MATTHEW 26 30-46

 a paraphrased ‘enter the story’

     05/22 - GospeL Verses

30 - And when they had sung a hymn, they went out of the city to the mountainside of olives. 31 Then Jesus said, “You will all fall away this night. For it’s written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’ 32 But after I’m raised, I will go before you to Galilee.”

33 Peter said, “Though they all fall away from you, I will never fall away!” 34 Jesus said to him, “Truly, I tell you, this very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” 35 Peter said, “Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you!” And all the disciples said the same.

36 Then they went to the garden called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here, while I go a little ways to pray.” 37 And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee (John and James) he began to be troubled and sorrowful. 38 And he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death. {I feel like it’s killing me.} Remain here, and watch [grΓ©goreΓ³ - watch, be vigilant, stay awake] with me.” 39 And going a little further, he fell upon his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me. But, not as I will, as you will.” {Something strong enough to appease eveRy conscience. After all, imperfection, besides being entropy/gehenna, is an abyss of potential. Already proven many times.} 40 And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “Could you not watch with me for one hour? 41 Watch and pray you don’t enter into temptation for the spirit is willing, but human nature is weak.” {And easily led away?} 42 Again, for a second time, he prayed, “My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, let your will be done.” 43 And again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. 44 So, leaving them again, he prayed for a third time, saying the same words. 45 Then he came to the disciples and said, “You’ll have to sleep and take your rest later, see the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. 46 Rise, let us be going. My betrayer is at hand.”

MARK 14:26-42 or LUKE 22:39-46

 Universalism in the New Testament

 πŸƒπŸ•Š️11/22 - GospeL Verses πŸ•Š️πŸƒ

26 - And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. 27 And Jesus said, “You will all fall away, for it’s written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’ 28 But after I’m raised up, I’ll go before you to Galilee.” 29 Peter said, “Even though they all fall away, I never will.” 30 But Jesus said, “Truly, I tell you, this very night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” 31 But Peter repeated, “If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” And they all said the same. (This was true later, after Pentecost.)

32 And they went to a garden/park called Gethsemane. And he said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” 33 And he took with him Peter, James and John, and became very troubled. 34 And said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death. Remain here and watch.” (Be sober, be vigilant.) 35 And going a little further, he fell down upon the earth and prayed if it were possible, the hour might pass from him, 36 saying, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. But not my will, but your will be done.” 37 And he came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “Simon, are you asleep? Could you not watch one hour? 38 Watch and pray, the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” 39 And again he went a little distance and prayed, saying the same words. 40 And he returned and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy, and they didn’t know what to say to him in answer. 41 And he came the third time and said, “Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? It’s enough. The hour is come. The Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. 42 Rise, let us be going, my betrayer is at hand.”

[Sin/Hamartia - “missing the mark” {of Perfection, thus this entropy, this crucible/slow gehenna, imperfection. Because God iS Life, and “is Perfect” Mt.5:48. And therefore the ‘end’ result of all this, can only be the best one possible. And imperfect can never work.}]

LUKE 22:39 (Luke was a Greek physician, not one of the twelve.) - And he went as was his custom, to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples also. 40 And when he came to the place, he said, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.” 41 And he went about a stone's throw away, and knelt down and prayed, 42 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours.” 43 And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him. 44 And being in torment he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling to the ground. 45 And when he rose from prayer, he came to the disciples and found them sleeping for weariness, 46 and he said to them, “Why are you sleeping? Rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation.”

                ~ 2 Peter 2:1-7 ~
1 - Now remember, how false prophets [pseudoprophΓ©tΓ©s] arose among the people. There will be false teachers [pseudodidaskalos] also among you. (Translators ever choosing the most harsh interpretations, changing “all” to “all things”, changing words, putting an ancient pre-biblical and cruel myth into the message of God.) They will secretly bring in ruinous heresies. And will even deny the master who bought them [agorΓ‘zō - the marketplace, stresses transfer]. And so bringing upon theirselves impending loss and ruin. 2 And many will follow after their lawlessness and self seeking, and will cause the way of truth to be slandered [blasphΔ“mos - from blax - sluggish, slow, and phαΈ—mΔ“ - reputation, fame – properly, refusing to acknowledge good/worthy of respect]. 3 And in their greed they will exploit you with fabricated words, for whom the judgment, from long ago, is not idle, and the ruin of them is not asleep. 4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but in chains - of darkness - cast them into “tartarus” [deepest darkness, and a Greek mythical place] being kept for judgment. 5 If he didn’t spare the ancient world, except eight, including Noah, a preacher of righteousness (preaching via “the Spirit while the ark was being built” 1Pet.3:19) when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly. (Death to God is not what it is to us. God sees all of time at once. And death is his taking out and transplanting elsewhere. There’s the two sections of his garden and harvest. The overgrown with weeds, at times fully overgrown, a choked to death garden.. the little plants.. trampled. .. Pull out the bramble weeds.. make them to be as seed, plant them in the soil of the other section of newly turned soil. All the seeds.. Waiting.) 6 And as the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, bringing them to ashes and ruin, which serve as an example of what is coming upon the world of ungodliness, 7 wherein he rescued righteous Lot (on the same day) who was greatly distressed by the lawless conduct of wickedness.

      “Why Are You Sleeping?”

Paraphrased w/ some CU comments.

   Mark 14:26-42 or Luke 22:39-46

Neither Mark nor Luke were there, so they are writing someone else’s account - Mark for Peter? - or they interviewed ones who were there.

Mk.14:26 - When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. 27 “You will all fall away,” Jesus told them, “for it’s written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’ 28 But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.” 29 Then Peter declared, “Even if all fall away, I will not!” 30 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “today, yes, tonight, before the rooster crows twice you will disown me three times.” 31 But Peter insisted, “Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” And all the others said the same. 32 They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” 33 He took Peter, James and John with him, and he began to be deeply troubled. 34 “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death,” he said to them. “Stay here and keep watch.” 35 Going farther, he fell to his knees and prayed if possible the hour might not come to pass. 36 “Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” 37 Then he returned to his disciples and finding them asleep said, “Simon, are you sleeping? Couldn’t you keep watch for one hour? 38 Watch and pray that you not fall into temptation, for the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” 39 And again he went away and prayed the same. 40 When he came back, he found them again sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. And they didn’t know what to say to him. 41 Then returning the third time, he said, “Are you still sleeping and resting? The hour has come. Look, the Son of Man is delivered into the hands of sinners. 42 Rise, let us go, my betrayer has come.”

     — Luke 22:39 — Jesus went out with his (eleven, Jn.18:2) disciples, as he had been doing each evening, to the Mount of Olives. 40 And he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.” 41 He went about a stone’s throw away and knelt down in prayer, saying 42 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me. yet not my will, but yours be done.” 43 An angel from heaven appeared and strengthened him. 44 Praying earnestly and in so much anguish, his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. (Luke was a Greek doctor, this is a true, but rare, medical condition.) 45 When he rose up from prayer, he went back to the disciples and found them sleeping, exhausted from grief. 46 “Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Pray, so you will not fall into temptation.”

   ~ 1 Corinthians 11:11-16 ~

11 However! In the Lord, neither is woman separate from man, nor man separate from woman. 12 For as woman was made from man, so now, man is born of woman! And all things (being equal? all) are from God. 13 Judge for yourselves, is it proper (custom in that day) for a woman to pray to God without her head covered? 14 Isn't it unnatural and disgraceful for men to have long hair? (πŸ€”Naturally, hair grows. Also what about Samson? So again, custom.) 15 But on a woman it is a thing of beauty, and her hair is given to her to serve as a covering. 16 But if anyone wants to argue about this, all I have to say is that neither we nor the churches of God have any other custom in worship. (πŸ—️ Paul is answering another question they had asked in a letter, key conclusion, they shouldn’t be in division and dispute about these things. πŸ€”Is this a reason why, for so long, so many ladies wore so many strange hats?? When I was a child, the hats had come down to earth a little! Now, if we find ourselves disagreeing with Paul on these issues, it doesn’t mean we should throw our bibles away! We can clearly tell God gave to Paul great insights and revelations about God’s message and program/administration, that are a gift to us all.)
