         Mark 10:10-16

10 - Later, when he was alone with his disciples in the house, they asked him again about this matter. [Some Pharisees had asked him, as a trick question, about what Moses had written about allowing divorce. Because of their hard hearts, Jesus said.] 11 But he said to them, ‘Whoever shall put away [apoluó - set free, release, send away] his wife, and marry another, commits adultery against her. 12 And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she commits adultery.’ (If Jesus doesn’t offer an opinion until asked, why should I?)

13 People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands upon (bless) them, but the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. 14 When Jesus saw this, he was offended and said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them. The Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. 15 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will not enter it.” [Translators prefer ‘never’ in this verse, but the word is from two words meaning no and not. ] (I think “surely not” or “cannot” enter the kingdom ..until they can receive it as a child, in faith and  trust. Surely that is true and is logical (root word logos).

From New Testament Letters

         ~ James 1:9-15 ~

9 Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. [Another version - Any of God's people who are poor should be glad he thinks so highly of them.]  10 And the one who is rich, in their humiliation, because they will pass away like a flower of grass. (All will take pride in the role they play in this all important contrast, this letting things run their course. Other option was? A total ant farm?) 11 For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away with all of their achievements. 12 Happy are those who remain faithful under trials, because when they succeed in passing the test, they will receive as their reward the crown [stephanos - that which surrounds, crown, garland, honor] of life which God has promised to those who love him. (A spiritual crown. 😇 not 👑.) 13 Don't blame God when you are tempted! God cannot be tempted by evil, and he doesn't use evil to tempt others. (What HE did, is he gave thinking and reasoning ability, which includes power of choice.) 14 Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. 15 And when sin is finished with us, it leaves us dead. [And so we have to be rescued from death and its cause, hamartia - missing the mark, translated ‘sin’, wrongdoing, trespass.. but the issue is actually bigger than that. And we have to be reunited to - in union with - God who iS life, and “is perfect”. Creation’s two options? — total ant farm versus total herd immunity?]
