02/28 ~ From New Testament Letters
🕊️ (In the Order Believed Written)
Paul’s Letter To The Romans
8 - For if we live, we live unto the Lord, and if we die, we die unto the Lord. So! Whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's! 9 It’s for this reason Christ died, and then lived again. That he might - be Lord - of both the living and the dead.
10 So why would we pass judgment on our brother or sister? Or you, why do you despise your fellow believer? We will all stand before the judgment/justice seat of God. 11 For it’s written, “As I live, says the LORD, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue confess [exomologeó - confess, acknowledge, give thanks] to God.” 12 So each of us will give an account of theirself to God. 13 So let us not pass judgment on one another, but rather decide, never, to put a stumbling block or a hindrance in the way of a brother or sister. 14 I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself, but it is unclean for anyone who thinks it’s unclean. (Still talking about foods.) 15 For if your brother or sister is grieved by what you eat, you’re no longer walking in love. Don’t destroy the one for whom Christ died, because of your preference of what to eat or not eat. 16 And don’t let what you regard as good be spoken of as evil. {Or you may come under feelings of guilt.} 17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking. But of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit{/Presence of God}. 18 Whoever serves Christ is acceptable to God, and should be by people as well. 19 So then let us pursue what makes for peace, and for mutual upbuilding and encouragement. {Each one of us will fully discern the log in our eye at God’s throne.] 20 Don’t, for the sake of food (or days?) destroy the work of God. Everything is indeed clean, but it is wrong for anyone to make another stumble by what they approve. 21 It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that causes your brother or sister to stumble. 22 The faith that you have, keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who has no reason to pass judgment upon theirself for what they give thanks for. 23 But if they have doubts they will come under guilt if they eat, because the eating is not from faith. For whatever isn’t of faith is sin [hamartia - misses the mark].
