39 - And having performed everything according to the Law of the LORD, they returned into Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth. 40 And the child grew, being strong and filled with wisdom. And the favor of God was upon him.
41 Every year for the Feast of Passover (week) Joseph and Mary went up to Jerusalem. 42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up according to the custom. 43 And when the feast was over, they were on their way back home, but Jesus had stayed behind in Jerusalem without Mary and Joseph realizing. 44 And supposing him to be in the group they went about a day's journey, before they began to search for him among their relatives and acquaintances. 45 When they didn’t find him, they went back to Jerusalem, to search for him. 46 And after three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47 And everyone who heard him were amazed at his understanding, and at his answers.
48 When his parents saw him, they were astonished. And his mother said, “Son, why have you treated us so? Behold, your father and I have been searching for you in great distress!” 49 And he said, “Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know I would be in my Father's house?” 50 And they didn’t understand what he was saying. 51 And he went home with them, to Nazareth and was always obedient to them. But his mother pondered all these things in her heart. 52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and also in favor with God and man.
