09-15 - LUKE 12:1-12

a paraphrased ‘enter the story’

    πŸ•Š️reading & study πŸ•Š️

1 - Meanwhile, so many had gathered, they were trampling one another, he began, first, to say to his disciples, “Beware the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy [hypokrisαΈ—s - literally - acting under a mask]. 2 Nothing is covered up that won’t be revealed, or hidden that won’t be known. 3 Therefore whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms will be as proclaimed from rooftops. 4 I tell you, my friends, don’t fear those who kill the body, (leaders) and after that have nothing more they can do. 5 But I will warn you whom to fear (you pharisees) fear he who, after the destruction/ruin, has authority to cast into Gehenna [from gay - valley, and Hinnom - Gehenna] {armageddon, first one was coming in 70 CE}. Yes, I tell you, fear him! {Evildoers!] 6 BecauSe, are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not oNe of them is forgotten before God! 7 Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not!! You are of more value than many sparrows.

    8 And I tell you, everyone who acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will acknowledge before the angels of God, 9 but the one who denies me before men, will be denied before the angels of God. (Does noT say ‘forever and ever’.) 10 And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the one blaspheming against the Holy Spirit(/Presence) of God is not forgiven. {How can they be while hating God enough to virulently insult him?} 11 Then when they bring you before the councils, the rulers and authorities, don’t be anxious about how you should defend yourself or what you should say, 12 for the Holy Spirit(/Presence of God) will guide you in that very hour what you should say.”

      πŸ•Š️reading & study πŸ•Š️

1 - Come now, you rich, weep and wail over the miseries coming upon you 2 for your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten. 3 Your gold and silver corrodes, and is a testimony against you, consuming away your flesh (nature/self first carnal nature and the entropy) liKe fire you have stored up for the last age. {GWT judgment/discernment/closure ‘day’, second half of an “8th day”/millennium - see Rev.20, which is written like portraying the cresting of waves, but not much of the in between. Note: it was a biG bang inTo the universe as is, then, was set in motion.. to run 8 days/millenniums, first 6, things are running course. Pre-flood was hands off, even cannibalism? Leniency is not virtuous. Life without safety is not justice.} 4 Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you! {Injustice cries a voice God hears, like the blood of Abel and all martyrs ..In Rev.6, the fifth seal/element of the times, the martyrs are not prisoners held “under the altar” for millennia, while their blood cries out to God.} The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the LORD of hosts! 5 You have lived on the earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts in the ‘day’ of butchery{/entropy}. 6 You have condemned and murdered the righteous person, who doesn’t (even) resist you. {But will reap what you sow.. Your deeds will return on your own heads - Obadiah 1:15. You will fall into the hole you dig (for others) - Proverbs 26:27.}

     7 Be patient, therefore, brothers and sisters, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient, until the earth receives the early aNd the late rains. (Harvests, 1Cor.15:22-24,28 w/ Mt.13:33, key word 3 ..harvests). 8 You also, be patient. Strengthen your hearts. For the coming of the Lord draws near. {For us all, it’s always near.. life as we presently know it, this imperfection/entropy is brief. Then the resting “in the tomb” Jn.5:28, next thing known, vivification - the “putting on of perfection/immortality” which is part of and simultaneous with the “1st” resurrection. Whereas the (totally implied) 2nd resurrection begins GWT Judgment ‘Day’ and its partner vivification closes it. Second resurrection is “into aionion kolasis” mt.25:46 / eonian korrection / ‘day’ of correction. His long second advent - of TWO millennia - is outlined in the ancient Fall Holy Days of Lev.23, like his first so brief one was so perfectly portrayed by the Spring ones. (1Cor.15:24-28!)}

Revelation - 8:1-6

               a paraphrased study

1 - Now when the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. {A turning point, turning of a page (a note from 2024’s reading/study).}

     2 And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and they were given seven trumpets. {Same angels as the angels of the seven churches?} 3 Another angel came, and stood at the altar having a golden censer. Then much incense was given to him. Incense, to offer with the prayers of all the saints upon the gold altar that is before the throne.

     4 And the smoke of the incense, mingled with the prayers of the saints [believers/followers] rose up before God. {Still in the pause - long to us - between the first seal 6 event and the next one (leaving 5 at ‘the end’/culmination, Is.24:20/Rev.10:4).}

     5 Then the angel took the censer, and he filled it with fire from the altar and he threw it upon the earth! And there were *peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake**! 6 And now the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared theirselves to blow their trumpets. [The 7th seal is the seven trumpets.]

     {**#2 of 7? #1 was the 1st of 6:12-17. Chapter 6 is the elements of the times described as their full effects, first to very last, and blended into a sort of swirl, especially seal 6. The full descriptions (first to very last) of the elements of the times, given at the BEGINNING of the vision, veils much of the vision.}

09-14 - LUKE 11:37-54

a paraphrased ‘enter the story’

    πŸ•Š️reading & study πŸ•Š️

37 - While Jesus was still speaking, a Pharisee invited him to dine with him at his house, so he went in and reclined at table. 38 The Pharisee was surprised to see that he didn’t wash before the meal. (A Pharisee tradition of ritual washing.) 39 So Jesus said to him, “You Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and dish. Yet inside there is greed and wickedness. 40 But didn’t he who made the outside, also make the inside? 41 If you give from within, then the outside is clean as well. 42 But woe to you Pharisees, for you tithe mint and rue and every herb. But you neglect justice and the love of God. But these you ought to do, without neglecting the rest.

     43 Woe to you Pharisees, for you love the best seats in the meeting places and greetings in the marketplace. 44 Woe to you, for you’re like unmarked graves, which people walk over, without knowing.”

     45 One of the scribes (lawyers) answered him, “Teacher, in saying these things you are insulting us also.” 46 But he said, “Woe to you lawyers, for you load people with burdens hard to bear, that you wouldn’t lift even a finger to bear.. 47 Woe to you, for you build the tombs of the prophets, which your fathers killed. 48 So you are witnesses and you show yourself as consenting to those killings, and so you build their tombs. 49 As the wisdom of God has said, ‘I will send prophets and apostles. Some of whom they will persecute and some of whom they will kill.’ 50 And so the blood of all the prophets, shed from the foundation of the world, will be held against this generation {πŸ€” held against by whom.. I know the world plays the blame game against Hebrews/Jews more than anyone else.. yet masculinity is under attack. In barbarism’s days of “the gods” rule/sway, Israel had to be warriors. But, alas, turned away from God and the old ‘gods’ returned (returned with seven worse spirits..) The world dislikes the west for jumping ahead, when empowered by Judeo-Christian ethics and principles, aka, rules for success and blessing, and blessed with more of God’s Spirit/Presence than nations still under other sway.} 51 Yes, I tell you, required of this generation, from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary. {Don’t be misled? The ancient ‘gods’ were very cruel. Every city had their war god.. To be passive would be annihilation.}

     52 Woe to you scribes, you’ve taken away the key to knowledge. {The accurate message, having highjacked.} You don’t enter, and you block the way of those who are entering.”

     53 And as he was leaving, the scribes and Pharisees began to pressure him, provoking him to speak about many things, 54 for they were trying to catch him in his words.

     But who are you? Who are you to pass judgement upon your neighbor/fellow person? (That ‘other’..}

     13 And you who say, “Today or tomorrow we’ll go to such and such a city, spend a year, trade, make a profit”— 14 yet you don’t know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? You’re a mist that appears for a short time and then fades away! 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” 16 As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting isn’t good!

     17 So whoever knows the right to do and fails to do it, for them it’s sin [hamartia - missing the mark]. {To know right, but choose differently is a missing of the mark🎯. We’re a work in progress, but need to be in the right progression? Otherwise, why bother!?}

(As some were saying he was casting out demons by the ruler of demons, others were asking him for a sign, and) 29 - As the crowd of people was increasing, Jesus said, “This generation is a troublesome generation. {I think ultimately it includes humanity as a whole? As it’s strayed from truth/logic, so is imperfect (and entropic, unavoidable as God is Life, surely? And “is perfect” mt.5:48).}

     It {this generation/humanity strayed from truth, life} seeks for a sign, but there will be no sign but the sign of Jonah. 30 Just as Jonah became a sign to the people of Nineveh, so will the Son of man be to this generation. 31 The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment, with the men of this generation and give judgment against them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and look, something greater than Solomon is here. 32 And the men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and give judgment, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and look, something greater than Jonah is here.

     33 “No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a bowl, but they put it on a lampstand or table, so those who enter may see by its light. 34 Your eye is the lamp of your body, and if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye not good, you will be full of darkness. 35 Therefore be careful, lest the light that’s in you is actually darkness, and not light. 36 And if you are full of light, having no darkness, it will be wholly bright, as when a lamp with its - radiance - gives light.”

Clean up your lives, you sinners! [Harmatoi - we missing the mark.] Purify your hearts, you people who can't make up your mind! 9 Grieve, mourn, and weep! Turn your laughter to mourning, and your joy to gloom! {Heartfelt remorse for any evils done and even flaws.      11 Don’T speak evil against one another, brethren/brothers and sisters! {Groups to groups..? moderately left and moderately right, hell believers and hell not believers.. on and on?}

14 - Jesus healed a man who was mute by casting out a demon, and when the man spoke, the people marveled. 15 But some said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of demons!” {..Spirit (trend) of accusation, and who is “the accuser?}

     16 Even while others, trying to test him, kept asking him for a sign from heaven. 17 But he knew what they were thinking, so he said to them, “Every kingdom/empire/nation/house which is divided against itself will be laid waste. For a divided household {and nation, etc.} falls. 18 So if Satan is divided against himself, how will his kingdom continue? 19 If I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges {discerning about you ones}. 20 But if it’s by the finger of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come among you.

     21 If a strong man {of the household/nation} is fully armed, and is guarded well, the house is safe. 22 But if one stronger than he attacks, and is able to conquer him, his armor in which he trusted is carried away, and his house becomes spoils to be divided among the conquerors. 23 Whoever is not with me is {easily} against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.

     24 “When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person {or world/age} it passes through desert places looking for somewhere to settle, and finding none it says, ‘I’ll return to the house where I was.’ 25 And when it comes, it finds the house swept and put in order. 26 Then it goes and gathers seven other spirits more evil than itself! And they enter and make theirselves at home there.

     And the last state is worse than the first.” {The vessel needs to be full ..of God’s Spirit/Presence. ..Barbarism cAn return.}

     27 As he said these things, a woman in the crowd yelled out, “Blessed is the womb that bore you! And the bosom at which you nursed!” 28 But he said, “Rather [menounge - rather, on the contrary] blessed are those who hear the word [logos - reasoning expressed in words] of God and keep it.”

 πŸŒ΄πŸ‘

Verse 1:1 sent me running to a list of commentaries, lol. So I read a few.. And they, plus I’ve read Amos before, have given me the impression Amos, as a prophet (heard from God) was saying the world, of his day, and I figure every day, is very messed up, and sure to be calamitous, but God’s message, and paradise, will reach all the ends of Earth and then rule forever.

And let us not be led into temptation.’”

     5 He also said, “Which of you if you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves! 6 For a friend has arrived on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him’. 7 And he will answer from his house, ‘Don’t bother me! The door is shut, and my children are with me in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ 8 I tell you, though he won’t get up, because you’re his friend. But because of your insistence, he will rise and give to you whatever you need. 9 And so I tell you, ask, and it’ll be given to you. Seek, and you’ll find. Knock, and it’ll be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, it will be opened. 11 What parent among you, if your child asks for a fish, will instead give them a serpent? 12 Or if they ask for an egg, will give them a scorpion? 13 If you then, who are evil [ponΓ©ros - toilsome, bad] (a hamartian - imperfect) know how to give good gifts to your children - how much more - will the heavenly Father give his Holy Spirit{/Presence} to those who ask him!”

   09/10 - GospeL Verses

29 - But the lawyer/scribe, seeking to justify himself, said to Jesus, “Who is my neighbor?” (As in “love thy neighbor”/fellow person.) 30 Jesus answered him with a parable, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and was fallen upon by a band of thieves. They robbed him, even of his clothing, and they beat him and then they left him for dead. 31 A little later, by chance, a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. 32 And likewise a Levite (administrative public servant) when he came to the place and saw him, he too passed by on the other side. 33 But a (looked down upon by ‘polite’ society) Samaritan, as he journeyed, came by, and when he saw him, he was concerned. 34 So he went to him. And he bound up his wounds, cleansing them with oil and wine. Then he set him upon his own animal and brought him to an inn. And there he further cared and provided for him. 35 Then the next day before continuing on his way, he gave the innkeeper two denarii, saying, ‘Take care of him, and if you spend more, I will repay you when I come back.’

     36 Which of these three, do you think, was a neighbor to the man who fell among thieves?” 37 The scribe said, “The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said, “Go and do likewise.”

     38 Now as they walked on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. 39 She had a sister Mary, who was sitting at the Lord's feet listening to his teaching. 40 But Martha was busy with much serving. And she came to Jesus and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving? Tell her to help me.” 41 But the Lord answered, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, 42 but one thing is necessary. And Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be denied her.”

7 - Every kind of beast and bird, reptile and sea creature, can be tamed! And has been tamed. 8 But no one can tame the human tongue! {And today the typing finger.} It’s a restless evil. Full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our Lord and Father. And with it we curse people. People who are made in the likeness of God. 10 From the same mouth {and typing finger} comes blessing and cursing. My brethren/brothers and sisters, this ought not to be! 11 Does a spring of water gush forth both fresh, living water, and salt water as well? 12 Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a salt pond (snarkiness or worse) yield fresh (life giving) waters.

   09/09 - GospeL Verses

21 - At that same hour (when the seventy-two returned, excited over their journey) he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, “I thank you, Father! Lord of heaven and earth! That you have hidden these things from the learned and {those the world considers} wise, and have revealed them as to little children. Yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. 22 All [pas - all, every, the whole] has been given to me by my Father. And no one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is, except the Son, and those who the Son chooses to reveal him to.” {Father and Son are so close, both administer God’s Spirit/Presence, the same as will “seal” and saturate all creation and humanity.}

     23 Then he turned to the disciples and said, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see! 24 For I tell you many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and didn’t. And to hear what you hear, and didn’t hear it.”

     25 And then a lawyer stood up to test him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit the enduring life?” 26 Jesus said, “What’s written in the Law? How do you read it?” 27 And the lawyer (scribe) answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”

     28 And Jesus said to him, “You’ve answered right! Do this, and you shall live.” {But we have to do it perfectly. Or accept “Christ Crucified” as our pardon, and our declared innocent verdict. The judge needing to be appeased? Our own psyche and conscience.}

ACTS 5 1-16

 Universalism in the New Testament

       BooK of Acts of the First Believers

                                  (Paraphrased)

{Lest we cringe, or panic, over this next, we should consider that one’s being gone (hades-not seen, state of being gone, until resurrection) from this present life and age, is not the same from God’s view as ours. It’s more like being transplanted into a not yet tilled garden, awaiting resurrection into “aionion kolasis” / eonian korrection / age of correction. See Fall holy days of Leviticus 23, the Spring ones having been fulfilled perfectly by Jesus’ so brief first advent.}

     1 - But a certain man, Ananias and his wife Sapphira, sold a property, 2 and decided to keep back some of the price, and tell the apostles a false price. 3 But Peter said, “Ananias, why did the adversary fill your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit? 4 It was your property, you could do with it as you wished, and after you sold it, the price was yours to do with as you might want. So why did you purpose in your heart to lie, not to us, but to God?” 5 After hearing this, suddenly Ananias fell down dead, and great fear came upon all who heard about it. 6 Some of the younger men came and wrapped him in burial cloths and carried him out.

     7 About three hours later, his wife came in, not knowing what had happened, 8 and Peter asked her if such and such was the price for their piece of land, and she answered it was. 9 Then Peter said, “I can’t believe your husband and you thought to tempt the Spirit of the LORD God.” {Psuedo.. playacting? A sort of sorcery! Like deliberately misleading with words is surely a sort of sorcery.. Used to inspire riots and wars.}

     Peter continued, “Look. those who buried your husband have just returned ..and will carry you out as well.” 10 And sure enough she fell down right then and the men did as they had for Ananias, and buried her by him.

     11 The Jerusalem believers became very sober minded after that! And fear came upon all who heard of it (vs.13). 12 Meanwhile, many healings and wonders were happening through the apostles. And the believers were of one mind, united in purpose, and were meeting in the temple’s porch of Solomon daily. 13 And no one dared join them except the truly believing, though they were respected and regarded as friendly by the people.

     14 Many more, both men and women, were becoming believers. 15 And the people would bring the ailing where they could upon mats and couches, hoping for Peter to come along. For it was said even his shadow would bring healing. 16 People were also coming in from regions and cities outside of Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those harassed by unclean spirits, and all were healed. (I think it will be like this, only greater, after the “second resurrection” during GWT judgment ‘day’ (aion, Jn.7:37; in Mt.25:46 called - “kolasin aionion” / korrection eonian] / an age oF correction, noT ‘eternal/neverending punishment’ which of course defies aLL logic-root word logos - This “his long second advent” idea was here in last year’s lesson, bread from heaven, and has been steadily built and expounded upon since it first came to mind - one way of telling if an idea we think is scriptural is actually accurate or not?)

09/09 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

(About the human tongue) 3 - We put a bit in the mouth of a horse, in order to direct the path the horse takes. 4 And look at ships. Though they’re very large and are driven about by strong, blowing winds, they’re steered and guided by a very small rudder. {And words begin in the mind, which begins in the heart - one reason the kingdom for us, begins within. Good news! We can give our heart to God, master heart surgeon.}

     5 So also the human tongue is a small part of the body. Yet it boasts great things! And see how a tiny flame can set a great forest on fire! 6 And so it is with the tongue. It’s a fire. A world of trouble. [“Anyone who doesn’t err in what they say is mature and full grown..” Ja.3:2.]

     And so the tongue can corrupt the entire body, setting on fire the course of one’s life and days. It’s a fire which spark is from hell. {I think this last has at least two meanings.. And then likely we’d argue over which is right, haha! A tongue that causes trouble, division.. misleading rhetoric.. mobs.. Which leaders did against Jesus and later against Paul and friends, and the Lord’s other disciples and followers. Until ultimately man is at the armageddon fiery blaze (come about by division - accusation, name calling - Gal.5:20). Using words to set a blaze going.. is sorcery! But also, do you know someone, a friend or family member who has developed an habitual, terribly sharp tongue? Perhaps it proceeds from a deep, dark misery they are going through. Pray for them to be healed of deep unhappiness?}

   09/08 - GospeL Verses

13 - “Woe to you, Chorazin.. Woe to you, Bethsaida..” Jesus said, “For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have turned long ago, and sat in sackcloth and ashes. 14 But it will be more bearable” [anektoteros - more tolerable, from anΓ©xomai - ana - up, completing a process, and exō - to have] {will be better during completion of the process} “for Tyre and Sidon than it will be for you in [en - in, on, at, by, with, among, within] the judgment.

     15 And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven..? You shall be brought down to Hades [hadΓ©s - from “A” - not, and idein/eidō - see; not seen] {gone, state of gone.. pre the Greek myth}.

     16 The one who hears [akouΓ³ - hears, listens, comprehends by hearing] you, hears me, and the one who rejects [atheteΓ³ - sets aside, does away with] you, sets aside me, and the one who sets aside me, sets aside he who sent me.”

     17 And when the seventy-two returned, with joy, they said, “Lord! In your name, even the demons are subject to us!!” 18 And Jesus said, “I beheld Satan [satanas - adversary] {first gone rogue one} as lightning fall from heaven. 19 And see, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy [exthrΓ³s - hostility, and deep rooted hatred, resolved to inflict harm]. And nothing shall harm you.

     20 Nevertheless, don’t rejoice because the spirits are subject to you, rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

1 - After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into all the towns where he was about to go. 2 And he told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers few. Pray heartily to the Lord of the harvest that he will send laborers into his harvest. 3 Go your way, but know I’m sending you out as lambs, into the midst of wolves. 4 Don’t take a moneybag, or knapsack. No extra sandals, and don’t greet anyone on the way. 5 Whatever house you enter say, ‘Peace be to this house!’ 6 And if a person of peace is there, your peace will rest upon it. But if not, it will return to you. 7 Remain in that same house, eating and drinking what they set before you, for the laborer deserves their wages. Don’t go from house to house. 8 And whenever you enter a town and they receive you, eat what they provide. 9 Heal the sick, and tell them the kingdom of God has drawn near to them.

     10 But whenever you enter a town and they don’t receive you, go into the streets and say, 11 ‘Even the dust of your town clinging to our feet, we shake off. But know this, the kingdom of God drew near to you.’ 12 I tell you, it will be more tolerable [anΓ©xomai - from ana - up, completing a process, and exō - to have] {will be better during completion of the process} for Sodom on that {great/GWT) ‘day’ than it will be for that city.”

09/07 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

17 - The thing is, faith alone, if it doesn’t have works (effects, results) is dead [nekros - dead, deceased, lacking life, from nekus - a corpse]. {The Way (following) has wide boggy ditches on either side (right and left). The two L’s — Legalism, do’s & don’ts focused upon, rather than abiding in the Logos, both personified and written; and License with Leniency which is simply more of this imperfection/entropy -> nekros.}

     18 What if someone says to me, “You have faith and I have works.” Then I will say, show me your faith apart from your works (changes, effects, doings, faithfulness and deeds) and I’ll show you the evidence of my faith, by my works (changes, effects, doings, faithfulness, deeds, behavior). 19 You believe in the one God, all well and good. But even the demons believe, and shudder! 20 Do you want proof, oh misled one, that faith apart from works is useless [argos - idle, lazy, inactive, barren, slow]? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered his son Isaac? {He passed the test/was tempered.} 22 You see that faith was alive thus active [sunergeΓ³ - root of synergy - working together with; cooperates, assists] along with his works. And so, faith was completed by works. 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness” and God called him his friend.

     24 So you see how a person is justified by works and not by faith alone? {Genuinely hearing and believing the Lord’s words, is to be a “doer of them” aka, a “follower”. Why would we delay? As teachers, a woe is associated with misleading.} 25 And in the same way was not also Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? {Because she believed their message and chose their side.} 26 For as the body apart from the spirit{/presence of Life} is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead. {Fruit, effect. Faith, believing, knowing, occurs in the heart, and works its way outward. As a seed that actually sprouts, grows, and bears bud, flower and fruit. Needs ‘food’ and watering, 🍞🍷.}

MARK 10 35-45

   09/06 - GospeL Verses

35 - James and John, the sons of Zebedee said to Jesus, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you.” [Zebedee was a fisherman by trade, whom they, and Peter and Andrew worked for. James and John, sons of him, were referred to by Jesus as “sons of thunder”. Mathew, who was a disciple, wrote “the mother of the sons of Zebedee came up to him with her sons and she asked.. Mk.20:20. Mark was a scribe and when a young man, a sort of secretary for Paul and others. His gospel/news account may be the first one written of the four, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.]

     36 Jesus asked them, “What do you want me to do for you?” 37 And they said, “Grant us to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, at your glory.” 38 But Jesus answered, “You don’t know what you’re asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I will? Or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am about to be baptized?” 39 And they said, “Yes, we’re able.” And Jesus answered, “The cup I drink you indeed will drink, and with the baptism with which I am baptized, you too will be baptized, 40 but to sit at my right or at my left is not mine to give, but is prepared for those prepared for/of it.” 41 And when the ten heard it, they were a little indignant at James and John. 42 But Jesus called them to him and said, “You know that those who are considered rulers of the Gentiles/nations, lord it over them, and their ‘great’ ones exercise authority over them. 43 But it shouldn’t be so among you. For whoever would be great among you should be as a servant. 44 And whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

     {God was against Israel having any king but Him - as King of the universe - greek - kosmos. And Jesus, with him, is king of humanity.}
