GospeL Verses ~ Matthew 4:18-23

18 - While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw the two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen by trade. 19 And he said to them, “Come and follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 And immediately they left their nets, and followed him. 21 And going on from there he saw the two other brothers, James and John, the sons of Zebedee, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called to them. 22 And immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him. 23 Then he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the news of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people.

From New Testament Letters

     (In the Order Believed Written)

                  ~ 2 Corinthians 12:13-21

13 - For how were you less favored than the rest of the churches, except that I myself did not burden you? Forgive me this wrong! 14 Here for the third time I’m ready to come to you. And not as a burden, for I seek not what is yours, but you. For children are not obligated to save up for their parents, but parents for their children. 15 I will most gladly spend and be spent for your benefit. If I love you more than others, am I to be loved less? 16 But granting that I myself did not burden you, I was crafty, you say, and got the better of you by deception. 17 Did I take advantage of you through anyone I sent to you? 18 I urged Titus to go, and sent the brother with him. Did Titus take advantage of you? Did we not act in the same spirit? Did we two not march to the same steps? 19 Have you been thinking all along that we have been defending [apologeomai - to reason from solid proof and sound logic, compellingly defend] ourselves to you? It is in the sight of God that we have been speaking in Christ, and all for your upbuilding, beloved. 20 For I fear that perhaps when I come I may find you not as I wish, and that you may find me not as you wish. Perhaps I will find quarreling, jealousy, anger, hostility, slander, gossip, conceit, and disorder. 21 I am afraid lest I come again and my God may humble me before you, that I may have to mourn over those who sinned earlier and have not repented of the impurity, sexual immorality, and sensuality that they have practiced.

(Because with such “the way” will not work, but will lack benefit and POWER. Jesus said “follow” and the Spirit/Presence of God enables us to do so.)
