GospeL Verses ~ Matthew 14:22-36

22 - Then he had the disciples get into the boat and go before him over to the other side, while he sent away the crowds. 23 And after he had sent them off, he went up on the mountain alone to pray. And when evening came, he was still there. 24 But the boat by this time was a long way off from shore, and was being beaten by the waves, for the wind was working against them. 25 Then in the fourth watch of the night he came out to them, walking upon the sea. (Walking upon and above the tempests of life.) 26 But when the disciples saw him they were terrified! And they cried out in fear, “It’s a ghost!” 27 But Jesus said, “Take heart! It is I. Don’t be afraid!” 28 And Peter answered, “Lord, if it’s you, tell me to come to you on the water.” 29 And Jesus said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water to Jesus. 30 But then he saw the wind, and he saw the thrashing waves, and he became afraid. And he began to sink, and cried out, “Lord! Save me!” 31 Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying, “Oh you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased to blow. 33 And those in the boat worshiped, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

34 When they reached shore, it was at Gennesaret. 35 And when the people of that place recognized him, they sent around to all the region and brought to him all who were sick 36 and asked of him that if they might only touch the fringe of his garment they would be healed. And as many as touched, were made well.

From New Testament Letters

     (In the Order Believed Written)

                  ~ Romans 11:12-24  ~

12 - Now if Israel’s misstep means riches for the world, if their failure means riches for the nations, how much more will their full inclusion mean!? (Mt.23:39) 13 I am speaking to you Gentiles because I am an apostle to the nations/Gentiles. And I am shining a light on my own ministry 14 in order that somehow I may make my kinsmen jealous, and so save some of them. 15 But if their rejection means for the world - reconciliation, what will their acceptance bring? But life from the dead! [Mt.23:39 - “You won’t see me again until you, Jerusalem, say ‘blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD’”. Life from the dead of course is resurrection.] 16 If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump. (Of the nation, and also of humanity as the ever widening pool ripple. “Jesus the firstfruits” 1Cor.15:23.) And if the root of the tree is holy/sacred, so are the branches. 17 And if some of the branches were broken off, and you - a wild olive shoot - were grafted in among the others, and now you share in the nourishment from the root of the olive tree. 18 So why be arrogant toward the natural branches?! For it is not you who supports the root. But the root supports you. 19 You might say, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in!” 20 That’s true. But they were broken off (dry, withered branches pruned, but would fall off after a while anyway) because of their (own) unbelief, but you are there through faith. Don’t be puffed up, rather fear, 21 for if God didn’t spare the natural branches, how will he spare you? (If you become dry and withered?) 22 Note then - the kindness and the (unavoidable, cause and effect) severity of God. Severity toward those who have fallen (fall off). But kindness (nurturing/fertilizing) to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off. (Separated from God’s Spirit/Presence with us. And what kind of fruitful tree is allowed to just grow wild, hampered and hindered by a bunch of dead branches hanging off it?) 23 And even they, if they don’t continue in their unbelief (during this life as we presently know it drama) will be grafted in (even now) for God has the power to graft them in again. 24 If you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be easily grafted back into their own olive tree.
