04/22 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

     Paul’s 1st Letter To Timothy

16 - But I (Paul) received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the worst, Jesus displays his perfect patience. This is an example to all who are looking to him for eternal life. 17 To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever! Amen.

18 This charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you! That by them you may wage the good fight. 19 Holding faith and a good conscience, for by rejecting this, some have made a shipwreck of their faith! 20 Among whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I’ve handed over to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme. (Commentaries suggest this is a quiet excommunication/expulsion usually for a time.)

2:1 - First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be made for all, 2 and for kings and all who are in high positions (anti-division) that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires [theló - wills, wishes, desires, intends] all to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.

My own studies. Been neglecting Psalms (jan 1-20, feb-20’s, mar-30’s, apr-40’s, etc. dec-120-150) and the Prophets.
