GospeL Verses ~ Matthew 8:18-27

18 - Seeing a great crowd around him, Jesus decided to cross to the other side of the lake. 19 Soon a teacher of the law came to him and said, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.” 20 Jesus said to him, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man hasn’t a place to lay his head.” 21 Another disciple said, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”

22 But Jesus said, “Follow me, and let the dead bury the dead.”

23 Then he got into the boat and his (twelve) disciples with him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” 26 But he answered, “Oh you of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and the waves, and it became completely calm. 27 And the disciples were amazed and said, “Who is this? That even the wind and the waves obey him.”

From New Testament Letters

     (In the Order Believed Written)

                   ~ Romans 4:1-8 ~

1 - What then shall we say was gained by Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh? (According to the natural.) 2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about! But not before God. 3 But what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accredited to him as righteousness.” 4 Now to the one who works, his wages aren’t counted as a gift but as wages due to him. 5 And to the one who doesn’t work but believes in he who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness (pardon, innocense) 6 just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works: 7 “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose transgressions are covered. 8 Blessed is the one against whom the Lord will not count their transgressions [hamartia - missing the mark].
