GospeL Verses ~ Matthew 16:1-12

1 - Some who were of the Pharisee and Sadducee parties came to test him, and asked him to show them a sign from heaven. 2 He answered them saying, “When it’s evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’ 3 Or in the morning you say, ‘It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ You know how to interpret the signs of the sky, but you don’t see the signs of the times. 4 An evil and unfaithful generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” So he left there and departed for the other side of Lake Galilee. 5 When they reached the other side, the disciples had forgotten to bring any bread. 6 Jesus said, “Keep a watch and beware the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” 7 And they began discussing among themselves, saying, “We forgot to bring bread.” 8 Aware of this, Jesus said, “Oh you of little faith, why are you discussing among yourselves that you have no bread? 9 Do you not see or remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets of left over bread you gathered? 10 Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many baskets you gathered? 11 How is it that you don’t see I’m not talking about bread? Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” 12 Then they understood he wasn’t warning them about the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees. (Who “bound heavy rules upon others” while “robbing widows of their houses”!)

     (In the Order Believed Written)

                  ~ Romans 14:8-23 ~

(Vs.7 “We don’t live only unto ourselves nor die unto ourselves.”) 8 - For while we live, we live unto the Lord, and when we die, we die unto the Lord. So then, whether alive or dead, we are the Lord's! 9 After all, it’s for this reason Jesus died! And lived again. That he be Lord of both the living and of the dead. (Do you see any limitations on that? ..It’s like he “descended to the lowest part of earth” into the grave and into the deep sleep of death, but “not able to be held by it” - You see God our father and creator, source of Life, is not only life itself (“in the beginning God”) but he also “is PERFECT”. Now the option to stray had to be in Eden, in creation, or what? Total Ant Farm! Yes? But if you stray from God who iS life.. Can’t be good! And then you’re imperfect - the opposite of Life.  Double whammy. Triple. So there we all were, kidnapped by death! All headed there with no way out. But the Son, the “firstborn” and “only” straight out from God one, made entrance there. And he opened the door for the rest of us. “For as indeed in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive” - 1Cor.15:22. Jesus said he “will draw all” (Jn.12:32) and said - “All those in the tombs/graves will hear God’s voice and will come forth” (from the graves/tombs) “some into the resurrection/rising of life (into THE millennium). And some into the resurrection of judgment” (Jn.5:28-29) which elsewhere He calls agelasting correction [“kolasin aionion” oR “eonian correction” Mt.25:46, the completing of drawing all. So he is truly Lord of all the living and of all the dead”.)

10 So why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your sister? For we will all stand [parístēmi - from pará - close-beside and hístēmi - to stand — properly, stand close beside, i.e. ready to present, be presented] before the judgment seat of God, 11 for it is written, “As I live, says the LORD, every knee shall (happily) bend to me, and every tongue shall confess - ‘God!’” — Is.45:23. And it was an “oath” God spoke! (To his prophet, and thus to us.] 12 So then each will give an account [logos! - a word ..as embodying an idea, a statement, reasoning expressed in words, a speaking] about [peri] their self to God. (And maybe the best speaking will be no speaking at all..?)

13 Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of another. 14 I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that foods, drinks, days (sexual love in marriage) are not unclean, but are unclean for one who thinks it is. 15 And if your (weaker) brother or sister is grieved by what you eat, you are not walking in love. Don’t destroy the one for whom Christ died by what you eat! 16 Don’t (bring it up and) let what you regard as good be spoken of as evil (tripping yourself up). 17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat and drink but of righteousness! Of peace and joy in God’s Holy Spirit! 18 Whoever in this way serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by their fellows. 19 So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual building up and encouragement. 20 Don’t, for the sake of food (or days) destroy the work of God. It’s all clean (is okay) but it’s wrong to make another stumble by what we eat. 21 It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that causes your brother to stumble. (Don’t eat meat in their presence, nor make it an issue.) 22 The faith that you have about it, keep between yourself and God. Happy and blessed is the one who has no reason to pass judgment upon their self for what they approve. 23 But whoever has doubts is condemned if they eat, because the eating is not from faith. For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin - greek hamartia - (it) misses the mark.
