Luke 11:1-13
1 - Once Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples." 2 So Jesus said, “This is how you should pray, “Father, hallowed be your name. May your Kingdom come soon. 3 Give us each day our daily bread. (And our spiritual bread?) 4 And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation.” 5 Then, teaching them more about prayer, he used this story: “Suppose you went to a friend’s house at midnight, wanting to borrow three loaves of bread. And you say to him, 6 ‘A friend of mine has arrived on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him!’7 And suppose your friend answers, ‘Don't bother me! The door is bolted, and my children and I are in bed. I cannot get up to give you anything.’ 8 But I tell you this—though he won’t do it for friendship’s sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless persistence. 9 So I say to you, ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 11 Which of you fathers, if your child asks for a fish, will give them a snake? 12 Or if they ask for an egg, will give them a scorpion? 13 As imperfect as you are, you know how to give good things to your children. How much more, then, will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"

~ James 3:13-18 ~
13 If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom. 14 But if your heart is full of bitter jealousy and selfishness, don't brag or lie to cover up the truth. 15 This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind. 17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of kind deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. 18 And goodness is harvested from the seeds that peacemakers plant in peace. [Matthew 5:9 - “Happy are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”]
