05/31 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

22 - So flee youthful passions. Pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a genuine and pure heart. 23 Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies. You know that they breed quarrels. 24 And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach patiently, 25 correcting opponents with gentleness. That God may grant them repentance leading to knowing the truth, 26 and they come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.

     3 But understand this, in the last days there will be times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, full of conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness (!? ..puts on sheep’s clothing? talks a good talk?) but denying its power. {God.} Avoid such. 6 For among them are those who creep into households and capture the weak, burdened with sins [hamartia - (of) missing the mark, with flaws, weaknesses] and led astray by various passions, 7 always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. {The “world” is - so to speak - a powerful delusion.}

23 - When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his garments and divided them into four parts, one part for each soldier. But the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom, 24 so they said to each other, “Let’s not tear it, but we’ll cast lots to see whose it will be.” This fulfilled the Scripture which says, “They divided my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots.”

     And so the soldiers did these things, 25 but standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and her sister, and Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved (John referred to himself this way) standing nearby, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.” 27 Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his household.

16 - But avoid worldly [bebélos - of babylon, babble, vain, trodden] empty babbling, for it only leads into more and more ungodliness. 17 And their words will spread like gangrene. Among such are Hymenaeus and Philetus, 18 who have veered away from the truth, speaking {and teaching} that the resurrection has already occurred. They are upsetting the faith of some. 19 Yet God's firm foundation stands, bearing this seal, “The Lord knows those who are his” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the LORD depart from iniquity.”

     20 Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for honorable use, some for dishonorable. {“All the world is a stage” ..Shakespeare.] 21 Therefore, if anyone cleanses theirself from what is dishonorable, they will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, and ready for every good work.

     05/30 - GospeL Verses

39 - And those who passed by threw up insults to him, wagging their heads, 40 and saying, “You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days? Save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from there!” 41 So also the chief priests, with the scribes and elders, mocked him, saying, 42 “He saved others. But he can’t save himself. He’s the King of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we’ll believe in him. 43 He trusts in God, let God deliver him, if he wants to.. For he said, ‘I’m the Son of God.’”

     44 The robbers who were crucified with him also insulted him in the same way.

     45 Then, from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour. [Not an eclipse as Passover is at the full moon of the first month.] 46 And at about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

     47 And some of the bystanders, hearing it, said, “This man is calling for Elijah.” 48 And one of them at once ran and taking a sponge, soaked it with sour wine, and put it on a reed and gave it to him to drink. 49 But the others said, “Wait, let’s see if Elijah will come and save him.”

05/29 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

7 - Think over what I (Paul) am saying, for the Lord will give you understanding in all things. 8 Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead! The offspring of David, as told in the gospel I proclaim, 9 and for which I am suffering, bound with chains as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound! 10 Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect {to keep the message alive and intact} that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with enduring glory. 11 The saying is trustworthy. For if we have died with him {the imperfect human nature.. the flaws .. an exchange(!} we will also live with him {in his sort of being and life. As it says, “we shall be like him”.} 12 if we endure {this wicked, pushy, bullying world and any impediment} then we will also reign with him {during long second advent, a full scope version of his so brief first one? Helping, called reigning..} But should we deny him, he also will deny us, 13 {but!} if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself. {He “is Love” and “is perfect” so imperfect is this slow gehenna crucible, entropy and life as we presently know it, an unavoidable yet all important contrast.} 14 Remind them (Timothy/all) of these things, and charge them before God not to quarrel about words, which does no good, but only ruins the hearers. {Ruins what the hearers hear.} 15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to shrink back, rightly handling the word of truth.

     05/29 - GospeL Verses

14 - Now it was the day of Preparation of the Passover {meal. Which, strangely enough is not on Passover, the days begin at sunset rather than midnight. The Passover meal is eaten after dark - like the day it commemorates - on First Day of Unleavened Bread, a ‘Sabbath’. Jesus dies on Passover - which is a “preparation day”. There being three of them during Spring Holy Week - which WeeK was fulfilled PERFECTLY by the Lord’s first (so brief) advent. ..And - Jesus is put into the grave as 1st Unleavened Bread day is beginning.. And rises exactly three days later as the regular weekly Sabbath is ending or has just ended, and Firstfruits, a ‘Sabbath’ and third holy day of the week, is beginning. ..Then seven weeks later, on Pentecost, which also always fell on a Sunday - now Sonday - God’s Holy Spirit/Presence was poured out upon believers/followers. Father and Son-the onLy straight out from God one, being so united both administer God’s Spirit/Presence. Same as will saturate and “seal” all of creation (greek kosmos) and humanity. “The lion will eat straw like the ox and the bear will graze with the cow” Isaiah 11:7.}

     It was about the sixth hour. Pilate said to the Hebrews/Jews, “Behold your King!” 15 They cried out, “Away with him! Crucify him! Crucify him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The leaders, the chief priests, answered “We have no king but Caesar!” 16 So he delivered him over to them to be crucified.

     And so they took him, 17 and he went out carrying his cross, to the place called The Place of a Skull, which in Aramaic is Golgotha. (Hebrew being a dialect of Aramaic.) 18 There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, with Jesus between them. 19 Pilate also wrote an inscription reading, “Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews” and he had it put on the cross. 20 Many read the inscription, for it was near the city, and it was written in Aramaic, in Latin, and in Greek. 21 So the chief priests (leaders) said to Pilate, “Don’t write ‘The King of the Jews,’ but write, ‘This man said, I am King of the Jews.’” 22 Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”

1 - Therefor my son, be always strengthened by the grace that is ours in Christ Jesus. 2 And what you’ve heard from me - and in the presence of many witnesses - entrust to faithful others, and they will be able to teach more persons as well. 3 Share in the suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

ACTS 2 1-21

 Universalism in the New Testament

       BooK of Acts of the First Believers

                          (Paraphrased)

Brief review/background from chapter one - In the first book (the gospel bearing Luke’s name) ..I (Luke) have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and to teach 2 until the day he was taken up, having given instructions through the Holy Spirit(/Presence of God) to the apostles whom he had chosen. 3 Jesus, by many proofs, presented himself alive after his suffering, having appeared to them for forty days after it (his death) and speaking about the kingdom of God to them. 4 And while he was still there, he told them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father. “The promise you heard from me” he said, 5 “for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit (with God’s veRy Presence!) a few days from now.”

     2:1 And so later, when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly! A sound like a mighty rushing wind from above! And it filled the entire house where they were. 3 Flames of fire like tongues appeared and above each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit(/Presence of God) and began to speak in other languages as the Spirit gave them utterance.

     5 Now there were in Jerusalem Hebrews/Jews, devout men from many nations. 6 And at the sound of the mighty wind, a crowd came together, and they were bewildered, because everyone was hearing them speak in their own language. 7 They were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? 8 And how is it that we hear them, each in our own language? 9 Parthians and Medes, Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, from  Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome! 11 Jews and proselytes both, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongue the mighty works of God!” 12 And they were amazed and puzzled, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” 13 But others mocking said, “They’re filled with wine!” 14 But Peter, standing with the eleven, spoke loudly and said to them, “Men of Judea, and all who are here in Jerusalem, understand this, and listen to what I say. 15 These are not drunk. It’s only the third hour of the day! 16 But this is what was prophesied by the prophet Joel when he said, ‘In the last days - God says - I will pour out my Spirit upon all the living. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. 18 On my male servants and on my female servants, in those days, I will pour out my Spirit, and they will prophesy. 19 I’ll show signs in the heavens above, and signs upon the earth below. And there will be fire, and blood, and vapor of smoke 20 the sun will turn to darkness (from the smoke?) and the moon to blood (reflecting red of fires?) before it is the day of the Lord - the great and magnificent ‘day’! 21 And all who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved [sozo - saved, healed, preserved, rescued].’”

     {Saved from what? From the dangers at hand? And ultimately from death (& its cause).. “the wage/result of sin - greek hamartia - missing the mark - is death” (beginning with entropy “which does not quit”) Romans 6:23. Unavoidably because God iS life and “is perfect” Mt.5:48, Jn.12:32. So the remedy was built in from the beginning/foundation, Rev.13:8.} {And part of the “good news of the kingdom” is, life, creation, has to be perfect. And God has each person’s highest blueprint.. “beneath us are the everlasting arms” Deuteronomy 33:27, a word to every human being there is and ever has been and will be. Like footprints in the sand.. And sand through the hourglass..}

     05/28 - GospeL Verses

27 - Then the soldiers of the governor (Pilate) took Jesus into the praetorium (the governor's headquarters) and gathered all the Roman cohort quartered there. 28 And they stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him. 29 And twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on his head, and they put a reed in his right hand. Then kneeling before him, they mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” 30 And they spit on him and took the reed and struck him on the head with it. 31 And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the robe and put his own clothes back on him and led him away to be crucified.

     32 As they were going, they found a man of Cyrene (coming into town) Simon by name, whom they compelled to carry his cross. (Jesus having been flogged, which is no light thing to say the least, and beaten.) 33 And when they came to a place called Golgotha, which means Place of a Skull, 34 they offered him wine to drink, mixed with bitter gall (an herb) but when he tasted it, he wouldn’t drink it. 35 And when they had crucified him {“lifted him up from the earth” Jn.12:32} they divided his garments among them by casting lots. 36 Then they sat down and kept a guard over him. 37 And over his head they put the charge against him, which read, “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.” 38 Then two robbers were crucified with him, one on the right and one on the left.

05/27 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

(Paul writing a second letter to Timothy, Verse 9 “..who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of who we are or what we do, but because of hiS own purpose, and grace, which he gave us, in Christ Jesus, before the ages even began”  1O - and which now has been seen {and witnessed) through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death (!) and brought life and immortality to light! Through the good news that is proclaimed, 11 for which I was appointed a preacher, apostle and teacher, 12 which is why I suffer as I do. But I’m not ashamed, for I know who it is I have believed, and I’m convinced he is able to guard until that day, what has been entrusted to me. {The Lord’s ‘day’ or expecting the ‘last day’ when the still tares gather to armageddon? (Siren call division?) Same day Jesus “returns” and begins his long second advent, called gathering the wheat into the barn. Please consider, when you find time, 1Cor.15:22-24,28 wiTh Mt.13:33, key word 3! Three harvests, barley, wheat.. and grape.}

     13 Follow the pattern and sound teaching you have heard from me. Continue in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 14 And by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you. {Deposit - down payment? Though “deposit” is sort of inserted.. perhaps implied?}.

     15 You’re aware all who are in Asia went away and left me on my own, among whom are Phygelus and Hermogenes. [..It’s interesting that Jesus dictated (to John) seven letters to seven churches of Asia, which begin the Book of Revelation.]

     16 But may the Lord grant special mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains (house arrest in Rome). 17 Instead when he arrived in Rome he searched earnestly for me, and found me. 18 May the Lord grant him to find special kindness from the Lord on that day! And you well know all the service he rendered at Ephesus.

MATTHEW 27 11-26 or JOHN 19 1-13

 a paraphrased ‘enter the story’

 🍃🕊️reading & study 🕊️🍃

     05/27 - GospeL Verses

11 - Jesus stood before the Roman governor, Pilate. And Pilate asked him, “Are you the King of the Jews?” Jesus said, “You have said so.” {Not me.} 12 But as he was being accused by the chief priests and elders, Jesus gave no answer. 13 Then Pilate said to him, “Do you hear how many things they accuse you of?” 14 But he gave no answer to any charge, and the governor was greatly amazed.

     15 Now at the Passover feast he was accustomed to release to the people one prisoner whomever they might want. 16 And they had then a notorious prisoner called Barabbas. 17 So when they had gathered, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release for you? Barabbas? Or this Jesus who is called Christ?” 18 For he knew it was out of envy the leaders had brought him to him.

     While he was sitting at the judgment seat, his wife sent word to him, “Have nothing to do with that righteous man, because I have suffered much over him today in a dream.” 20 Meanwhile the leaders, the chief priests and elders, had persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas, and have Jesus executed.

     21 The governor again said to them, “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” And they said, “Barabbas!” 22 Pilate said, “Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” They called out, “Let him be crucified!” 23 And he said, “Why? What evil has he done?” But they shouted all the more, “Crucify him!”

     24 When Pilate saw his words were going nowhere, and that a mob was forming {mob mentality, instigated and maneuvered} and a riot was beginning, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd, and said, “I am innocent of this man's blood! See to it yourselves.” 25 And all the people answered, “His blood be on us and on our children!” {Elsewhere it says judgment comes but no one is to try to aid it! But it’s a positive bet the spiritual adversary - seditious “angelos” will, also (apparently) having the ability to think and reason thus having some power of choice - of which “free will” is an exagerration of, including concerning anyone’s time of coming to the Truth. I.e, both angelkind and mankind have at least some power of choice, it being an offshoot of being able to think and reason. God’s ‘wrath’ is cause and effect, for all - as in “his blood be upon us”. Greek orge/passion/‘wrath’. God’s passion is Truth! Cause and effect, as opposed to creation being some sort of ant farm.. Surely(?) before doing any act of creation, he could see all possibilities and potentials.. And has done and does all as he has, and does, in order to bring about the best possible final outcome and CREATION. He “is Perfect” (and is Life. Surely? And no option to stray in Eden, would be that ant farm. So this contrast, this slow gehenna fade we call entropy, a crucible and a process that “does not quit”. So “God is savior of all” (1Tim.4:10) and the remedy, strong enough to appease eveRy conscience - for imperfection is an abyss of potential - was “built in from the foundation/beginning” and the Son so close to the Father, both administer God’s Spirit/Presence (same as will “seal” and saturate all mankind, angelkind and creation) the Son is the one main building bLock.} 26 Then Pilate released to them Barabbas, and having Jesus flogged, he then delivered him to be crucified.

     And John’s account, Jn.19:1 - Then Pilate took Jesus and had him scourged. 2 And the soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head. And they put a purple robe on him, 3 and were saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” and slapped and struck him. 4 Pilate went out again and said to the crowd, “See, I am bringing him out to you that you may know that I find no guilt in him.” 5 So Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, having been flogged and beaten. And Pilate said to them, “Behold the man!” 6 When the leaders, the chief priests and the officers saw him, they cried out, “Crucify him! Crucify him!” Pilate said, “Take him yourselves! And crucify him! For I find no guilt in him.”

     7 They answered him, “We have a law, and according to it he ought to die because he has made himself the Son of God.” 8 Now when Pilate heard this, he was even more afraid. {For the Roman emperor was to be thought of as ‘god’ and no other humans. {All nations had faint ancient memory of a promise of “a Son” (so part divine, and part human) as deliverer and savior - the promise given in Eden. Also memories of Eve “mother of all” and of the flood. Pre-flood having been a time of hands off.. I think even cannibaalism was rampant, now they await resurrection into GWT judgment ‘day’ (of kolasis/korrection, all range of, but inner). To claim godhood in the Roman empire was punishable by death and execution.}

     9 Pilate entered his headquarters again and said to Jesus, “Where are you from?” But Jesus gave him no answer. 10 So Pilate said to him, “Will you not speak? Do you not know that I have authority to release you, and authority to crucify you?”11 Jesus said, “You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given to you from above. Therefore he who delivered me over to you has the greater sin.”

     12 From then on Pilate sought to release him, but they cried out all the more, “If you release this man, you are not Caesar's friend! Everyone who makes himself a king opposes Caesar!” 13 So when Pilate heard these words, he brought Jesus out and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called the Stone Pavement, and in Aramaic called Gabbatha..

05/26 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

1 - From Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, according to the promise of the life that is in Christ Jesus, 2 to Timothy, my beloved child in the Lord: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

     3 I thank God whom I serve, as did my ancestors, with a clear conscience, as I remember you in my prayers every day. 4 As I remember the tears we felt, I long to see you, that I may be filled with joy. 5 I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and now, I know dwells in you. 6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, 7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and a sound mind.

     8 Therefore don’t be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord! Nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel if need be, by the power of God, 9 who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of who we are or what we do, but because of hiS own purpose, and grace, which he gave us, in Christ Jesus, before the ages even began,

     05/26 - GospeL Verses

28 - Then, when it was early morning, they led Jesus from the house of Caiaphas to the governor's palace and praetorian (court and guard quarters). They themselves didn’t enter, so they wouldn’t be considered contaminated, and could eat the Passover meal. {Which had noT yet occurred.} 29 So Pilate went outside to them, and he said, “What accusation do you bring against this man?” 30 They answered, “If this man were not doing evil, we wouldn’t have brought him to you!” 31 Pilate said, “Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law.” The Hebrew leaders said, “It’s not lawful for us to put anyone to death.” 32 This was to fulfill the word that Jesus had spoken to show by what kind of death he was going to die. [Jesus had said, “If I’m lifted up from the earth - signifying what his death would be” (the Romans crucified by lifting up on a pole or pole and beam, if so) “I will draw all to me” Jn.12:32.]

     33 So Pilate went back inside and called Jesus to him, and said, “Are you the King of the Jews? 34 Jesus answered, “Do you say this of your own accord, or did you hear it from others?” 35 Pilate answered, “Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered you over to me. What have you done?” 36 Jesus answered, “My kingdom isn’t of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my followers would have been fighting, so I wouldn’t be delivered over to them. But my kingdom isn’t of the world.” (So why is there division among believers due to politics of “the world”- sadly some deep division and dislike on the part of some.) 37 Then Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say, I’m a king. For this purpose I was born. And for this purpose I’ve come into the world - to testify of the truth. Everyone who’s of the truth listens to what I say.” 38 Pilate said to him, “What is truth?”

     After this, he went back outside, “I find no guilt in the man,” he said, 39 “but you have a custom that I should release one man for you at Passover. Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?” 40 They cried out, “Not this man! But, Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber. [And had committed murder in a sedition, Lk.23:19.]

05/25 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

8 - But don’t overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. {This logically doesn’t mean every day is code for a millennium.. BUT! I do think our heavenly Father/Creator has fixed 6 millennia for things to run course. No option to stray in Eden and we’d be an ant farm? After this unavoidable (entropic) contrast has run its course, then a Sabbath millennium as a rest from evil and enmity, followed by “the last great day” an “8th day” Rev.20, but which is described like the crests of waves and not much of the in between. So an outline, the week plus one. A second outline, within this first one is the ancient Spring and Fall holy days, as the first (brief) and the second (long) advent of Jesus - Leviticus chapter 23.}

     9 The Lord isn’t slow to fulfill his promise as some might think of slowness, but he is patient, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. {And that all that might be born will be born?} 10 But the day of the LORD will come {surreptitiously} like a thief. And then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be revealed. [The three mentions of lake of fire, are at huge fiery events. The last one is in Revelation, 21, verses 1-5, the fiery regenesis. The first is at armageddon battle. Prophecy descriptions are sometimes described as their full effects, their first and last effects in a a sort of swirl. Aka, here, and “the seals”.]

     11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be, living lives of truth, goodness and godliness, 12 while expectantly waiting for the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! [Rev.21:1-5] 13 But according to his promise! We are waiting for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness will be at home. {And rule..}

     14 Therefore, beloved, since you’re waiting for these {the world’s armageddon.. and the much later regenesis when God says “behold! I make all new!” And after which, “the bear will graze with the cow, and the lion will eat straw like the ox” Isaiah 11:7} be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish - and at peace. 15 And think of the patience of our LORD as salvation [soteria - welfare, deliverance, preservation, prosperity, salvation, safety]. This is just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given to him, 16 as he writes in his letters, when he writes  of these matters, in which there are some things hard to understand, which the unknowing and unstable twist {get confused} to their own ruin, as they do the other Scriptures. 17 You therefore, beloved, knowing all this beforehand, take care that you’re not carried away with the error of lawless people. And lose your own stability. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

     05/25 - GospeL Verses

1 - When morning came, the leaders of the people - all the chief priests and elders - took counsel against Jesus to have him put to death. 2 They bound him and led him away and delivered him over to Pilate the governor.

     3 Then when Judas, his betrayer, saw that Jesus was condemned, he changed his mind and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, 4 saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood!” They said, “What do we care? What is it to us?” 5 So he threw down the pieces of silver into the temple, and then he left and went out and hanged himself.

     6 And the chief priests, taking the pieces of silver, said, “It’s not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it’s blood money.” 7 So they took further counsel and bought with them the potter's field as a burial place for strangers. 8 Therefore that field has been called the Field of Blood to this very day. 9 Then was fulfilled what had been spoken by the prophet Jeremiah, saying, “And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of he on whom a price had been set by some of the sons of Israel, 10 and they gave them for the potter's field” as the prophecy stated.

05/24 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

18 - Speaking loud boasts of folly, they entice by sensual passions of human nature, those who only recently escaped from those who live in error. 19 They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption. For whatever overcomes a person, to that they are a slave. 20 For if, after we have escaped the contamination of the world through knowing of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we are again entangled in them and overcome, the last state has become worse than the first. 21 For it would have been better never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered. 22 Then what the proverb says has happened! “The dog returns to its vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.”

     3:1 - This is now the second letter I’m writing to you, beloved. In both of them I’m stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder, 2 that you should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through the apostles, 3 knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days scoffing, following their own sinful desires. 4 They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” 5 For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, 6 and that by means of these the world that then existed {where “every thought was only evil” thus act, imperfect is an abyss of potential and pre-flood was hands off.. even(?) was cannibaalism, widespread? So was} deluged with water and perished. {Like being transplanted in an untilled garden awaiting resurrection into an “aionion kolasin” / eonian korrection / aGe of correction during the 8th millennial day.} 7 But by the same word {logos - truth? reasoning} the heavens and earth that now exist have stored up fire as judgment {Is.24:20/Rev.10:4} and the destruction of ungodly man{kind}. {During “8th ‘day’ is GWT judgment ‘day’ a great day of total review, and closure, for all. And so shall imperfection, and self first and foremost, be fully removed from off of mankind.}

MATTHEW 26 58-75 or JOHN 18 15-27

 a paraphrased ‘enter the story’

 🍃🕊️reading & study 🕊️🍃

     05/24 - GospeL Verses

  (Eye witness accounts always differ in details.)

Mt.26:58 - Peter was following at a distance. He went as far as the courtyard of the high priest. And then going inside the courtyard, he sat with the guards to see what would happen. 59 Now the chief priests and the whole council of leaders were seeking false testimony against Jesus, so they could have him put to death. 60 But although many false witnesses came forward, they found none.

    At last two came forward 61 who said, “This man said, ‘I’m able to destroy the temple of God, and rebuild it in three days.’” 62 So the high priest stood up and said, “Have you no answer to make?! What is it that these men accuse you of?”

     63 But Jesus remained silent. And the high priest said to him, “I adjure you by the living God, tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God.” 64 Jesus answered him, “You have said so. But I tell you now, you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

     65 Then the high priest tore his robes and said, “He has uttered blasphemy. What further witnesses do we need? You have now heard his blasphemy! 66 What is your judgment?” They answered, “He deserves death.” 67 Then they spit in his face and struck him. And some slapped him, 68 saying, “Prophesy to us, you Christ! Who is it that struck you?”

     69 Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard. And a servant girl came up to him and said, “You also were with Jesus the Galilean.” 70 But he denied it before all, saying, “I don’t know what you mean.” 71 And he went out to the entrance, but another servant girl saw him, and she said to the bystanders, “This man was with Jesus of Nazareth.” 72 And again he denied it with an oath, “I do not know the man!” 73 After a little while the bystanders came up and said to Peter, “Certainly you too are one of them, for you you have the Galilean accent.” 74 Then he began to curse and swear, “I tell you! I do not know the man!” And immediately he heard a rooster crow. 75 And he remembered how Jesus had said, “Before the rooster crows, you’ll deny me three times.” And he went out and wept bitterly.

     Jn.18:15 - Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple (John, the author). Since that disciple was known to the high priest, he entered with Jesus into the courtyard of the high priest. 16 But Peter stood outside near the door. So the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, spoke to the servant girl who kept watch at the door, and brought Peter in. 17 The servant girl at the door said to Peter, “You’re not one of this man's disciples, are you?” And he said, “No I’m not.” 18 Now the servants and officers had made a charcoal fire, because it was cold, and they were standing and warming themselves. So Peter stood with them, warming himself.

     19 The (former) high priest (father in law to the current, Jn.18:13) was questioning Jesus about his disciples and his teaching. 20 Jesus answered him, “I’ve spoken openly to the world. I’ve taught in the synagogues and in the temple, where all come together. I’ve said nothing in secret. 21 Why do you ask me? Ask those who’ve heard me what I said. For they know what I’ve said.” 22 One of the officers standing by struck Jesus with his hand, saying, “Is that how you answer the high priest?” 23 Jesus answered him, “If what I said is wrong, bear witness about the wrong, but if what I said is right, why do you strike me?” 24 Then Annas sent him, still bound, to Caiaphas the (acting) high priest.

     25 Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself, and they said to him, “Are you not one of his disciples?” He denied it, saying, “No, I’m not.” 26 But one of the servants of the high priest, who was a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, asked, “Didn’t I see you in the garden with him?” 27 Peter again denied it. And at once a rooster crowed.

05/23 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

8 - For as a righteous one living day after day, in a fallen city, he (Lot) was tormented of soul over the lawless deeds he saw and heard. 9 But the Lord knows how to deliver the devout from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous unto ‘day’ of judgment and correction [kolazo - chastise, correct, properly - curtail, punish]. {Punishment being the extreme of curtail/correct.} 10 Especially those who indulge in the lust of defiling [miasmos - contaminating, polluting, corrupting] passion and despise {Christ’s} authority {and instructions?}. Bold and willful, they don’t tremble as they blaspheme,11 whereas angels, though greater in might and power, don’t pronounce a judgment against them before the LORD. 12 But these, like irrational animals, creatures of instinct, born to come to ruin and to be captured {jailed?} blaspheming/railing about matters of which they are ignorant, will also be ruined in their destruction {earthly} 13 suffering wrong as the wage {result} for their wrongdoing. They count it pleasure to be drunk in the daytime. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions, while they feast with you. 14 They have eyes full of adultery, and are insatiable. They entice unsteady souls. They have hearts trained in avarice. Children of a curse! 15 Forsaking the right way, they’ve gone astray. They have followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved gain and advantage from wrongdoing, 16 but was rebuked by a speechless donkey speaking with human voice and restrained the prophet's madness.

     17 These are waterless springs. Mists driven by a storm. For whom gloom of darkness has been kept [téreó - kept, guarded, observed, watched over, reserved].

     05/23 - GospeL Verses

Jn.18:3 - So Judas, with a band of soldiers, and officers from the leaders, the chief priests and Pharisees, went there with torches, lanterns and swords. 4 Jesus, knowing all that would happen to him, came forward and said, “Who do you seek?” 5 They answered, “Jesus of Nazareth.” And Jesus said, “I am he.” Judas, who betrayed him, was standing with them.

     6 When Jesus said to them, “I am he,” they drew back and fell to the ground. 7 So he asked them again, “Who do you seek?” And they said, “Jesus of Nazareth.” 8 Jesus answered, “I told you, I am he. So, if you seek me, let these go.” 9 This was to fulfill the word that he had spoken: “Of those whom you gave me I have not lost one.”

     10 Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest's servant, named Malchus, and cut off his right ear. 11 So Jesus said to Peter, “Sheath your sword. Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?” {The true Passover sacrifice, strong enough to appease eveRy conscience. Imperfection is an abyss of potential ..and is entropy/this slow gehenna that “does not quit”, thus the resurrection. And the remedy strong enough to appease eveRy conscience and convince every psyche for reconciliation to Life/God.}

     12 So the band of soldiers and their captain and the officers of the Hebrew/Jewish leaders arrested Jesus, bound him, 13 led him to Annas, for he was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, who was high priest that year. 14 It was Caiaphas who had advised the Jews that it would be expedient that one man should die for the people. {A prophecy but which he meant on behalf of theiR seats within the Roman Empire occupation.}

     Mt.26:47 - While he was still speaking, Judas came, one of the twelve, and with him a great crowd with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and the elders (leaders) of the people. 48 Now the betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “The one I kiss in greeting is the one. Seize him.” 49 And he came up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” And kissed him. 50 Jesus said, “Friend, do what you came to do.”

     Then they laid hands on him and seized him. 51 And then, one of those who were with Jesus drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his ear! 52 But Jesus said, “Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will - perish (earthly) - by the sword. (And Jesus healed the ear, Lk.22:51.) 53 Do you think I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels? 54 But how then should the Scriptures be fulfilled, that this must be so?” 55 At that hour Jesus said to the crowd, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs? Day after day I sat in the temple teaching, and you didn’t seize me. 56 But all this has taken place that the Scriptures of the prophets be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.

     57 And those who had seized Jesus led him to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders had gathered.

     {All eye witness accounts differ in details. Indeed if not, we are suspicious.)

(The previous verse - 1:21 For no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but men spoke from God, as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit{/Presence of God}. 1 - But also false prophets arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly bring in destructive teachings, even denying the one who bought them, bringing upon theirselves swift ruin. 2 And many will follow their example, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 And in their avarice [pleonexia - avarice, lust, aggression, desire for advantage] they will exploit you with false words. Their judgment from long ago isn’t idle, and their ruin doesn’t slumber. 4 For if God didn’t spare angels when they sinned, but cast them to chains of deepest darkness, locked into judgment being kept. 5 If he wasn’t lenient with the ancient world, but preserved Noah - a preacher of righteousness {how Jesus went via the Spirit to preach to those headed to destruction while the ark was being built.. which took a hundred years. Saved Noah} with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly. {Imperfect is an abyss of potential, pre-flood was hands off. Now they await “resurrection” into GWT judgment ‘day’, the aionion kolasis/correction.} 6 And the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, reduced to ashes of destruction, are an example of what is coming upon the ungodly world. {Is.24:20/Rev.10:4} 7 And if he rescued righteous Lot, greatly distressed by the wanton conduct of the wicked..      05/22 - GospeL Verses

30 - And when they had sung a hymn, they went out of the city to the mountainside of olives. 31 Then Jesus said, “You will all fall away this night. For it’s written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’ 32 But after I’m raised, I will go before you to Galilee.”

     33 Peter said, “Though they all fall away from you, I will never fall away!” 34 Jesus said to him, “Truly, I tell you, this very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” 35 Peter said, “Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you!” And all the disciples said the same.

     36 Then they went to the garden called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here, while I go a little ways to pray.” 37 And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee (John and James) he began to be troubled and sorrowful. 38 And he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death. {I feel like it’s killing me.} Remain here, and watch [grégoreó - watch, be vigilant, stay awake] with me.” 39 And going a little further, he fell upon his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me. But, not as I will, as you will.” {Something strong enough to appease eveRy conscience. After all, imperfection, besides being entropy/gehenna, is an abyss of potential. Already proven many times.} 40 And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “Could you not watch with me for one hour? 41 Watch and pray you don’t enter into temptation for the spirit is willing, but human nature is weak.” {And easily led away?} 42 Again, for a second time, he prayed, “My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, let your will be done.” 43 And again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. 44 So, leaving them again, he prayed for a third time, saying the same words. 45 Then he came to the disciples and said, “You’ll have to sleep and take your rest later, see the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. 46 Rise, let us be going. My betrayer is at hand.”

05/21 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

9 - For whoever lacks these qualities is nearsighted and blind, having forgotten that they were cleansed from the former things which dragged them down, captured them and made them miserable.

     10 Therefore, brothers and sisters, be all the more determined and diligent to confirm (lock in) your calling and election. For if you reflect these qualities you’ll not fall away. 11 And there’ll be an open entry provided for you. An entrance into the enduring kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. {At his (full) return.}

     12 Therefore I plan to always remind you of all this, even though you know the truth and are established in it. 13 I think it right, to stir you to a lasting remembrance of these things, as long as I am in this body. [When we rise to meet him, we rise in a new body] {likely with the same but higher/perfect dna?} 14 Since I know that the putting off of my body will be soon, as our Lord Jesus has made clear to me. 15 So I make every effort, that after I am absent, you may be able at any time to recall these things.

     16 For it wasn‘t cleverly devised myths we were following, when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. For we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 For when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the kingly glory saying, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” 18 We ourselves heard this very voice coming from heaven, for we were with him on the holy mountain. 19 And besides all that, we have the prophetic word fully confirmed (acted out before our eyes) to which we all do well to pay attention, as to a lamp giving its light in a dark place, until the day dawns! And the morning star rises in your hearts, 20 knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is for someone's own interpretation. {Forget about “it’s all about me.”} 21 For no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but men spoke from God, as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit{/Presence of God}.

1 - In the first book, O Theophilus, I (Luke) have dealt with all that Jesus did and taught 2 until the day he was taken up, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit{/Presence of God} to the apostles he had chosen. [Luke is a Greek doctor who met Paul when Paul was traveling. Like the gospel account he wrote, some in this book must have been compiled by interviews. He traveled some with Paul, we can see by where he uses the word “we”.]

     3 Jesus - with proofs - presented himself alive after his suffering (after his execution) having appeared to them over forty days, speaking about the kingdom of God. 4 And while he was still here, he told them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father. “The promise I have told you about” Jesus said [Jn.14:16, Lk.24:49]. 5 “For John baptized with water, but you’ll be baptized with the Holy Spirit (with God’s veRy Presence!) a few days from now.” 6 And they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?”7 He answered, “It’s not for you to know the times and seasons that the Father has fixed. 8 But you’ll receive power when the Holy Spirit(/Presence of God with you) has come upon you, and then you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in (neighboring) Samaria, and to the very ends of earth.” 9 And when he had said these things, they saw him lifted up, for a cloud took him out of their sight. 10 And while they were gazing into heaven watching as he went, behold, two men stood nearby in white (aka, radiant?) robes, 11 and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you, will come in the same way, as you saw him, go up.”

     12 Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mountain called “of Olives” which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey away. 13 And they went up to the upper room, where they were staying, Peter and John, James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot and Judas the son of James. 14 They were spending their time in prayer, with the women and Mary, mother of Jesus, along with his (birth) brothers.

     15 And during those days Peter stood up among the believers (the number of which was about 120) and said, 16 “Brothers and sisters, the Scripture was fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke in earlier times by (king) David concerning Judas, who is the one who became guide to those who arrested Jesus. 17 For he was numbered among us and allotted his part in this ministry.” 18 Now this man [Judas] acquired a field with the reward (coins) of his wickedness, and then fell upon a sword and 19 all Jerusalem heard of it, and so in their language they named the field Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood — {This is one way it was remembered and thought of by the time of this writing, which was some time later. Paul writes it as occurring differently.) 20 “For it’s written” Peter continued, “in the Book of Psalms, ‘May his place (seat, office) become desolate, and let there be no one to dwell in it’ and ‘Let another take his place.’ 21 So one of the men who have been with us during all the time when the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, 22 beginning from the baptism of John until the day when he was taken up - one of these men must become with us a witness to his resurrection.”

     23 And so they put forward two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was also called Justus, and Matthias. 24 And they prayed, saying, “You, Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which one of these two you have chosen 25 to take the place in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.” [Topos - place, region, seat, part] (“all the world is a stage”.. Shakespeare.) 26 And then they cast lots, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven. {“Chosen” anybody chosen is by a lucky shake of the heavenly dice? For it’s not according to any sort of worth. He simply decided for his purposes to call/wake up some now, and the rest later - Lev.23:23-36.}

     05/21 - GospeL Verses

(Jesus praying aloud after supper on the evening of his arrest.) 12 - “While I was with them, I kept them in your name {in THE God Most High} [onoma - name, reputation, character, cause] which you have given me. I have guarded them, and not one of them has been lost. Except the son of destruction [apóleia - destruction, ruin, loss, perdition] that the Scripture be completed. {Kept, and guarded.} {A child of perdition .. “all the world’s a stage” Shakespeare. 13 But now I’m coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, so my joy may be in them. 14 I have given them your word [logos - message, speech, word(s), account, reason; from lego, a word, an expression of a thought; logos - reasoning expressed by words] and ‘the world has hated’ them because they’re not “of the world” just as I’m not of the world.15 I don’t ask that you take them out of the world. But that you keep them from the evil. 16 They’re not of the world, just as I’m not “of the world”.17 Sanctify [hagiazó - sanctify, make holy, consecrate, set apart, purify] {baptize!} them in the Truth. Your word is Truth.

     18 For as you sent me into the world, so I am sending them. 19 And for their sake I sanctify/dedicate myself, that they also may be sanctified in {and dedicated to} truth. 20 I don’t ask for these only, but also for all who will believe in me through their word, 21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so the world may believe you have sent me. 22 The glory that you have given me I have given to them. This is so they may be one, even as we are one. 23 I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. 24 Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you’ve given to me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father, even though the world doesn’t know you, I know you, and these know that you sent me. 26 I made known to them your name [onoma - name, character, reputation, cause] and I will continue to make it known, so the love with which you have loved me may be in them. And I in them.”

     18 After this, Jesus went out with his disciples across Kidron brook, where there was a garden (grove of olive trees). 2 Now Judas, who betrayed him, also knew the place, for Jesus often went there with his disciples.

05/20 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

(This letter is from) 1 - Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ. To those who have obtained a faith - of equal standing with ours - by the righteousness of our god and savior Jesus Christ. 2 May grace and peace be plentiful toward you in the knowing of God and of Jesus our Lord.

     3 By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life, through the true knowledge of he who called us by his own glory and excellence. 4 By which he has granted to us his priceless and very great promises, so that through them we may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the world’s corruption [phthora - corruption, destruction, decay, decomposition, dissolution]. 5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith, virtue [areté - goodness, virtue] and to goodness add knowledge, 6 and to knowledge, self-control, and to self-control, steadfastness, and to steadfastness add godliness, 7 and to godliness add brotherly/genuine affection, and to brotherly affection add love. 8 For if these qualities are yours, and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective, or unfruitful, in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus.

                a paraphrased study

8 - And the four living creatures, each with six wings, full of eyes all around, and within, day and night never cease to say, “Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD God Almighty! Who was, and is, and is to come!”

     9 And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to he who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before he who is seated on the throne. And they worship he who lives forever and ever.

     And they cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 “Worthy are you, our LORD and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all, and by your will they exist and were created.” {The summary of what we learn, via life as we presently know it, this all important contrast, and crucible of imperfection, which alas, is an abyss of potential. And because God iS Life and “is perfect” (mt.5:48) is entropy, a slow gehenna process that “does not quit”. Thus! Christ Crucified, strong enough to convince and appease every conscience and psyche. Because no option to stray in Eden and we would have had to be an ant farm. We inherit enduring Life but which we fully know is His. THUS! the representatives (the waved in the air firstfruits representing the entire harvest) cast their crowns of Life to the feet of LORD God Almighty who is Life, and is the source of all and every good thing oF Life.}

05/19 ~ From New Testament Letters

8 - Be sober-minded and watchful, for your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a restless roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 Resist him, firm in your faith! Knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. 10 And after you’ve suffered a little while, the God of grace - who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ - will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 11 To him is the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

     12 By Silvanus (Silas, who worked, and traveled somewhat with Paul) whom I regard as a faithful brother, I have written briefly, urging and declaring to you, that this is the true grace of God (we have taught you, and written about in this letter). Stand firm in it. 13 She {the church which is} at Babylon [was code for Rome] who is likewise chosen, sends you greetings, and so does Mark, my son. [Mark who wrote one of the gospels, likely by interviews. A young man(?) who was a scribe/able to write, and worked for the cause of God, in Jesus.] 14 Greet one another with the kiss of love.

JOHN 16 17-33

     05/19 - GospeL Verses

17 - So some of the twelve said to one another, “What does he mean, ‘In a little while, you won’t see me, then, in a little while, you will see me, because I’m going to the Father’? 18  And what does he mean by ‘a little while’?”

     19 Jesus knew they wanted to ask him, so he said, “Is this what you are asking among yourselves, what I mean by saying, ‘A little while and you won’t see me, and again, in a little while, you will see me’? 20 Very truly I tell you, you will weep, and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn to joy. 21 When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour’s come, but when she has delivered the child, she no longer remembers the anguish for joy that a human being has come into the world. 22 So also you, you’ll have sorrow now, but I’ll see you again, and your hearts will rejoice. And no one will ever take your joy from you! 23 In that day you’ll ask nothing of me. Truly, I tell you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. 24 Until now you’ve asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you’ll receive, so your joy will be full.

     25 I’ve told you these things in parables and figurative speech. But the hour’s coming when I’ll no longer use figures of speech but will tell you openly and plainly about the Father. 26 In that day you’ll ask in my name, and I don’t say that I’ll ask the Father on your behalf, 27 for the Father himself loves you, and is happy that you have loved me, and have believed that I came from him. 28 I came from the Father and have come into the world, and now I’m leaving the world and going to the Father.”

     29 And the disciples said, “Now you’re talking plainly, and not in figurative speech. 30 We know you know all things and don’t need anyone to question you, and so we believe you came from God.” 31 Jesus answered, “Do you believe? 32 Behold, the hour’s coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own house, and will leave me alone. Yet I’m not alone, for the Father’s with me. 33 I have told you all this, so that in me, you will have peace. In the world you’ll have tribulation [thlipsis - pressures, afflictions, troubles, persecutions]. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

1 - So I urge the elders among you - as a fellow elder, and as a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed - 2 shepherd the flock of God that’s among you, exercising oversight, not as unpleasant duty, but genuinely, as God would have it. And not for shameful gain, but with genuine interest and concern. 3 Not domineering over those in your charge! But as examples to his flock. 4 And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. {Of Life, not metal.} 5 Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders, but all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another. For “God opposes the proud! But gives grace to the humble.” 6 So humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so at the proper time he may exalt you. 7 And cast all your cares upon him, because he cares for you.

     I didn’t say these things to you from the beginning, because I was with you. 5 But now I’m going to he who sent me, and none of you ask me, ‘Where are you going?’ 6 But because I’ve said these things, sorrow has filled your hearts. 7 Yet, I tell you the truth, it’s to your advantage that I go away. Because if I don’t go away, the helper/sustainer will not come to you. {“You must be born again/from above”? The born again breath of Life.} Of which, if I go, I will send to you. 8 And when he” {the Shekinah?} comes, he will convince the world concerning sin [hamartia - missing the mark] and concerning righteousness and judgment. 9 Concerning sin, because they don’t believe in me, 10 concerning righteousness, because I am going to the Father, and you will see me no longer. 11 Concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

     12 I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 When shall come he, the spirit of truth, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak of himself, but whatever to hear, he will speak, and things coming will declare to you. 14 He will honor and bestow glory upon me, and that which is mine, he will make known to you. 15 All that the Father has is mine. That’s why I say he will reveal to you what is mine. 16 A little while now, and you will see me no longer. Then a little while, and you’ll see me again.”

05/17 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

9 - Show hospitality to one another without grudging. 10 For as each has received a gift - use it to serve one another! As good stewards of God's varied grace. 11 Whoever speaks, be as one who speaks the oracles of God. Whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God gives. This is in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion age to age. Amen.

     12 Beloved, don’t be surprised at the fieRy trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. 13 But rejoice, as you share Christ's sufferings, you also will rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. 14 If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. 15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, as a thief, or as an evildoer, or a meddler. 16 Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let them not be ashamed, but let them glorify God in the Lord’s name [onoma - name, character, fame, reputation, cause]. 17 For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God. And if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who don’t obey the gospel (good nrws) of God? {Not an ‘eternal’ outcome, but earthly, like the rest of ones life, it being cause and effect.} 18 And “If the righteous are saved [sózó - saved, rescued, delivered, healed, preserved] with difficulty, where will appear the ungodly and sinner?” 19 Therefore let those who suffer according [kata - according to, down, throughout, by, against] God's will, entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.

But because you’re not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than their master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you. 1 - Since therefore Jesus suffered in this life, arm yourselves with the same thinking, for whoever has suffered in this life, has ceased from habitual wrongdoing, 2 and strives to live for the rest of the time in this life, no longer for human passions but for the will of God. 3 For the time is past and suffices for doing what the nations {natural, imperfect mankind} want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, carousing, and the lawlessness idolatry results in. 4 So people {especially gentile nations at the time?} think it strange when you don’t run with them in the way of debauchery {gentile rites} and they speak evil of you. 5 But they’ll give account to he who is - ready to judge the living and the dead. 6 And - to this end indeed - even to the dead, the good news is announced. {During second half of millennium 8.} So judged {and discerned} indeed according to mankind in this life {as we presently know it} but alive however in the spirit according to God.

     7 The end of all things is at hand {that age, concluding at 70 CE} therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. 8 Above all, keep genuinely and wholeheartedly loving one another, since love covers a multitude of sins [of hamartia - missing the mark, flaws, shortcomings].

I make aLL new!” To which translators (due to unbelief?) added the word “things”. Still true, but a downgrade..} And the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. {In a bonfire, likely manmade armageddons, large and small. We do not gather branches to burn in a never ending fire in the center of earth, or elsewhere. Creation will be again “all good”.}  7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. 9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments/instructions/sayings/words, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you! And that your joy may be full.

     12 “And this is my commandment - that you love one another (left aNd right!!!! are we listen-inG?? Get our heads out of “the world”. Division is the siren caLL to armageddon(s) large and small) — aS I have loved you! 13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down their life for their friends. 14 You are my friends iF you do what I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant doesn’t know what his master is doing. ButI have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. 17 These things I command you - so, you will love one another.”

05/15 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

15 - In your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason of the hope [hope, expectation, trust, confidence] that’s in you, yet with gentleness and respect, 16 having a good conscience, so - when - you are slandered, those who insult your good behavior in Christ may be refuted. 17 It’s better to suffer for doing good, if that be God's will, than for doing evil. 18 For Christ also suffered once for sins [harmartia - missing the mark, falling short, imperfection, wrongs] the righteous [dikaios - righteous, just, upright, approved] on behalf of the unrighteous [a-dikos - unjust, unrighteous, wicked, treacherous, unapproved] that he might bring us to God, having put to death flesh {carnal} made alive however in spirit. 19 Same as he went and proclaimed to the spirits under guard {locked into the coming deluge} 20 because in the old time, they didn’t obey, when was waiting God's patience in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through. 21 And baptism, which corresponds to this {perishing of the self centered/self first carnality} now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body {bodily bathing} but as an appeal to God for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven, and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been made subject to him.

     05/15 - GospeL Verses

22 - Judas (not Iscariot, Jude) said to him, “Lord, how is it that you’ll reveal yourself to us, and not to the world?” 23 Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, they’ll keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we’ll come and make our home with them. 24 And whoever doesn’t love me doesn’t keep my words. And the word/message you hear isn’t mine but the Father's who sent me.

     25 “These things I’ve spoken to you while I’m still with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit {/Presence of God} which the Father will send in my name, will teach you all and bring to your remembrance all I’ve said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you, and not as the world gives, so let not your hearts be troubled, nor let them be afraid. 28 You heard me say, ‘I’m going away, and will come to you.’ If you loved me, rejoice. Because I’m going to the Father, and the Father is greater than I. 29 And now, I’ve told you before it happens, so when it does take place you will believe.

     30 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no claim on me. 31 But I do as the Father has instructed me, so the world may know that I love the Father. Rise up, let us go from here.”

1 Peter 3 7-14

 a paraphrased ‘enter the story’

05/14 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

7 - Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing respect to the woman as the (physically) weaker vessel, so your prayers may not be hindered. After all, they are heirs with you of the grace of life. 8 Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble spirit. 9 Do not repay evil for evil nor insult for insult. But on the contrary! Bless. For to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. 10 For “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit! 11 Let them turn away from evil and do good, let them seek peace - and pursue it. 12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the countenance of the Lord is against those who DO evil.” {..If we do not seek peace, we do evil?}

     13 Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them. Nor be troubled.

     05/14 - GospeL Verses

12 - “Truly, I tell you, whoever believes in me will also do the works I do, and greater works than these they will do, because I’m going to the Father. {Greater works, further reach, and don’t forget during his long second advent.} 13 Whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so - the Father may be glorified - in the Son. 14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

     15 If you love me, you’ll keep my commandments/instructions/sayings. 16 And I’ll ask the Father, and he’ll give you another help [paráklētos - from pará - from close-beside, and kaléō - make the call, properly, a legal advocate who makes the right judgment-call because close enough to the situation, someone giving evidence that stands up in court] to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit {Presence (with us)} of Truth (the Father, who is Life), whom the world can’t receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.

     18 “I won’t leave you as orphans, but will come to you. {At the end of that age, at Pentecost, and later, as fully present at the culmination of history, this unavoidable, all important contrast, a slow gehenna crucible, entropy/imperfection.} 19 Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you’ll see me. Because I live, you will live also. 20 In that day you’ll know that I’m in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. 21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, are those who love me. And those who love me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and I will make myself known to them.”
