GospeL Verses ~ Matthew 27:50-61

50 - Jesus cried out loudly and yielded up his spirit [pneuma - wind, breath, spirit]. 51 And right then, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. (Patterns repeat: “Destroy this temple and I will rebuild it in three days”! Two thousand years, things continue to run their course, then “the” millennium.) And the earth shook, and rocks were split. (The carnal heart is toward God, like stone.) 52 The tombs also were opened. And many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, 53 after his resurrection they came out of the tombs and went into the holy city appearing to many. [From a commentary - “To whom they appeared, in what manner, and how they disappeared, whether they again died or ascended to heaven, is not revealed, and conjecture is vain.. to convince the Jews that he was the Messiah.] (At Jesus’ death the graves were opened, after three days, they rose - the grape harvest, after three millennium - 1Cor.15:23,28; Rev.21:5 greek word “pas” as “all” not only “all things” as translated.) 54 When the Roman centurion and those who were with him keeping watch, saw the earthquake and all that took place, they were filled with awe and said, “Truly this was a Son of God!” 55 There were also many women there, looking on from a distance. They had followed Jesus from Galilee and ministered to him out of their resources, 56 among these were Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joseph (wife of Clopas?) also the mother of the sons of Zebedee. (John and James.)

57 When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who also was a disciple of Jesus. 58 He went to Pilate and asked for his body. And Pilate ordered it to be given to him. 59 And Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen shroud 60 and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had cut into the rock. Then he rolled a great stone over the entrance and went away. 61 And Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were there, sitting a ways from the tomb. [Luke 23:54-56 says, “it was the day of Preparation (Passover) and the Sabbath (1st Day of Unleavened Bread) was beginning. The women who had come with him from Galilee followed and saw the tomb and how his body was laid. Then they returned to prepare spices and ointments. (But) On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.] (Jesus in the grave Wednesday evening, was a Sabbath until Thursday evening so the women rested and prepared spices on Friday, until regular weekly Sabbath began at sunset. So rested Saturday, and went to the grave Sunday morning - which was the third holy day of Passover/Unleavened Bread Week - called Firstfruits.)

From New Testament Letters

     (In the Order Believed Written)

                ~ 2 Timothy 3:8-17 ~

8 - Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these also oppose the truth, being corrupt of mind and so are counterfeit regarding the faith. 9 But they will not get very far, for their folly will become evident to all, as it did with those two. 10 You, however, have heard and seen my teaching, my behavior and aim in life, my faith and patience, my love and steadfastness, 11 and my persecutions and sufferings that occurred at Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra—which persecutions I endured. And how the Lord rescued me from them all. 12 Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Jesus will be persecuted, 13 all while evil people and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned, in what you have firmly believed, knowing from who you learned it. 15 And how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise unto all safety and deliverance through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All [pas] Scripture has been breathed out by God [theopneustos - God-breathed, i.e. inspired by God, from theos - God, and pneo - breathe out] and is for teaching, convincing and correction. And for training - 17 that the person of God may be complete, and equipped for every good work.
