GospeL Verses ~ Matthew 12:1-13

1 - At that time Jesus walked through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry, and they began to pluck and eat the heads of grain. 2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said, “Look! Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath!” 3 But he said to them, “Haven’t you read what David did when he was hungry? And those who were with him? 4 How he went into the house of God and ate the bread of the Presence, which isn’t lawful for him or those with him to eat, but is only for the priests? 5 Or have you read in the Law how on the Sabbath the priests of the temple work in the temple on the Sabbath and are guiltless? 6 I say to you, something greater than the temple is here. 7 And if you had known what this scripture means, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice,’ you would not condemn the guiltless. 8 The Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath.”

     9 Then he walked on and entered the synagogue. 10 A man was there with a withered hand, and they asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”—They asked this so they might accuse him. 11 He said, “Which one of you who has a lamb, if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, won’t take and lift it out? 12 And of how much more value is a man than a lamb! So truly, it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.” 13 Then he said to the man with the withered hand, “Stretch out your hand.” And the man stretched it out, and it was restored, whole and healthy like the other.

11 - If the Spirit of he who raised Jesus from the dead dwells within you, he will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit/Presence whhich dwells in you. 12 So then, brothers and sisters, we are in debt, not to carnal matters, to live according to the lower selfish nature. 13 For if you live according to carnality you are upon the way of death, but if by the Spirit you put to death the carnal (me first) nature, you will live. 14 For all who are led by the Spirit/Presence of God are sons and daughters of God.  (Who “is Love, 1Jn.4:8.) 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage to fall back into fear and foreboding, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons and daughters, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit in us bears witness with our spirit - that we are children of God.
