Luke 22:24-38
24 Now there rose up among them (the disciples) as to which of them was the greatest. 25 And Jesus said, “The kings of the nations rule over the people. 26 You however, shouldn’t think like that. Instead the ‘greater’ should be as ‘lesser’. [Neos - young, new, fresh] (a newbie!) And the one leading, as though they serve. 27 For who is greater? The one sitting at table, or the one serving? Is it not the one at table? But I have been among you as one who serves. 28 You are the ones who remained with me during my troubles [peirasmos - an experiment, a trial, temptation, affliction, from peirazΓ³ - try, make proof of]. 29 As the Father has appointed me to reign, so I appoint you to reign” [diatΓthemai - from diΓ‘ - through, thoroughly, which intensifies tΓthΔmi - to place, arrange — thoroughly (carefully) arrange which effectively accomplishes the objective at hand]. (Ultimately, all shall “be like Jesus” 1Jn.3:2.) 30 You will eat and drink with me in my kingdom. And each one of you will sit on a throne to judge concerning the twelve tribes of Israel. 31 Simon, Simon, the adversary has demanded to have all of you to sift like wheat. (The chaff from the kernal.) 32 I have earnestly prayed for you, that your faith doesn’t fail. And when you have turned back [epi-strephΓ³ - to turn, to return, come to your senses] strengthen your brothers. 33 And Peter (Simon Peter) replied, “Lord, I am ready to follow you to prison or to death”! 34 But Jesus said, “I tell you Peter, the rooster won’t crow this day before you deny knowing me three times.”
35 “When I sent you out without bag and purse, or sandals, did you lack anything?” “No nothing” they said. 36 “But now” Jesus said, “if you have a bag or purse take it, and if not, sell your cloak, and buy a sword. 37 I say [lego] to you, that which has been written, must occur. And it will be accomplished in me - as it’s written ‘he was numbered with the lawless, reckoned to be a criminal’. But the things concerning me have an intended end” [telos - “end-aim”]. 38 And they said, “Lord, here are two swords”. “It is enough” he said. (Spoiler alert: later Peter cuts off someone’s ear, and Jesus heals it. About the swords, and maybe another thing he said, makes me think he (naturally, and of course) was upset.. knowing he was imminently in for a very rough time of it.)

~ 1 Corinthians 10:14-24 ~
14 Therefor beloved ones, flee from idolatry. 15 You are sensible people. Judge for yourselves if what I am saying is true. 16 When we bless the cup of thanksgiving, are we not sharing the life blood of Jesus? And when we break bread in his name, are we not sharing in his body/sacrifice? 17 We are like one loaf of bread, though many, we are one, and we all partake of that same bread. [Jn.6:35 - And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me will not hunger..”] 18 Consider the people of Israel. Do not those who eat the sacrifices share in what is offered on the altar? 19 What do I mean then? That food offered to idols is anything, or that an idol is actually anything? 20 No, not at all. I am saying that these sacrifices are offered to demons, not to God. And I don’t want you to participate in that. 21 You simply cannot drink from the cup of the Lord and also from the cup of demons. You can’t eat at the Lord’s table and at the table of demons as well. 22 Shall we arouse the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he? 23 Something may be lawful but is it beneficial? 24 Let us not seek our own good, but the good of others. (For example, if we believe it is permissible to drink wine, but we are with our brother or sister who doesn’t believe so, we should consider them in the matter, and not our self.)
