Luke 12:22-40
22 Then he said to his disciples, βSo then, donβt be anxious about your life, what you will eat and what you will wear. 23 Life is more than food and clothing. 24 Consider the ravens. They donβt plant or harvest, or store food in barns. But your heavenly father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than the birds. 25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? 26 So if you cannot do such a small thing, why do you worry about the rest? 27 Consider the lilies, how they grow. They donβt labor nor spin. But I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these. 28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire (bonfire, not into an eternal βhellβ) how much more will he clothe youβoh ye of such little faith! 29 Donβt be concerned about what you will eat or drink, nor have an anxious mind. 30 For the nations/the world runs after all such things, and your Father knows what you need. 31 But seek first the kingdom of God, and all these other things will be added to you as well. 32 So donβt be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.β [Traditionally, especially from the version by King James, is translated βitβs his good pleasure to give you the kingdomβ but a more interlinear word for word is βfear not little flock, for the Father delights to give you the kingdomβ.] (Wants to give to us, the Kingdom, for it to endure? βThe kingdom is within youβ. It has to be βwithinβ all. But of course itβs not onLy within. Itβs not βall about moiβ. And βthe lion will eat straw like the ox, the bear will graze with the cowβ Isaiah 11:7.)
33 βSell what you have and give to the poor! Make for yourselves money bags that donβt grow old, and treasure in the heavens that doesnβt fade away, and where no thief approaches nor moth destroys. 34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 35 Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning, 36 as though you were waiting for your master of the household returning from the (betrothal?/pre?) wedding feast. Then you will be ready to open the door and let him in the moment he arrives and knocks.β [From a commentary - βThe marriage consisted of two ceremonies that were marked by celebrations at two separate times, with an interval between. First came the betrothal and later, the wedding. At the betrothal the woman was legally married, although she still remained in her fatherβs house. At the wedding, the betrothed woman, accompanied by a colorful procession, was brought from her fatherβs house and into the house of her groom, and the legal tie with him was consummated. The bridegroom would come for the bride. (With her bridesmaids who had kept their lamps lit in readiness, with enough oil) and usually in the middle of the night (with the groomsmen who had been keeping ready and watching). And he arrived with a shout and the sound of a shofar.] 37 βHappy are those servants whose master finds them awake and ready when he returns! I tell you, he will take off his coat, have them sit down, and will wait on them. 38 Even if he comes in the second or third watch of the night and finds them alert, those servants will be blessed. 39 You would surely not let a thief break into your home, if you knew when the thief was coming. 40 So always be ready! You don't know when the Son of Man will come.β [Whether he comes for the wedding, or at oneβs end of this life, we donβt know when.]

From New Testament Letters
(In Order Written)
~ 1 Thessalonians 1:1-7 ~
1 - This letter is from Paul, Silas, and Timothy. We are writing to the church in Thessalonica, to all you who belong to God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. May God give you grace and peace. 2 We always thank God for you and continually mention you in our prayers. 3 As we pray to our God and Father about you, we think of how you put your faith into practice, how your love made you work so hard, and how your hope [elpis - hope, expectation, anticipation] in our Lord Jesus Christ is firm, 4 knowing, brothers and sisters, loved by God, your election. (Elsewhere says elected/chosen by lot? Which Iβve always assumed means by a lucky shake of the heavenly dice.π€·πΌββοΈ Iβm convinced thatβs the way it is.. whether we conclude this life as wheat or as still a wild weed.. All Godβs choice. We CHRISTIAN Universalists know that. Next leap from there? The βbeing drawn by Jesusβ - Jn.12:32, being the same process for all, albeit certain despots, serial killers, child sex traffickers surely(?) will experience INITIAL conditions as portrayed in the rich man and Lazarus parable. Not any sort of easy salvation. But inner fiery torment.. eventually leading to gut wrenching remorse. (Surely? Isnβt that how it should be? If youβre going to let things run their course, rather than create an ant farm, surely even some of the worst is bound to happen. As soon as imperfection/straying entered the scene, God prophesied to Eve the stronger would come to rule over the not as strong.)
5 For when we brought you the Good News, it was not only with words but also with power, for the Holy Spirit gave you full assurance that what we said was true. In the same way you know what kind of people we were while we were with you and the good things we did. 6 So, when you accepted the message, you followed our example and the example of the Lord, even in spite of the suffering [thlipsis - tribulation] it brought to you. 7 As a result, you have become an example to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia.
