04/28 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

     Paul’s 1st Letter To Timothy

16 -  If a believing woman has relatives who are widows, she should care for them, so the church needn’t be burdened, so it can care for those who are truly widows needing our help.

17 Let elders who serve well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching. 18 For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer deserves his wages.”19 Don’t accept a charge against an elder except on the evidence of two or more witnesses. 20 As for those who persist in sinning, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that all may learn caution. 21 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus and of the elect angels I charge you to keep these rules without prejudice, doing nothing from partiality.

22 Don’t be in a hurry about appointing leaders. Don’t share in the sins of others. Keep yourself unpolluted. 23 Don’t drink only water, but use a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent ailments. 24 The sins of some people are obvious, going before them to judgment, but the sins of others show up later. 25 So also good works are clearly seen, and even those that aren’t, cannot remain hidden forever.
