GospeL Verses ~ John 13:21-38
21 - Then Jesus was troubled in his spirit, and said, “Truly, I tell you, one of you is going to betray me.” 22 The disciples looked at one another, not knowing what to think. 23 One of his disciples, whom Jesus loved (this is John, it’s how he sometimes referred to himself) was at the table by Jesus, 24 so Simon Peter motioned to him to ask Jesus of whom he was speaking. 25 So that disciple, leaning close to Jesus said, “Lord, who is it?” 26 Jesus answered, “It is he to whom I will give this morsel of bread when I have dipped it.” So when he had dipped the morsel, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. 27 Then after Judas had taken the morsel, Satan entered into him, and Jesus said to him, “What you’re going to do, do quickly.” 28 Now no one at the table knew why he said this. 29 Some thought because Judas had the moneybag, Jesus was telling him to go buy what they would need for the feast or that he should give something to the poor.
30 And so it was, that after receiving the morsel of bread, Judas went out into the night.
31 And when he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God glorified in him. 32 If God is glorified in him (first advent?) also God will glorify him in himself (second advent?) and at once. 33 Little children, it’s only a short while that I am with you. You will seek me, and just as I said to the other of your countrymen, ‘Where I am going you cannot go.’ 34 And now a new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all will know you are my disciples, if you have love (true affection) for one another.” 36 Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus answered, “Where I’m going you cannot follow me now, but you’ll follow me afterward.” 37 Peter said to him, “Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you!” 38 Jesus answered, “Will you lay down your life for me? Truly, I tell you Peter, the rooster will not crow till you have denied me three times.”

~ 1 Peter 2:17-25 ~
17 - Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor. 18 Servants/workers (in a work for a loan of money or land system) be subject to your masters/misters/boss with respect. And not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust. 19 For this is a mindful thing, when conscious of God, if one endures sorrow while suffering unjustly. 20 For what credit is it, if you sin and when suffering for it, you endure? But if when you do good, you suffer for it with quiet endurance, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God. 21 Indeed to this you’ve been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so you might follow in his steps. 22 He committed no sin, neither did any falsehood cross his lips. 23 When he was insulted, he didn’t insult in return. And when he suffered, he didn’t threaten, but continued entrusting himself to he who judges justly. 24 And he suffered for us, bearing our sins in his body on the tree. That we might die to sin and live to all that is right. It is by his wounds you have been healed. 25 For like sheep, you were straying, but you have now returned (a pleasant sacrifice, a whole burnt offering) to the shepherd and bishop [episkopos - superintendent, bishop, from epΓ - upon, a fitting contact, which intensifies skopΓ³s - look intently, keep an eye on (you have returned to the) overseer, manager] of your soul.
