           Mark 5:1-20

1 - Jesus and his disciples crossed Lake Galilee and came to shore near the town of Gerasa. 2 When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an impure spirit came from the tombs to meet him. 3 This man lived in the burial caves, and no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain. 4 For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet.๐Ÿ˜ณ No one was strong enough to subdue him. 5 Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.☹️ 6 When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. 7 He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In the name of God, I beg you, don’t torture me! 8 For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you impure spirit!” 9 “What is your name?” Jesus asked. And he answered saying, "My name is Legion, for we are many." 10 He then begged Jesus not to send them away. 11 A large herd of pigs was feeding on the nearby hillside. 12 The demons begged him, “Send us among the pigs, let us enter into them.” 13 (Infamous #13) Jesus let them go, and they went out of the man and into the pigs. The whole herd of about 2,000 pigs rushed down the steep bank into the lake and drowned. 14 Those tending the pigs ran off and reported this in the town and countryside, and the people went out to see what had happened. 15 When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were all afraid. 16 Then those who had seen what had happened to the demon-possessed man, told them what had happened—and told about the pigs as well. 17 Then the people began to plead with Jesus to leave their region. 18 As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon possessed begged to go with him. 19 But Jesus said, “No, go home to your family, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been.” 20 So the man went away and began to proclaim to the Ten Towns of that region how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.

5  Now the message that we have heard from his Son and announce is this: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. 6 If we say we have fellowship/communion with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we live in the light, as God does, we share in life with each other. And the blood of his Son Jesus washes all our flaws and shortcomings [hamartia - missing the mark] away. 8 If we claim we have no sin [the word is hamartia - missing the mark] we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. 9 But if we confess our sins and shortcomings and mistakes to him, he is a faithful and just Father to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from it all. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word/message is not in us.

          Luke 8:26-39

26 Jesus and his disciples sailed across Lake Galilee and came to shore near the town of Gerasa. 27 As Jesus was climbing out of the boat, a man who was possessed by demons (angels gone rogue) came out to meet him. For a long time he had been homeless and naked, living in the tombs outside of town. 28 As soon as he saw Jesus, he shrieked and fell down in front of him. Then he screamed, “Why are you interfering with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Please, I beg you not to torment me!” 29 For Jesus had commanded the impure spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was chained hand and foot and kept under guard, he had broken his chains and been driven by the demon into solitary places.

30 Jesus then asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, “Legion,” for many demons had entered him. 31 And they begged him not to banish them to the abyss. 32 A large herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside. So the demons begged Jesus to let them go into the pigs, and Jesus let them go. 33 When the demons came out of the man, they went into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned. 34 When the herdsmen saw it, they fled to the nearby town and the surrounding countryside, spreading the news as they ran. 35 People rushed out to see what had happened. A crowd soon gathered around Jesus, and they saw the man who had been freed from the demons. He was sitting at Jesus’ feet, fully clothed and perfectly sane, and this frightened them. 36 Then all who had seen the man healed told about it. 37 But fear still swept through them, and they asked Jesus to leave their territory, so he got into the boat and started back. 38 The man who had been freed from the demons begged to go with him. But Jesus sent him home, saying, 39 "Go back home and tell everyone how much God has done for you." The man then went all over town, telling everything that Jesus had done for him.

1 - We (apostles and other disciples/followers) proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, which we heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word [logos - reasoning expressed in words] (so also Truth expressed in Jesus, the word) of life. [Jesus is called “the first/proto” among other things, he’s the prototype.. Only straight out from God one, so close both Father and Son can administer God’s Spirit/Presence. He is also called “the seed” which God is implanting in all. ..How else to have genuinely able to think and reason beings - both angelos (accelerators of this all playing out) and anthropos (mankind) - aNd keep paradise/perfection intact? As thinking includes at least some power of choice.] 2 The life appeared. And we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life (perfection embodied) which was with the Father and has appeared to us. 3 We are telling you what we have seen and heard, so you may share in this life with us. And we share in it (our friendship is) with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things we write, so that our own joy might be complete!

19 Now Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see him, but they were not able to get near him because of the crowd. 20 Someone told Jesus, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, and they want to see you.” 21 Jesus replied, “My mother and my brothers are all those who hear God’s word and obey it.”

22 One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and started out. 23 But as they were sailing along He fell asleep; and a fierce gale of wind descended on the lake, and they began to be swamped and to be in danger. 24 The disciples woke him, shouting, “Master, Master, we’re about to perish!” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves, and suddenly the storm stopped and all was calm. 25 “Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples. In fear and amazement they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him!”

15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. (๐Ÿค” “Sacrifice” can be referring to praise, thanksgiving-called an offering. So Daniel 12:11 does not hAve to mean the Old Covenant blood sacrifices (to appease the delicate human psyche) are reinstated in Israel, and the lawless man (“anthropos” i.e. may noT be singular, or not entirely so). As he sits - “as though” in the temple as God/highest power - a “strong delusion” resulting in the “lawlessness” after the “falling away” from the faith of western civilization, once called Christendom - 2Thes.2. Though there may be a temple rebuilt in Jerusalem on this side of things, but not necessarily hAs to be. Imo.)

16 And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are sacrifices that please God. 17 Continue to follow [peithรณ - to persuade, to have confidence in] and be submissive to your leaders, since they are watching over your souls as those who will have to give a word of explanation (will have to give an account!). By doing this, you will be letting them carry out their duties joyfully, and not with grief, for that would be harmful [alusitelรฉs - profitless, unprofitable, ruinous, detrimental] for you. (Missing the ‘door’ of Mt.25:1-13? Assuming one has GOOD leaders to “follow”.) 18 Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honestly. 19 And especially pray that I will be able to come back to you soon. 20 Now may the God of peace— who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and thus ratifying an eternal covenant with his blood— 21 may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! And some other boats were following along. 37 But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water! 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown!” 39 Then Jesus stood up and commanded the wind to be quiet, and the waves to be still. The wind stopped blowing, and the sea became very calm. 40 Then he asked them, “Why were you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” 41 They were filled with awe, and said to one another, “Who is this? That even the wind and waves obey?”

       ~ Hebrews 13:8-14 ~

8 Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. 9 So do not be attracted by strange, new ideas. Your strength comes from God’s grace, not from (anything else! nor) rules about food, which don’t even help those who follow them. 10 We (believers in Jesus as Messiah/Savior/Lord) have an altar from which the priests in the Tabernacle have no right to eat. (Concerning Old Covenant procedures for “cleansing the conscience”.) [From commentary - (paraphrased) - If you’re depending upon the law - following the rules - to be acceptable to God and Life (God being Life) you have no share in the atonement/acquittal.] (As rules and law is imposed from without which does not work to change the heart and character. But God’s Spirit/Presence within and his grace, aka, empowering energy and compassion/sympathy changes us from within. First step - accepting as real, the acquittal, our guilty conscience that makes us hold back, is convinced and appeased, and now we seek God by obeying his instructions.. through that same grace. “Your faith has made you whole.”)

11 Under the old system, the high priest brought the blood of animals into the Holy Place as a sacrifice for sin. (Remember, even the consciences of the worst of the worst criminals, despots, etc. need to be appeased. The delicate human psyche, even the most innocent, knows itself to be “missing the mark” - translated merely as ‘sin’.) But the bodies of the animals, were completely burned outside the camp. [And unlike thank offerings and whole burnt offerings, were not allowed to be eaten by the priests (their support) nor by those who provided the offering, nor during national banquets on holy days called feasts.]

12 And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate, in order to make the people holy through giving his own blood. 13 So let us go out to him, outside the camp, and bear the disgrace he bore. 14 Because here we have no lasting city - this world is not our permanent home - for we seek the city that is coming (Rev.21:1-7).  (๐Ÿค” His disgrace, he was slandered and labeled.. as a criminal.)

(Stephen, a first martyr, continues.) 38 “Moses was with our ancestors, the assembly of God’s people in the wilderness, when the angel spoke to him at Mount Sinai. And there Moses received life-giving words to pass on to us. 39 But our ancestors refused to listen to Moses. They rejected him and wanted to return to Egypt. 40 They told Aaron, ‘Make for us gods [statues, idols] who will go before us. for we don’t know what has become of this Moses who brought us out of Egypt.’ 41 That was the time they made an idol in the form of a calf. They brought sacrifices to it and were reveling and happy with what they’d done. 42 Then God turned away from them and gave them over to the worship of the sun, moon and stars. In the book of the prophets it is written, ‘Was it to me you were bringing sacrifices and offerings during those forty years in the wilderness, Israel? 43 You took up the tent of Moloch and the star of your god Rephan, the images that you made to worship, so I will take you into exile as far as Babylon.' 44 Our ancestors had the tabernacle of the covenant law with them in the wilderness. It had been made as God directed Moses, according to the pattern he had seen. 45 After receiving the tabernacle, our ancestors under Joshua brought it with them when they took the land from the nations God drove out before them. [The nations that were burning children alive to Baal-Molech, while beating drums (tophet) to drown out the cries.] The tabernacle remained in the land until the time of David. 46 David found favor with God and asked for the privilege of building a permanent Temple for the God of Jacob (whose later name was Israel). 47 But it was Solomon who actually built it. 48 Yet the Most High does not dwell in houses made by hands, as the prophet says, 49 ‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth my footstool. What house will you build me? saith the LORD, or what is the place of my resting? 50 Didn't I make all these things?’ 51 You stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears (especially the Pharisees and scribes of the law) you always resist the Holy Ghost. As your fathers did, you do also. 52 Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who announced beforehand the coming of the righteous one, the messiah whom you have now betrayed and murdered. 53 You deliberately disobeyed God’s law, even though you received it from the hands of angels.” 54 When the leaders and members of the Sanhedrin heard this, they were furious. 55 But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed steadily into heaven and saw the glory of God, and he saw Jesus standing in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 56 “Look,” he said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” 57 Then they put their hands over their ears, began shouting, and rushed at him. 58 Then they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul (later Paul). 59 While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” 60 Falling on his knees, he cried out in a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

God will surely judge people who are sexually immoral and those who commit adultery. 5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” 6 So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper, I will not fear, what can mere man do to me?” 7 Remember your leaders who taught you the word of God. Think of all the good that has come from their lives, and follow the example of their faith.

Truth is Actually Very Simple?

 . . ๐Ÿƒ. . ๐Ÿƒ. .

Mark 4:26,29 - Jesus said, “God's kingdom is like what happens when a farmer scatters seed in a field. And when the fruit is ripe, he puts forth the sickle, because it is time for harvest.”

From Revelation 14:14-19 - And I looked and saw a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was One like the Son of Man, with a golden crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand. .. “Swing Your sickle and reap, because the time has come to harvest; for the crop of the earth is ripe.”

..Then another angel with a sharp sickle.. and still another angel, with authority over fire, came from the altar and called out in a loud voice to the angel with the sharp sickle, “Swing your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of grapes” ..into the winepress outside the city..

Revelation 16:16 - and they gathered to armageddon..

Matthew 13:30 - first gather into bundles, the weeds (to be burned in a bonfire) ..but gather the wheat into My barn.

All this with Mt.13:33, key word 3, as key to 2Cor.15:22-28 - threefold harvest, barley, wheat, grapes.

24 Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you! And to you who hear, more will be given. (The more grace.. and also the more we understand.. Which both are the same thing.) 25 For whoever has will be given more. But whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.” 26 Jesus also said, “The Kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground. 27 Night and day, whether he’s asleep or awake, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. 28 It’s the ground (the loosened soil?) that makes the seeds sprout and grow into plants that produce grain. 29 And as soon as the grain is ready, the farmer comes and harvests it with a sickle, for the harvest time has come” (Rev.14:14-19; Mt. 13:30; Rev.16:13-16).

13 Jesus then told them, “If you don't understand this story, how will you understand any others?

14 The seed the farmer is spreading is really the message about the kingdom. 15 The seed that fell on the footpath represents those who hear the message, but soon the adversary comes and snatches it away from them. 16 Some are like the seeds sown on rocky ground. They hear the word and at once receive it with joy. 17 But they don't have roots, and they don't last very long. As soon as life gets hard or the message gets them into trouble, they give up. 18 Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word, 19 but the worries of this life, the desire to get rich (or famous?) fools them. The desire for other things chokes out the message and no fruit is produced. (Cause -n- effect.) 20 And the seed that fell on good soil represents those who hear and accept God’s message as true, and produce a crop (harvest) of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as was planted.”

[The overall/complete harvest of God - 1Cor.15:22-28 with Mt.13:33, key word 3, three harvests (resurrection/vivifications) “each/everyone (hekastos) in their own order, Christ, barley harvest(1). (2)The wheat at His coming, aNd, (3) comes the end, all subdued, including death (Rev.21:5 - Behold! I make all (pas) new!) that God may be all in all” (the huGe grape harvest), the vivification 500 years/‘five days’ - see Hebrew Fall Holy Days, Lev.23 - after resurrection - called the second resurrection, by calling the first one “first”.] (Conclusion: All/pas seed - his word/message/program matured. His law (love, will, character) etched deeply upon the hearts and minds. All fully “in his image”. Vs.22 - Like all die in/through/because of Adam, all will live in/through/because of Jesus.

            Mark 4:1-12

(This is likely the earliest account of this written, as Mark’s gospel is thought to be the first one written. Mark wasn’t one of the twelve but was a sort of secretary later to Peter, Paul and likely others.)

1 - Once again Jesus began to teach beside the sea, and such a large crowd gathered around Him that He got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people crowded along the shore. 2 He used parables to teach them many things, saying to them, 3 "Listen! A farmer went out to plant seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 And when the sun rose, it was scorched, and since it had no root, it withered away. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no grain. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil, where it sprouted, grew up, and produced a crop, and yielded thirtyfold, sixtyfold or a hundredfold what was planted.” 9 Then he said, “Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand.” 10 Later, when Jesus was alone with the twelve disciples and with the others who were gathered around, they asked him what the parables meant. 11 And he told them, “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside (of believing) everything is said in parables 12 so that, 'Seeing, they might see and not perceive; and hearing, they might hear and not understand, lest at what time [pote - when? at what time] they should turn and be forgiven [aphรญฤ“mi - released].

(1Cor.15:22-24 - “For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in their own order.. [1]those who are Christ’s at His coming, then [2]the end, when He shall hand over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He shall have annulled all dominion, and all authority and power..” including, lastly death, vs.26).

15 Look out for each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many. 16 That there be no sexually immoral, nor godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal. (Mt.25:1-13, door to what?) 17 You know that afterward, when he wanted the-blessing, it was too late, even though he sought it with bitter tears.

18 You have not come to a mountain of flaming fire, darkness, gloom, and whirlwind, as the Israelites did at Mount Sinai. 19 To a trumpet blast and such a voice speaking words that those who heard it begged that no further word be spoken to them, 20 for they could not bear what was commanded, that if so much as a beast touches the mountain, it shall be stoned or shot with an arrow. (Because contaminated with nuclear energy?) 21 Moses himself was so frightened at the sight that he said, “I tremble with fear.” 22 But you, you have come to Mount Zion. (Rev.14:1) To the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, 23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect. (But not yet! Heb.11:39-40, “These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect. 1Cor.15:52 - namely “..at the last trumpet sounding”.) 24 You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness, speaking a far better thing than the blood of Abel. 25 Be careful that you do not refuse to listen to the One who is speaking. For if the people of Israel did not escape when they refused to listen to Moses, the earthly messenger, we will certainly not escape (imo, the naturally occurring judgment) if we reject the One who speaks to us from heaven!

20 Then Jesus went home, and once again a crowd gathered around him, so that He and His disciples had not even time to eat. 21 When his family heard what was happening, they went to get him, for they said, “He is beside himself!”

22 But the teachers of the law who had come down from Jerusalem kept saying, “He has Beelzebul, the prince of demons!” And, “By the ruler of demons he casts out demons.” 23 Jesus told the people to gather around him. Then he spoke to them in riddles and said, “How can Satan cast out Satan? 24 A kingdom divided by itself cannot stand. [Other versions -  If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot last. - A nation whose people fight each other won't last very long. - If a country divides itself into groups which fight each other, that country will fall apart.] 25 And a house divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. 26 And if Satan opposes himself” (instead of the nation or kingdom)  “and is divided, he cannot stand, but his end has come. 27 How can anyone break into the house of a strong man and steal his things, unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can make off with everything. 28 Truly I tell you, all hamartia/missing the mark/sins are forgiven the children of man, and every slander they utter, 29 whoever however, blaspheming (slandering) the Holy Spirit/Presence of God, has not forgiveness to the age (aion) but is guilty of aionios/aionion sin. [Aionios is the adjective of aion/age, so logically - should mean agelong or agelasting.] 30 He said this because they were saying, “He has an impure spirit.” (And it was God’s Spirit/Presence that was the cause and doer of all which Jesus was doing.)

31 Jesus' mother and brothers came and sent a message for him to come out to them. 32 And the crowd sitting around him said, "Your mother and brothers and sisters are outside and want to see you." 33 And answering them, he said, “Who is my mother and my brothers and sisters? 34 Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, “Here are my mother and my brothers and sisters! 35 Anyone who does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.” (And no doubt, as a good Jewish son he then went out to see them.๐Ÿ™‚)

But the devil comes and snatches the message out of their hearts, so they will not believe and be saved. 13 The seeds that fell on rocky ground stand for those who hear the message and receive it with joy, but it doesn’t take deep root within them, and as soon as life gets hard, they fall away. 14 The seeds that fell among the thorns represent those who hear the message, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the cares and riches and pleasures of this life. And so they don’t mature. 15 The seeds that fell in good soil stand for those who hear the message and retain it in a good and obedient heart, and they persist until they bear fruit. 16 No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.” (“All” will see the Light.) 17 “For all that is secret will be brought into the open, and everything that is (now) concealed will be brought to light and made known to all. 18 Take care then how you hear. To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what they think they understand will be taken away from them.”

5 And have you forgotten the encouraging words which God speaks to you as his children? "My child, pay attention when the Lord corrects you, and do not be discouraged when he rebukes you. 6 The Lord corrects the people he loves and disciplines those he calls his own." 7 Sufferings and hardship disciplines us, and what child is there who is not disciplined and trained by a good father. 8 A child not disciplined is not a child of the parent at all. 9 Our earthly fathers instruct and correct us, and we still respect them. Shall we not much more obey the Father of spirits, for the sake of life? 10 Our human fathers correct us for a short time, and they do it as they think best. But God corrects us for our own good, because he wants us to be holy, as he is. (This whole life is the learning of good from not good, that we truly share God’s character.)

Damascus, Gaza, Tyre, Edom, Ammon, Moab …and Judah..

..sold the innocent for silver .. you trample on the heads of the poor as on the dust of the ground and deny justice to the oppressed.. 2:14 The swift will not escape, the strong will not muster their strength, and the warrior will not save his life. 15 The archer will not stand his ground, the fleet-footed soldier will not get away, and the horseman will not save his life. 16 Even the bravest warriors will flee.. 3:6 When a trumpet sounds.. 7 Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets. ..11 An enemy will overrun your land, pull down your strongholds and plunder your fortresses ..15 the mansions will be demolished..

4:1 .. who oppress the poor and crush the needy.. 6 lack of bread in every town.. 11 yet you have not returned to me, declares the Lord. 12 ..prepare to meet your God. 13 He who forms the mountains,    who creates the wind,    and who reveals his thoughts to mankind, who turns dawn to darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth — the Lord God Almighty is his name.

5:9  With a blinding flash he destroys the stronghold and brings the fortified city to ruin..

11 You levy a straw tax on the poor and impose a tax on their grain. Therefore, though you have built stone mansions, you will not live in them; though you have planted lush vineyards, you will not drink their wine. 12 ..There are those who oppress the innocent and take bribes and deprive the poor of justice in the courts. 13  Therefore the prudent keep quiet in such times, for the times are evil. 15 Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts. Perhaps the Lord God Almighty will have mercy..

6:11 ..he will smash the great house into pieces and the small house into bits. 14 Amos answered Amaziah, “I was neither a prophet nor the son of a prophet, but I was a shepherd, and I also took care of sycamore-fig trees. 15 But the Lord took me from tending the flock and said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to my people Israel.’ 16 Now then, hear the word of the Lord. You say, ‘Do not prophesy.. and stop preaching against the descendants of Isaac.’

17 Therefore this is what the Lord says, ‘Israel will surely go into exile, away from their native land’..”

8:1 This is what the Sovereign Lord showed me, a basket of ripe fruit. 2 “What do you see, Amos?” he asked. “A basket of ripe fruit,” I answered. 8 Will not the land tremble for this, and all who live in it mourn? .. 9 “In that day,” declares the Sovereign Lord,

“I will make the sun go down at noon and darken the earth in broad daylight. 11 “The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign Lord, “when I will send a famine through the land — not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the Lord. 12 People will stagger..

9:11 “In that day I will restore David’s fallen shelter — I will repair its broken walls and its ruins — and will rebuild it as it used to be.. 13 “The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when the reaper will be overtaken by the plowman and the planter by the one treading grapes. New wine will drip from the mountains and flow from all the hills, 14 and I will bring my people Israel back from exile. (We are all Israel, when the scales fall from our eyes and we believe, we are “grafted into Israel” and Israel and Jerusalem will be God’s capitol.) They will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them. They will plant vineyards and drink their wine; they will make gardens and eat their fruit. 15 I will plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them..”

            Luke 8:1-8

1 - Soon after this, Jesus was going through towns and villages, telling the good news about God's kingdom. His twelve apostles were with him. 2 And also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and sicknesses [astheneia - weakness, frailty, sickness]. One of the women was Mary Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out of, 3 Joanna, whose husband Chuza was an officer in Herod's court, and Susanna, and many other women who used their own resources to help Jesus and his disciples, were with him also. 4 And when a great crowd was gathering and people from town after town came to him, he told them in a parable, 5 “A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some seed fell along the path and was trampled underfoot. And the birds of the air came and ate it all up. 6 Some other seed fell on rocky ground, and when it came up, the seedling plants withered because they had no water. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it, and overcame and choked it. 8 But still other seed fell on good ground, and it came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.” (A ripple that keeps going?)

When he had said this, he called out, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear!”

(Lk.8:8, makes me think of “on the eighth day..”) (God is showing to us Life and death/no life. Like this life, this all important contrast, is like a ‘parable’ of the decomposing ‘apple’ and the worm that doesn’t stop, so much MORE is the kingdom! That progresses in peace - it’s the world that makes war, Ps.2, and lake of fire is event(s) not a ‘place’ nor never ending. So too does the kingdom not stop. Like the worm/decay/corruption of the apple once even a speck of imperfection shows up, doesn’t stop until the apple is gone/fully consumed, so too the progression of the kingdom/Life does not stop until God - who is life - is all in all. Like widening ripples of a pond until reaching full pond ripple, full world. All within and without, collectively and individually, and both spiritually and literally. Truth will stand, all untruth will fall and fade away. “Where sin/hamartia/missing the mark abounded, grace abounded much more.” And.. God doesn’t have to beat us (with many stripes). We beat ourselves.. Maybe(?) he’ll beat the despots.. sex traffickers of children, etc. etc. …And bring them to gut wrenching remorse.. Can you imagine?๐Ÿ˜ณ

1 - Therefore, since we are compassed about by such a great cloud of witnesses (collectively and generally speaking, angels, and by all during judgment ‘day’ surely? a great ‘day’ of review of all history) let us throw off every encumbrance and the sin [hamartia - missing the mark] (imperfection) that so easily entangles, and let us run with endurance the race set out/marked out, for us. 2 Keeping our eyes on Jesus, the originator [archรฉgos - from arxแธ— - the first, and รกgล - to lead – properly, the first in a long procession, who pioneers the way for many others to follow, originator or founder of a movement and continues as the leader] and perfecter [teleiรณtรฉs - a completer, consummator, bringing a process to its finish, finisher] of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and now has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

1 - Then I (John) saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven, wrapped in a cloud, with a rainbow above his head. His face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire. 2 He was holding a little scroll, which lay open in his hand. He planted his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, 3 and gave a great shout like the roar of a lion! And when he shouted, the seven thunders answered. 4 When the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write. But I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Seal up what the seven thunders said, and do not write it down.” 5 Then the angel I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand toward heaven. 6 He swore an oath in the name of the one who lives forever and ever, who created the heavens and everything in them, the earth and everything in it, and the sea and everything in it, and said, “There will be no more delay! 7 When the seventh angel is about to blow his trumpet, God’s mysterious plan will be fulfilled just as proclaimed by his servants the prophets.”

           Luke 7:36-50

36 When one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, he went to the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table. 37 And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus was there, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, 38 and standing behind him at his feet, weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears and wiped them with her long hair. And repeatedly kissed his feet and anointed them with the ointment.

39 When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know what sort of woman is touching him! For she is a sinner.”

40 And Jesus answering his thoughts said to him, “Simon, I have somewhat to say to you.” And he said, “Master, say on”. 41 “Two people owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. 42 Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he forgave the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?” 43 Simon answered, “I suppose the one one who owed him the most”. 44 Then he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You didn’t give me any water for my feet” (a courtesy of the day, for going around on foot got hot and dusty) “but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. 45 You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. 46 You did not put oil on my head” (kings were anointed this way) “but she has poured aromatic oil on my feet. 47 I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven, which her great love shows. But who is forgiven little, loves little.” (But with God all things are possible! We will all be fuLL of God’s love. ๐Ÿค”Once again, this is speaking inside this cosmic drama. If we’re forgiven little or consider it that way, we may very well love Jesus less during this lifetime.) 48 Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”

49 The other guests began to say among themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?” 50 And Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you, go in peace.”

(And by faith) 34 they put out raging fires! And escaped from the swords of their enemies! Although they were weak, they were given the strength and power to chase foreign armies away! 35 Women received their loved ones back again from death. But others were beaten, refusing to turn from God and be set free, so they would gain the better resurrection. 36 Some faced jeers and flogging. Or even chains and imprisonment. 37 They were put to death by stoning, sawn in two, killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated— 38 the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, and hid in caves and holes in the ground. 39 These were all commended for their faith, yet they did not receive what was promised. 40 Since God has planned something better! So that only together with us would they be made perfect.

24 After John’s messengers left, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about him, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? Was it a reed swayed by the wind? 25 A man dressed in fine clothes? People who wear expensive clothes and live in luxury are in the king's palace. 26 Were you looking for a prophet? Yes, and he is more than a prophet. 27 This is he of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before you, who will prepare the way for you. 28 I tell you, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John. Yet even the least person in the Kingdom of God is greater than he is. 29 All the people, including tax collectors! heard John. They admitted God was right, evidenced by letting John baptize them. 30 But! The Pharisees and experts in religious law rejected God’s plan for them, refusing John’s baptism. 31 To what, then, can I compare the people of this generation? What are they like? 32 They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to each other, ‘We played the pipe for you! And you didn’t dance! We sang a dirge, and you didn’t cry.’ 33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon!’ 34 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard! A friend of tax collectors and sinners!’” 35 (And looking out over the people, he said)  “But justified is wisdom! 22 By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the departure [exodus] of the children of Israel from Egypt. So he told them to take his bones with them. 23 It was by faith that Moses’ parents hid him for three months when he was born. They saw that God had given them an unusual child, and they were not afraid to disobey the king’s command. 24 It was by faith that Moses, when he grew up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. 25 He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of Egypt. 26 He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. 27 It was by faith that Moses left the land of Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger. He kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible. [Another version - “because he saw He who is invisible”.] 28 By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest the destroying of the firstborn should touch them. 29 By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land, but when the Egyptians tried to pursue, they were all drowned. 30 It was by faith that the people of Israel marched around Jericho for seven days, and the walls came crashing down. 31 By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient. 32 How much more do I need to say? It would take too long to recount the stories of the faith of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and all the prophets. 33 By faith these people overthrew kingdoms! Ruled with justice, and received what God had promised them. They shut the mouths of lions!

Stephen continues speaking: 17 “Finally, the time came for God to do what he had promised Abraham. By then the number of our people in Egypt had greatly increased. 18 But then a new king came to the throne of Egypt, one who didn’t know Joseph, 19 and he dealt treacherously with our people. He oppressed our ancestors by forcing them to throw their newborn babies out into the fields so they would die.

20 It was at that time Moses was born, and he was no ordinary child. For three months he was cared for by his family. 21 When they had to abandon him and placed him outside, Pharaoh’s daughter adopted him and raised him as her own son. 22 Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was powerful in speech and action. 23 And when he was forty years old, he decided to visit his own people, the Israelites. 24 Seeing one of them being abused, he defended the oppressed man, avenging him by striking down the Egyptian. 25 Moses assumed his fellow Israelites would realize that God had sent him to rescue them, but they didn’t. 26 The next day, Moses came upon two Israelites who were fighting. He tried to reconcile them by saying, ‘Men, you are brothers, why do you want to hurt each other?’ 27 But the man who was mistreating the other, pushed Moses aside and said, ‘Who made you ruler and judge over us? 28 Are you going to kill me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?’ 29 When Moses heard that, he fled the country and lived as a foreigner in the land of Midian. There his two sons were born. 30 Forty years later, in the desert near Mount Sinai, an angel appeared to Moses in the flame of a burning bush. 31 When Moses saw it, he was amazed at the sight. As he went to take a closer look, the voice of the LORD called out to him, 32 ‘I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.’ Moses trembled with fear and did not dare to look. 33 Then the Lord said to him, ‘Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground. 34 I've seen how my people are mistreated in Egypt. I've heard their groaning and have come to rescue them. So now I'm sending you to Egypt.' 35 So God sent back the same man his people had previously rejected when they demanded, ‘Who made you a ruler and judge over us?’ Through the angel who appeared to him in the burning bush, God sent Moses to be their ruler and savior. 36 And by means of many wonders and miraculous signs, he led them out of Egypt, through the Red Sea, and through the wilderness for forty years. 37 This is the Moses who said to the Israelites, ‘God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers.’” (If the Lord was crucified in 30 A.D./C.E. fiery judgment/burning bush came 40 years later - just thinking out loud. ‘Smaller’ pond ripple/fulfillment.. full pond ripple pending..? “No one knows the when except the Father”. Hosea 6:2?)

     Very Brief Outline of Acts:

Jesus returns to where he was with the Father before his advent/visit (his brief first one).

The Holy Spirit/Presence of God is poured out on the believers who were in Jerusalem on the late Spring holy day of Pentecost. Peter speaks, there are 3000 new believers that day.

The good news message spreads, Peter is invited and goes to a Roman’s house and all believe. The first record of non Hebrew believers (besides likely some on Pentecost).

Persecution breaks out.. jail. stoning. Pharisee Saul leads the persecution, but on his way to Damascus with papers for arrests, Jesus makes himself seen but is so bright Paul falls to the ground and is blinded. After two days he is healed and is a believer, and soon is called Paul. He wrote many (to most) of the New Testament letters, but spent a few years (it seems to me) exclusively listening to the Lord. He established many ‘churches’ in what’s called three missionary journeys, and met and worked with Mark and Luke, and quite a few others. (Luke wrote this Book of Acts.) His fourth journey is to Rome to trial as a prisoner. There’s a shipwreck on the way.. He wrote many of his letters while in prison and under ‘house’ arrest.

11 - Soon afterward Jesus went with his disciples to the village of Nain, and a large crowd followed him. 12 A funeral procession was coming out as he approached the village gate. The young man who had died was a widow’s only son, and a large crowd from the village was with her. 13 When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don’t cry.” 14 Then he walked over to the bier and touched it, and the bearers stopped. “Young man,” he said, “I tell you, get up.” 15 He then sat up and began to speak. Jesus then gave him back to his mother. 16 Great fear swept the crowd, and they praised God, “A great prophet has appeared among us,” they said. “God has come to help his people.” 17 And the news about Jesus spread throughout Judea (as opposed to Galilee) and the surrounding countryside. 18 The disciples of John the Baptist told John about everything Jesus was doing. So John called for two of his disciples, 19 and sent them to the Lord to ask him, “Are you the Messiah we’ve been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?”

20 When they came to Jesus, they said, "John the Baptist sent us to ask if you are the one he said was going to come, or should we expect someone else?" 21 At the time Jesus was healing many people of their diseases, afflictions, and evil spirits, and giving sight to many who were blind. 22 Answering he said, "Go and tell John what you have seen and heard, the blind can see, the lame can walk, those who suffer from dreaded skin diseases are made clean, the deaf can hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is preached to the poor. 23 God will bless everyone who doesn't take offense (and doubt?) at what I do."

He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, 18 even though God had said to him, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” 19 He considered that God was able even to raise him from the dead, from which, figuratively speaking, he did receive him back. (A test for Abraham and an example to us of receiving back from the dead. Ultimately true of all, a universal/collective example.) 20 It was by faith that Isaac promised blessings for the future to his sons, Jacob and Esau. 21 By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of Joseph’s sons, and he worshiped as he leaned on the top of his staff.

           Luke 7:1-10

1 - When Jesus had finished saying all this to the people who were listening, he went to Capernaum. 2 In that town an army officer's servant was sick and about to die. And the officer liked his servant very much. 3 When the officer heard about Jesus, he sent some respected Jewish elders to ask him to come and heal his servant. 4 So they earnestly asked Jesus to help the man. “If anyone deserves your help, he does,” they said, 5 because he loves our nation and even built a synagogue for us.” 6 So Jesus went with them. He was not far from the house when the centurion sent friends to say to him: “Lord, don’t trouble yourself, for I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. 7 And I am certainly not worthy to come to you. Just say the word, and my servant will get well. 8 I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, ‘Go,’ and they go, or ‘Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my servants, ‘Do this,’ they do it.” 9 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in all Israel.” 10 And when the officer’s friends returned to his house, they found the servant completely well.

           ~ Hebrews 11:14-16 ~

14 Those who say such things make it apparent that they are looking for a homeland of their own. 15 If they had longed for the country they came from, they could have gone back. 16  Instead, they were longing for a better one—a of/from heaven homeland. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, and he has indeed prepared a city for them.
