04/21 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

      Paul’s 1st Letter To Timothy

(Verse 8, Paul against other doctrine — We know the law is good, if one uses it lawfully) 9 understanding this, that the law isn’t scribed/written for the just but for the lawless and disobedient. For the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike fathers and mothers, for murderers,10 for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for enslavers, and liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching. 11 This is in accordance with the gospel/message/good news, of the {radiant, undeniable}GL0RY of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted.

12 I thank he who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, and appointed me to his service. 13 Though formerly I was a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent opponent! But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly and in unbelief. 14 And the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that is found in Christ Jesus. 15 And this saying is true and trustworthy, and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners [hamartólos - from hamartanō - to miss the mark] {to save hamartians, the imperfect, all of us}. And I (Paul) am the worst of them all.
