GospeL Verses ~ John 6:14-21

14 - When the people saw what he had done [he fed 5,000 from five loaves and two fish] they said, “This is indeed the Prophet! The one coming into the world.” 15 Seeing then that the the people were ready to take him by force and make him king, Jesus withdrew to the mountain alone. 16 And when evening came, his disciples went down to the sea, 17 and they got into a boat, and started across the sea to Capernaum. The sun had set and Jesus had not yet come to them. 18 Then as they were on the water, the sea became rough because a strong wind had come up. 19 When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea toward the boat! And they were sore afraid! 20 But he said to them, “It’s I! Don’t be afraid.” 21 Then they were glad to take him aboard, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.

                  ~ Romans 11:7-11 ~

7 - What then? Israel failed to obtain what it was seeking. The elect [eklogé - chosen out] (by a lucky shake of the heavenly dice?) obtained it. But the rest were hardened. 8 As it’s written, “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes unable to see and ears that cannot hear, right down to this very day.” (But! If creation/Eden had no option to stray, we’d be a forever mere ant farm. So GOD “has subjected all to disobedience” See how he engineered it so “all in heaven and earth” are travailing through this all important contrast, as it’s not so much a matter of what God created, but what he iS creating. And this life as we presently know it is the crucible and laver of purification/katharia and correction. The very straying is the cure!) 9 And David says, “Let their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution. (The human condition. Or that is, the present condition.) 10 

Darkened are the eyes of them, they cannot see, so the backs of all are bent.” 11 So I (Paul) ask, did they (we too) stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! (Of course not! ..And as with Israel, so with the world.) Rather, through their falling away [paraptóma - false step] salvation [sótéria - deliverance, salvation, rescue] has come to the nations, thus provoking Israel to jealousy/passion.
