LUKE 11 5-13

5 - (His disciples had said, “Lord teach us to pray..) Jesus said to them, “Which of you who has a friend will go to them at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves, 6 someone has arrived on a long journey, and I have nothing to set before them’. 7 And the friend will answer, ‘Don’t bother me, the door is shut, my children are with me in bed and I cannot get up and give you anything’? 8 I tell you, though they will not get up and give you anything because they are your friend, if you insist, they will rise and give you whatever you need. 9 And so I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For whoever will ask, will receive. Whoever seeks will find. And to whoever knocks, it will be opened. 11 What parent among you, if their child asks for a fish, will instead give them a serpent? 12 Or if they ask for an egg, will give them a scorpion? 13 If you then, who are evil [ponéros - evil, bad, wicked, malicious, slothful; from pónos - pain, laborious trouble] know how to give good gifts to your children - how much more, will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” {The answer to all things.}
