(Disciple John’s account.) 19 - On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the disciples were together, and they had the doors locked for fear of the leaders, when Jesus came and stood among them, and he said, “Peace be with you.”
20 He showed them the wounds on his hands and his side. And the disciples were glad when they saw him. 21 And again he said, “Peace be with you.” And then he told them, “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” 22 And when he had said this, he blew his breath upon them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit”. 24 Now the disciple Thomas, called the Twin, wasn’t with them at the time. 25 So the other disciples told him, “We’ve seen the Lord!” But Thomas said, “Unless I see the marks in his hands, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and touch the wound in his side, I will not believe!”
26 Eight days later, his disciples were there again, but this time Thomas was with them. The doors again were locked, and Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands, and touch my side. Don’t disbelieve. Believe.” 28 Thomas exclaimed, “Oh my Lord! Oh my God!” {He really rose out from death!} 29 Jesus said, “Have you believed because you’ve seen me? {Touched me, saw me eat.} Blessed are those who believe, and have not seen.” (Not yet outwardly and face to face.)
