercy - but with caution - as though in contact with a corpse! 24 And now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to joyfully present you to God blameless in his glorious presence. 25 To the only God - our Savior - through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and to all the ages.
