           John 14:1-11

1 - “Don’t be troubled” (Jesus told his disciples) “trust God, and trust me also. 2 In my father’s house are many abiding places, if it were not so, would I tell you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I am going and preparing a place for you, I am coming again and will receive you to myself, so that where I am, you will be with me.” (Also.. I go to be crucified so that where I am, you will be also.) 4 And you know the way! 5 But Thomas said, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going! So how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father but through me. 7 If you knew me, you would know my father also. From now on you do know him, and you have seen him.” [HoraΓ³ - to see, perceive, attend to.] 8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.” 9 Jesus answered, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. So why ask me to show him to you? 10 Don’t you know - that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I say, are not my words, but it is he in me that is doing his works. 11 Believe me. Or believe, because of all the things (works) you have seen me do.

           ~ 1 Corinthians 8:9-13

9 But be careful, that your liberty to eat certain foods, doesn’t cause a brother or sister to stumble. 10 For if someone with a weak conscience sees you eating in an idol’s temple, won’t they be encouraged to violate their conscience by eating food that has been offered to an idol? 11 So this weaker one, for whom Christ died, is destroyed by your liberty. 12 And if you wound their conscience when it is weak in the matter, you sin against Christ. 13 So if what I eat causes another to stumble, I’ll not eat meat again as long as I live! In case I cause a brother or sister to stumble.
