  GospeL Verses ~ John 1:35-51

35 - The next day while John was standing with two of his disciples, 36 he saw Jesus as he walked by and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God.” 37 The two disciples heard him, so they left and followed Jesus. 38 Jesus turned and saw them following him and said, “What are you seeking?” “Rabbi” they said,  which means teacher, “where are you staying?” 39 He said, “Come and see.” So they went with him and they stayed that day, for it was about the tenth hour. 40 One of these two was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. 41 So Andrew went and found his brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah!” Which means Christ. 42 And he brought him to Jesus. Jesus, looking close at him, said, “You are Simon the son of John. You shall be called Cephas” which means Peter.

43 The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee and he found Philip and said to him, “Follow me.” 44 Philip was from Bethsaida, the same as Andrew and Peter. 45 Philip went in search of Nathanael and said to him, “We have found him, which Moses and the prophets wrote about, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” 46 But Nathanael said, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Then Philip said, “Come and see.” 47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom there’s no deceit.” 48 Hearing that Nathanael said, “How do you know me?” Jesus answered, “Before Philip found you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” 49 Nathanael answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!” 50 Jesus answered saying, “Because I told you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ you believe? You will see greater things than that. 51 Truly you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending to the Son of Man.”

From New Testament Letters

     (In the Order Believed Written)

                    ~ 2 Corinthians 9:7-15

7 - Each should give only as they purpose in their own heart, not as an obligation or from regret. What God loves is a cheerful (happy!) giver. 8 He is able [dunateó - able, powerful] to cause all grace to abound toward you, so having good sufficiency in all things and at all times, you may be able to abound in much good work. 9 As it’s written - he scatters blessings, he gives to the poor. His righteousness [dikaiosuné - righteousness, justice] abides [menó - stays, abides, remains] to the age. 10 He who supplies seed for the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the fruit of your righteousness [dikaiosuné - righteousness, justice]. 11 In every way enriching you, to all generosity [haplotés - not complex, from “A” - not, and pel - fold - not folded ..single threaded, “unworldly simplicity” - J.Thayer]. This produces thankfulness toward God. 12 For the ministry [diakonia - active service, volunteering] will not only supply the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in thanksgiving by many to God. 13 This service will bring honor and praise to God, this good fruit of your faith shows just how genuine it is. 14 It also makes for the tie that binds, as they pray for you and you for them. 15 Thanks be to God for his surpassing and inexpressible gift!
